Things were definitely expensive there but we were in the Inn not villas so not buying much. We bought yogurts, pretzels, cookies, drinks etc... They did have a frozen case with little pizzas but not sure what else. You can buy beer by the bottle there. I also remember seeing bagels and Entimenn donuts.
It is convienent but probably not a good cost saver.

Steevo - Concierge level does not include valet parking at any of the Deluxe resorts. It is $6 each day plus tips to get the car out. Once you pay for the day at one resort, you can park at all the other Deluxe resorts for free that day except for tips. Only DVC members get free valet parking.

Question for all of y'all BWI afficionados. DH and I are going on an adults-only trip to WDW in December. Right now we are booked YC Concierge but I am now seriously reconsidering and thinking of going BWI Concierge. We are specifically looking at Concierge Deluxe and Garden Suites.

I like the Garden Suites because they are darling and have tons of space and a King bed but I'm wondering if they are really worth the extra cost for just the two of us. It looks like the Concierge Deluxe is pretty big but I was wondering if any of them have king size beds. It sounds like they are all queen but then someone also said there was one king? Do you think the extra cost is worth it? Please advise.

TIA!!

we stayed concierge deluxe--2 queen beds. It was very nice, very convienet to the lounge. I believe all of the deluxe rooms face the boardwalk. It is a large room--like 1 standard BWI room and 3/4 of another added on to it that has a sofa, large entertainment unit with TV and I believe a chair or two. The sofa is a hide-a-bed. Our porch had two chairs. We had 5 people in our room--4 adults and 1 small teenager and the room was plenty big for all of us. We could have used another bathroom ( :sad2: )--but, other than that we had plenty of space.

I agree the Garden Suites are very charming. I personally wouldn't like having to walk into the main hotel in order to utilize the concierge lounge and I believe those are concierge level rooms.

BWI is pretty at Christmas time!! I am sure YC is also decorated nicely...just recall BWI being beautiful.

Hey everyone!

We're headed to the BoardWalk Villas in July. We were wondering what groceries are available at the Screen Door General Store and just how pricey are they? We want to have some food available in our room, but as a money saving type of thing...so if it's too expensive in the store, that really wouldn't be the greatest plan.

Thanks so much!

There is a Hess station across the street that has convenience store items at a reasonable price.

You can also get free valet if you have a Disney Dining Experience Card and dine at the resort you park at. I'm not sure if the restaurants on the Boardwalk count for BWI since they are really not part of the hotel.

I've been reading this thread all morning.

Thanks for starting the thread and all of the helpful information.

I do have a couple of questions about Hot Tubs. I did not see anything (or missed it) in the 14 pages.

Is there a hot tub? Is it near the main pool, or do they have one near the quiet pool.

Question about room request: I asked for a standard room, full balcony. Do I need to ask for an Epcot view?

Thanks - cannot wait to get to the Boardwalk.

Some of the standard views face the front driveway and valet entrance. If you want an Epcot view (courtyard), you need to request it. Of course, a request is not guaranteed.

I just got confirmation that my ressie has been changed to BWI Garden Suite for our December trip. I'm so excited!!!!! Just had to share!

Most of the decision was reading the stuff on this board. Thanks for all of the fabulous information!

Hey Shauna~
We stayed in Garden Suite 1205 when we were there last Thanksgiving. It was a nice suite. two levels, plenty of space.
The only thing I didn't like was having to walk all the way up to the concierge level Innkeeper's club, but I was able to take a few bagels and tea back to our suite. I wish I had a tray!!!
Have fun! you'll love it, we were right across from the pool and hot tub, but it wasn't noisy at all. We could see some of the Epcot fireworks from our balcony. Once I went up to the concierge lounge and could basically see the same from our balcony.

Jeanny, 1205 is my favorite room in all of Disney. We stayed there when we got engaged. I liked having the balcony better than the other suites with the patio. Unfortunately we couldn't get 1205 again for our wedding.

D&R... yep, it's a great suite. That's my type of vacation. Even though it's not on the concierge floor, I'd still ask for that suite again!

Jeanny and D&R - Was the King bed comfortable? We usually stay W, Hyatt Regency and Sheraton and they all have the "Heavenly Bed" type. Are BWI's beds comparable?

Also, DH and I have a daily cigarette. Do you think it would work better for us to have a patio or one of the balcony rooms?

And one last thing - Do either of you have photos of the room?

Thanks for sharing your opinions!

Cheers!

Hey Shauna~I have some pictures on a disc, I'll find it and send some to you. PM me your email address when you have a chance.
I actually only slept in the king bed one night, I slept on the queen pullout sofa and that was fine. My daughter slept upstairs in the king bed. It was comfortable, but not as comfortable as my own bed at home...
We were going to take turns, but I liked the sofa bed.

Hot tubs.... Yes! Defintely one at the main Luna Park pool, I know as my kids were in and out of it a lot on the cooler days of our trip there! :cold: We never actually used the quiet pool but did walk out and look at it and I think I remember there being a hot tub. We have stayed there twice and really enjoyed that pool area, really fun and the lifeguards were very friendly.

We finally decided that we are going with a BWI Garden Suite. I'm very excited and we both think it will be great because quiet is of utmost importance to us. Plus, DH's mom and step-dad are coming our for one day (they live in Tallahassee) so we thought they could have the downstairs sofa if they are too tired to drive home.

I am totally jazzed about the suite and the BWI! I can't wait!

Don't the garden suites come with concierge service at the BW? If so, have the staff place your MIL and her husband on your reservation for the day you visit. I think it will be an extra $25 per person charge, but that will give them each a key and access to the lounge with you. If they end up staying, they'll be able to grab a nice breakfast in the morning or even a glass of wine the night before.

Did you find some photos? This site has some nice ones and if you click the 360 degree view, there are a couple for the garden suite. http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/ASP/costcalc.asp?resId=BWI&pageFunction=researcher.

Question for those of you who have stayed in a Garden Suite?

Did you arrive early on your first day and if so, were you able to get into your room right away? DH and I will be landing at MCO at 10:00 am and we are going to pick up the car and head straight to the resort. How likely do you think it is that we will be able to get into our room at 11:00 am? Anyone have experience with this?

TIA!

Have you spoken with your pre-planners yet? You definitely want to mention to them that you'll be arriving early. Sometimes this can make a difference, but it really all depends on whether previous guest have asked for late departure, or just how booked up they are. I haven't stayed at the garden suites specifically, but out of all our concierge stays, we've only had to wait for our room once and we typically arrive around 11am.

In case you can't get into your room just yet, you will still have full access to the concierge lounge. It would be about snack time in the lounge, so they'll have some light food offerings and cold drinks. You'll already be checked-in, so you could even have room service deliver your lunch either in the lounge or poolside if you wanted.

I will mention it to the IPO staff. We will only be at WDW 7 total days including arrival and departure so we wanted to get started touring the parks right off the bat. We were just hoping that we would be able to get into our room when we arrived so that we could change after our looooooonnnnnng red-eye flight from California. A shower and change of clothes will go far in helping us to be revitalized (not that being at WDW won't do that in the first place!)

Thanks Tammie!
