Staying CL. Hope the weather is wonderful!!:woohoo:

Does anyone know what time the boardwalk bakery opens?

Just got back from a stay at the BWV March 1-6. I don't know what time the Bakery opened because I'm not an early riser, but I can tell you that it almost always seemed crowded except for late at night. They still had a selection of pastries at night and I'd buy several for our group at that time. I'd take them back to the villa wrapped as purchased and in the white paper bag provided by the Bakery. In the morning they were still fresh and ready to enjoy. Just make sure the bag remains closed tightly overnight.

Some of the selections were fruit turnovers, fruit or cheese Danish, tarts of all sorts, brownies, giant cookies, fancy cupcakes, whole cakes, and during the day there was a selection of sandwiches. My sister bought us a cake from the Bakery case and had it inscribed with "thank you for everything" (we took her and her young daughter). It was wonderful -- vanilla with vanilla frosting and layered with a rich vanilla mousse. I noticed there were blank cakes in the case, but I don't know what the asking price was. Sis was impressed that the apple Danish had huge slices of real apples and not the usual pie filling you normally see in apple Danish.

The Bakery has a small waiting area and is also the main mug refill station so it fills up quickly. The area seems crowded with 8-10 people and it's sometimes difficult to get a mug refill in there.

Other options for mug refills are the bar at the Luna Park pool (cold drinks only, no coffee or hot chocolate) and the kiosk across from the Bakery on the Boardwalk, but it is only open in the evening (I think it opens at 5 pm). There are probably other places for mug refills, but we didn't find them.

Have a great trip guys! I am jealous. I have to wait until the end of June :sad2: I will have a little taste of Disney just in New York next week as Nascargirl and her DH are meeting us as well as one of our Disney family members from the Boardwalk:thumbsup2 I may accidentally get on the plane with her going back the following Sunday instead of the one coming back to Iowa;)

Does ANYONE know the brand of pillows they use in the Villas? I called & they transfered me to Housekeeping. But the website she gave me, was for the mattrisse. Those pillows were the BEST ones' I've ever slept on. I'm SO mad at myself for NOT taking the brochure they leave on the table with ALL the info!! :scared1:

Any help is SO appreciated!!

Chris

Has anyone stayed CL recently and could you share any info and pictures. Wondering what sort of offerings they have. Thanks for any info.

Hi,
Love this thread, staying for the first time in September. I've always wanted to stay at the Boardwalk, love reading all about it on here.

Did someone post that the BWI has been named a AAA 4 diamond hotel? So, it's now ranked alongside GF and YC. I always thought it was equal to the GF and far better than the YC but now it has the stars to prove it.

Alright, I'm decided!

So if I can squeeze in a solo trip this year, I plan on staying at BWI. I'm going to book a standard room and request 4th or 5th floor. I'd like a view of the Eiffel Tower in WS France.

Can I request it that way or is it better to request just a courtyard view and hope for the best?

I'm hoping to have a bounceback discount in our room over Memorial Weekend.

I know there are coffee pots in the rooms, but is there a place to get 1/2 and 1/2 or cream for the coffee? Maybe the belle vue room or bakery or even the General Store? :)

My DD and I were at the Innkeepers Club March 31- April 4. We had a wonderful stay and once again the club level staff and mousekeeping were great! Sorry, I don't have any pictures, but the evening offerings were from Kat Cora's restaurant on the Boardwalk. The staff told us that they were not using all the BW restaurants anymore, just Kat Cora's. I really liked the variety of all the BW restaurants, so I missed that part of the evening offerings. The offerings were nice but themed to her restaurant.

We are thinking about changing to the BWI for our trip later this summer, can anyone tell me if we book standard view do all of those rooms have a balcony or is that something you need to request?

I agree. :thumbsup2 I'm pretty sure that it's my favorite resort now, and I love the rooms and the layout of the resort. :)

I hope they change it back before our next stay. I really loved the appetizers the last time we were there. :)

I have a July trip planned for a first time stay at BWI. We have a Standard Room booked and I have posted on several threads asking advice on what to request for the best Standard Room. I'm not familiar with the resort, so I don't what is most desired. For some reason, though, every time I post my question I kill the thread. Hopefully, someone will answer your post and I can get my answers that way. ;) popcorn::

We're staying at BWI too. It's our first trip and we're not sure what to request either. We booked a standard room. Heck - I'm sure we'll be thrilled with whatever we get :-)

When we book Standard at the BWI I always request "rose-garden courtyard view, upper floor". We've always had our request granted & have had wonderful views of the quiet courtyard and the Eiffel Tower. Perfect for watching Illuminations on the balcony :)

Enjoy the Boardwalk!
