I believe Lewanc was incorrect in their post. You cannot use SAB if you stay at BW, only at BC and YC. BW has its own amusement themed clown pool.

Hi There -- Just wanted to clear something up. My post regarding use of the SAB pool when staying at the BWI was noting the personal experience of visitors I had who stayed at the BWI. They asked, and were given access to the SAB pool during a visit last year. I also stated that the cast member who gave them access, stated access by the other resort guests (i.e. Yacht Club and BWI) depended on pool capacity at the time the non-BC guest requested access.

I thought I was quite clear in my post to express that SAB pool access was not a GIVEN amenity, but you MAY be able to use the SAB pool if you ask due to my experience. I try not to mislead anyone on any given topic on this forum, I just express the experiences of family, friends and myslef while vacationing at WDW.

Have a great day!!!

Does anyone have an estimate of how many rooms with a standard view have king beds at the Boardwalk. The CM asked how many guests and I said 2...I wonder if that will increase our odds of getting a king=)

Hello There Fellow Gator - It has been my experience that the type bedding I received had more to do with what was available at the time of check-in than the number of people, especially when it was a double occupancy. Would suggest you ask for a king when you check in, and if available, you'll get it. As to the number of standard view rooms with a king bed, or if standard views have kings, your best bet would be to call reservations, for the most up to date information.

Have a good trip!!!

Hi Everyone,

We just confirmed our reservations for the BWI Dec 13-18. Will be travelling with our 7 year-old GS. We spent a week at AKL last November and decided to go for something completely different this time (theme wise).

Have done loads of research (which equates to hours of reading DISboards:) ) and want to know what rooms to look for and which one's to look out for!

We booked standard view.

Thanks!

Okay! I read the entire thread --again --now that we are 2 months away from our Deluxe Concierge BWI stay in August:cool1: I know I should ask for the 4th floor which I did on my request on the original reservation. But now I am worried that we will get a small balcony. Is that really possible? Maybe a big balcony is more important? What do you think? Do people still fax room requests before they arrive? I know on our previous trips to the Poly, WL and BC--we did do it and we did get great rooms. ;)

Also is check in still at the main check in area for club level?

I usually stay 4th floor in a deluxe, but this past April we had a 3rd floor room with a huge balcony and I loved it! It was right near the back staircase to the 4th floor and easy access to the lounge. You will tell bell services you are club level and they will call ahead and bring you up. You are staying at my all time favorite resort. I am there twice a year and love it.

I thought all deluxe rooms had a large balcony? Are those little half ones the deluxe rooms?? I requested 4th floor also based on information from this thread. I'd much rather have the big balcony!

The balconies aren't tiny, the smaller ones have room for 2 chairs and a table. The one I had in April was much roomier.

Wow KerryCM--twice a year at the BWI--how magical!

I am sure either one will be fine-large or smaller balcony--but with DS and DD still snoozing in the morning,DH and I like to sit out with our very early coffee. And not to mention late night wine. ;) The 4 of us probably will not be out there together too much but I sure would like that option. DS is 21 and DD is 11 so we are talking 3 adults and 1 preteen who is as tall as me!

DS's favorite concierge was the Poly--but he is excited to try a new place and now that he is 21--he will be at Disney as a true adult! I have told him the concierge club at the BWI is a fav on the boards!

How early can we get coffee?

Hi All! Sorry if this has been asked before...no, I didn't read all zillion pages!! We are eating one night at Spoodles & were wondering how to get there from POR. We know you can go through Epcot WS but dont' want to waste a park day to walk through Epcot to get there! So, I've heard you can walk a pathway from MGM with out actually having to enter MGM....true? If so, where is the pathway found....remember, we would be getting off a bus from POR....would we see directions to this pathway??? :confused3 HELP!!

You can ride the Friendship boats too. They are easy to find.

Coffee is available beginning at 6:30 outside the doors of the lounge. The lounge opens at 7.

To walk to the BW from MGM the path is on the opposite side of the boats. If you walk by all the bus stops you can see it. I usually take the boat and get off at the S/D and walk over, it is much quicker. If I am not too tired I will walk. It is a nice walk.

I am sure you will love the BWI. When we were there (January) we had a room facing the quiet pool. I can not remember the number, but just past the quiet pool was the Eiffel Tower. We saw some of the fireworks at night. It was a great room, but the walk from the lobby to the room was a bit long. When you have 2 tired toddlers at night it can seem like an eternity until you reach your room. However, I would not hesitate to stay in that same room!

Does anyone know about where to find this "pathway" from MGM to Boardwalk?

We're doing our first concierge stay at the BWI (deluxe room) in January. I'm happy to say that I got an email from the planning office before I expected it/asked for it, my questions were answered very promptly, and they even followed up with things I hadn't considered!

Today, I got an email with all my dining requests reserved at the times I wanted, including Le Cellier on Jan 1, and a note that they had all the info to book my specialty cruise when we hit the 90 day mark. My check-in day is Jan 1, so I didn't expect anything today at all. (180 day mark for Jan 1 is tomorrow.) Earlier this week, we did add a night at the All Star Music resort on NYE, so that we wouldn't waste any time travelling on New Year's Day. Perhaps that is why the ressies were done a day earlier then I expected.

Anyway, as I've been trying to absorb all the great info in this thread, I thought I'd share for those who are still more than 6 months out. I couldn't be happier with the service!
