I can finally agree that a meal at the Boathouse in Disney Springs is well worth the time and money. Our first experience there, right after they opened, was a flop but the Boathouse kindly encouraged us to come back on them and try again. So we did.

It was just DH and I this time, not the entire family group of ten, but from the moment we walked up to the podium, we were treated wonderfully. Our server Corwyn was fantastic! Ask for him if you want a lovely mix of humor and professionalism! He is a pro!

The environment is all nautical and reminiscent of a fancy very windowed yacht club. You can choose to eat on the docks or in one of several dining rooms.

Hubby and I both had drinks, wine and hard cider, and we ordered the Fried Wild Caught Atlantic Clam Strips. The clams were very tasty and the dish is plentiful! We had the Dry Aged Tomahawk Rib Chop and new potatoes for two and shared a lobster tail. We also had to have the famous Truffle Fries. All were cooked exactly as requested and were delicious and served hot! The Truffle fries are unique and very delicious.

For dessert I had another glass of wine and we shared the Double Chocolate Bundt Cake minus the raspberry sauce since I do not care for raspberries. Again they hit it out of the ball park.

The wine list is extensive and our server was very knowledgeable about pairing our meal with a wine that fit my tastes!

Our plates were cleared quickly and properly and the service staff was plentiful and helpful. The ladies rest room was clean and centrally located to all the dining rooms.

All in all the meal was a complete success and we will return and recommend it to all our friends without any reservation.

After our meal we were joined by our 7 year old granddaughter. Ryan from the Boathouse offered us an amphicar boat tour. You start out on land and end up splashing that car into the water where it becomes a boat! It was so much fun and actually quite amazing. Our captain was excellent and educated and entertained us and our granddaughter. Your photographs are taken and can be added to your photopass.

This one will be a must do on our future trips!

It's our new must-do too. We went last year twice, once each for lunch and dinner. We enjoyed the first meal so much we returned the next day to try different dishes. I've said this on about the Boathouse already on Disboards and I will say again, you really can't beat the location (outside table overlooking the water), the ambience, the food, the staff, we couldn't find any fault. We also went on the amphicar after our meal (although we paid for ours) and it was worth it. They took lots of photos and they were part of the memory maker which was an added bonus. Roll on December until we dine there again.

Haven't tried it yet, but looking forward to it. Great review!

Well we went back to Boathouse and now I must offically apoligze because it was the best meal of the trip! In fact we went back a second time.

I am so happy to hear this as our first trip was an epic fail too! Our second try was successful beyond measure. Everything was pretty much perfect. We are headed back to Disney in May for the Pandora Pre-view and I suspect we will be headed back to the Boathouse again too!

We're finally eating here in August and I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks for the review!

Really it was a great experience and a much better value then any of the on property restaurants we went to. Our family of 5 adults ate a Boma it was215$ with tip and AP discount. WE ate at Boathouse, has 2 alcohol drinks and no dessert and it was 179$ and was MUCH better.

Thanks for the review. We have ADR's for September and it will be our first time. Saving up to ride in an amphicar, too.

OH!!! I only have one night to go to Disney Springs and I am torn between the Boathouse and Paddlefish! Has anyone tried Paddlefish yet?

I'm so glad you had a great experience this time and we couldn't agree with you more. The Boahouse is a firm favourite for us. We have dined there a few times now, making ADRs in each of our last three visits. During our last trip, a DS day was interrupted by indecision over the topic of lunch venue and large Christmas week crowds. We took a chance at a Boathouse walk-up and it became one the more memorable meals of our trip! The waitstaff was professional, but fun. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful, especially when choosing oyster flights ... and deciding which dessert to share! (For the record, Key Lime Pie in a Mason Jar) We had such a good time we ended up with a four course extravaganza instead of a sandwich or salad or pizza on the run. We can't wait to get back to WDW to once again indulge in goodies from the sea in that lovely relaxed setting.
