I've had Boardwalk view twice without Deluxe or Concierge. The first time we got upgraded and we liked it so much we requested it the next time. It's great! We hadn't thought it worth the extra money until we got the free upgrade.

When I went to the Boardwalk back in October 2006 we stayed in room 3251. PERFECT ROOM!!! Great View!!! We had a huge balcony right above the Spoodles Sign..You could see Wishes from the Balcony and watch the various street performers down below!!!!! And i loved waking up everymorning opening the balcony doors and hearing the boardwalk music they play it really gets you in the mood for a perfect day! We paid the extra money for a Water View and it was well worth it.

Boardwalk Inn is one of our favorite hotels at Disney..This time around in May we are staying at the Beach Club solely due to Stormalongbay.. We werent to crazy about the luna park pool there (esp after seeing the beach/yacht club pool area) but it was oct we harldy used the pool anyway. I hope we didnt make a mistake with the beach club because my boyfriend and I are huge boardwalk fans!!! if we miss it that much we can just walk and visit it

15 days till our May trip

We loved the Beach Club. In fact, we really wanted the Beach Club but it was all booked. We wanted Epcot area so BWI it is! I think you will enjoy the pool and the overall atmosphere. We are looking forward to a new experience at the BWI and the deluxe rooms sound great. I thought the kids would be sad about not having the BC pool, but they said--a new pool will be fun. Hope we like the pool area. We will use it in August!!!:cool1:

Family is looking at a first time stay at BWI and would appreciate any tips. Can't swing Concierge level so any good room requests would be helpful. Since there isn't a "food court", what options are there for a breakfast? Danish for a week isn't a great thought. :confused3

We just grabbed breakfast at the boardwalk bakery in the morning (most of the time there is a line but it moved quickly) or u can grab something at the screen door on the boardwalk as well (cereal granola bar)

I am visiting WDW this fall with my husband, our two year old son, and my mother. We were planning on going in October and staying at the GF, but I found out about the free DDP right before I booked, so we moved our trip to September... and found the best deal for us was a Garden Suite at the BWI. (It saved $2000+ !, since we could get one room instead of two, and it was available with the free DDP.)

We would ideally love a quiet room that isn't too far from the concierge lounge, but has a great view of something... We are expecting to be in the room a fair amount during the afternoon so the toddler can rest, and we are planning on supplementing the DDP with concierge level snacks. Am I likely to be disappointed with the Garden Suites? I keep reading about how far most of the Garden Suites are from the concierge lounge if you don't want to climb four flights of stairs.

What are the views like? Just the little private garden in front? Or do any have either boardwalk views or epcot views?

Are there specific room numbers I should request or really try to avoid?

How much privacy and separation is there between the upstairs and downstairs? My husband and I were planning on taking the upstairs while my mother stayed downstairs. (We're planning on letting our son sleep where ever he wants.)

Yikes, too many questions, I'll consider that enough for now!

That's a huge savings. I don't know anything about the Garden Suites as we just stay in a regular room but I have to ask: Are you sure that the Garden Suites are Concierge? I didn't they all were.

Haven't stayed in one before, but I know the Garden Suites are in a separate building by the quiet pool and are considered concierge. We used the back stairway to get to concierge level. Not sure how far a walk it is to get to the elevators to access concierge.

Regarding privacy & separation, have you seen the pics on www.allearsnet.com/acc/g_bwi.htm There are quite a few of the Garden Suites.

We loved BWI and the concierge staff are the best on property.

Have a great trip. :)

The view is of the quiet pool and courtyard. The Courtyard is large and well landscaped. It is also private to hotel guests. Very Nice.

I was lucky enough to snag an AP rate this morning for the BWI. We have never stayed here and could only afford the standard room. Can someone help me with a room request? Do any standard rooms NOT face a parking lot?

Thanks,
Melanie

We had a standard room We were on the 3rd floor over the Garden suites. Looking into the courtyard and quiet pool. Room was fine. We did see that in the middle of the courtyard was a small wing of rooms. They were all standard rooms. The first floor one had a great patio and they were in the middle of the courtyard (Gardens, Quiet pool, benches) very nice, they were not attached to the main hotel, but a seperate building. That would be the room I would request next time.

We stayed at BWI in two standard view rooms two years ago. Our room was on the third floor and the view we had was of a nice interior courtyard. The best part was that we had a huge balcony and it faced Epcot. We could see the top of Spaceship Earth and Illuminations. They were also having the flower power concert and we could hear the band playing very clearly(Temptations, I think). We were very happy with our view.

So, it sounds like I need to request a courtyard view, correct?

Thanks so much!

Melanie

I just posted the following in the old “Celebrity Sightings at WDW Resorts” thread (click here) but thought I should post it here, too:

This month there was a celebrity Fairy Tale Weddings vow renewal at Walt Disney World (click here). The vow renewal couple, Ms. Charytín Goyco and Mr. Elin Ortiz, stayed in the BoardWalk Inn’s Steeplechase Suite. As a matter of fact, video footage of Ms. Charytín preparing for her big day was shared on her television show, "Escandalo TV." To view the video clip, click here.

If you view the video, you can see portions of the Steeplechase Suite. It looks lovely.

I am captivated w/ this resort. The pool area looks fabulous! I'm hoping to stay here on our next trip, or this one if I can talk DH into it.

Could someone explain the layout of the resort? I've gone back and read almost the entire thread but I'm confused. I've read some posts that talk of the lounge and pool being a long walk to the rooms. But I thought that the resort would be smaller due to the amount of rooms.:confused3

Also we would be in a standard view as that is what the budget allows. Are the standard rooms located on a specific floor or area?

thanks

The resort is large. More than half is DVC and that is where the fun pool is. The inn side is smaller. Standard rooms are throughout the inn. MOst look at the center courtyard and quite pool. It is very nice. Quiet with beautiful gardens. Great for a stroll. It is one of my favorites. Best pool though I would have to say storm-along-bay at the beach club.

Thanks Bob P for the quick reply!

I agree w/ you on SAB but my kids are amazed by the Keister Coaster.
