When people make reference to The Boardwalk, are they talking about the resort or is there an actual boardwalk and/or amusement type area?

Thinking of checking out "the Boardwalk" on our first day, but not sure what to expect.

Thanks in advance for any info!!!

there is a broadwalk over behind or in front of the BWV/I area.

it has entertainment - but doesn't really start until dark - some doesn't start until Epcot closes.

it has some restaurants and shops, a bakery and candy store . there are also some stands to get hot dogs and ice cream and a baketball hoop thing, and a place to rent surry bikes. it is a real nice area, its right on the lake across from the bc/yc. it is one of our must do's at disney.

be sure also to poke your head in at the bwi lobby, it is beautiful!

It's relatively quiet during the day ... the real activity doesn't start until the sun goes down.

Then the neon lights come on, the stiltwalkers appear, the jugglers and plate spinners take up residence, and a guy who plays a piano while riding a bicycle begins to pedal around the lake. It's fun and festive. The ESPN club is there, too, and some very fine restaurants. And in the evenings, the BoardWalk Bakery is a great place to grab an ice cream cone or a slice of pizza and just soak it all in. :)
