Just heard about the Chris Craft boat at the boathouse. Would a party of 2 be able to request this or is there only 1 seat? I thought I heard it's only one seat, but I want to confirm.

Thanks!

If I can remember correctly, there is something "unique" to reserving the boat table. I believe there is some type of pretty high "minimum" tab that you have to reach to reserve. Someone else may possible know. We had a really good dinner at the Boathouse last October, very good, but not in the boat table!

As I recall it's a larger table setting and basically reserved for larger parties. Doesn't stop smaller parties from admiring it though:).

We were seated in the boat in 2017. Me, my wife and our three kids (age 8 at the time). When we checked in for our ADR my son asked me "do you think we're going to sit in the boat?" The hostess must have overheard (I guess), and they seated us in the boat. We didn't have to do anything special.

Very interesting, all! I had no idea this existed until I listened to a Disney podcast. I guess when we arrive we can see if it's available or they're willing to seat us there. If not, there's plenty of beautiful views otherwise! :)

Weather permitting, there are tables and small seating areas (~patio furniture) down on the dock adjacent to docked boats. The boats are not accessible (i.e. you can look but can’t touch). Might be another option if really wanting to put the boat in Boathouse. :duck: And the dockside bar in general is great for watching the amphicars. Terrific food, drinks, and service... enjoy!!

You can call the Boathouse directly to reserve the table. There is a $250 ordering minimum. I was going to book it for our party of 2 adults, 2 11-year olds for July, but decided against it as one of the kids dining with us eats like a bird and I don't drink alcohol, so we probably won't hit the minimum. We are opting to spend that extra money on an amphicar after dinner instead! If you think you'll eat a 3-course meal with alcoholic beverages, you might be able to get to that minimum with 2 people?!

@DisneyWishes14 regarding the Amphicar: These only seat 4, including the driver. There is also a total weight limitation, which comes into play if any of you are larger.

Hmm - according to their own website (and video on the website), they seat 3 - 4: https://www.theboathouseorlando.com/amphicar-tours/

Kids are under 100 lbs. and adults are under 130 lbs. We certainly don't weigh any more than the people shown in the video. We'll check it out when we get there. If they say we can't ride, I can always sit out and let the others go. We are traveling with first-timers and want to make it magical for them! We're all pretty go-with-the-flow, so if it doesn't work out, it's ok. Plenty of other things to do in DS!!! :)

That's exactly what we were going to do back in October. The Amphicar looked so cute and I believe that when I was researching there is a discount if you dine at Boathouse on the Amphicar. We had a late ADR and was exhausted from our park day, my birthday celebration,:drinking1 so we passed this time! Have fun.::yes::. We will do an amphicar on one of our future trips.

Oh, good to know! Thank you so much!

The car is very small (it's about the size of an original VW beetle). I judge everything by how *I* fit. I 6'5" tall. When my wife and I did it, I took up the whole back seat because I had to sit sideways to get my legs in. I tried the front seat first, and that was a no-go.

Ask the driver for a "big splash" on entry. You'll talk about it for the rest of the day.

For the $125 cost (in 2017), you'd expect they would have thrown in the souvenir photo, but that was extra. Still, we enjoyed it immensely, and think it was a pretty good value (in Disney terms).

We can certainly rack up a bill if we tried, but not sure if we can do $250 just between the two of us. Maybe we can, and just haven't been put to task before? :rotfl2:

Thank you all so much for your input! I hadn't heard about this on the forums so it's cool to know there are still new things to discover in Disney. :goodvibes
