The Boardwalk Inn Information Thread

Just found this thread and haven't read through all 105 pages yet, so this may have already asked...

Saw that the first post with all the information was dated 2002 and wanted to find out what the Character Caravan is and if it's still going on!

Sorry...just found out my answer!

Currently I am booked AKL Club Level. Something about the boardwalk Inn keeps pulling at my heart strings! I am very intrigued by this resort and find it beautiful. I am contemplating changing my ressie over to BWI Club Level for my son's and my trip this August. I really like the look/feel of this resort. We have stayed 2 x's at AKL Club level and had magical trips both times, so I hope I would experience just as wonderful a trip at a new resort! I am wondering if I should hold out to change my ressie until after we find out if Free Dining is being released around April, or if I should change it now? I am worried if AKL IPO makes all my dining ADR's in 2 weeks, and I change over to BWI Club Level....would my ADR's be cancelled, or do you think they'd be able to be transferred over? Has anyone gotten Free Dining while staying CL at BWI??? I am thinking of doing the Deluxe dining plan as we want to try some 2 credit restaurants this trip. Any opinions/thoughts are very welcomed because I am having such a hard time deciding whether or not to change to BWI CL

Wooh! I'm glad I found a Boardwalk thread!

Why are there so few pictures of this place? All of the photo threads are only 7 or so pages long. I'm having trouble getting a Boardwalk fix! Or am I missing the main photo thread?

What are the dining options for those on the dining plan at Boardwalk Inn? I am considering staying at this resort....would have the DLX dining plan. Does this resort have room service available??
TIA for your help!

They wont cancel your ADR's so dont worry about that. I stayed BWI club level a few years ago and it was very nice. I love the walk to Epcot and DHS and the food offerings were very nice.
I did the free dining while staying at the WL and it was fine. But we did the dlx dining at the YC one year but no concierge it was so much food.

Has anyone been disappointed with the bus service/route from BWI? I am considering staying there but was on a very crowded bus from DTD that stopped at about 5 places before it got to BWI.

I just wanted to know if BWI shares stops with alot of other hotels for all their buses.

Thanks

I have standard view rooms booked at the Inn, and have a couple questions about balconies.

From walking around the resort, I know there are a few rooms that face the village green that do not have balconies, are these standard or water view? Has anyone had experiences with them?

Also noticed that some of the rooms that face the inner courtyard that only have standing room balconies. Any idea how many of these there really are?

One more question, am I able to make room requests online?

Thanks! :thumbsup2

We are planning our 20th anniversary trip next year and I'm wondering if we can get a standard room with a king bed that is FULL Boardwalk view without paying for CL? I doubt we would use CL, but I'm worried that just requesting the view and king bed on a standard reservation won't get us what we want. Anyone have any suggestions? I guess we could just bite the bullet and go CL, but I'm not sure we would use it much? :confused3

I've read conflicting info..

Some have said that refillable mugs are refilled at Leaping Horse Libations, but not self serve?

Some have said that refillable mugs are refilled at Seashore Sweets and Boardwalk Bakery?

Anyone have any definate info as to where mugs at BW can be refilled?
CM's on the phone are useless, constantly getting conflicting info...

Thx.........

Can anyone update the refillable mug info? Such as where to buy the mugs, where they can be refilled, and whether any of the refill stations are open 24 hours? DH is a very early riser (like 4-5 am) and would love to have a fresh source of coffee without having to walk over to the Beach Club. TIA

:surfweb:

Your ADR's won't be cancelled. I'd just tell the IPO at AKL what you're trying to do and ask them to transfer your info to the IPO at BWI. You should be just fine.

We stayed AKL CL last year and as much as we'll miss it I'm really looking forward to the BWI. I hear their CL staff is great!

We're staying in late May-early June, and then Again in August.

I was wondering what offerings the Bell Vue Lounge had for breakfast, the price, and the hours it's available.

Thanks for any info :goodvibes

one week from today we will be checking in to the BWI for the first time!:cool1:

when you check in for club level, is there someone outside you tell? (For instance at the GF there is an outside podium you go to and they take you to concierge check in)
