The Blockbuster Return to WDW... June 2025

Now, the dates for the epic return back. I definitely will expect some Epic Universe spillover into Disney with respect to crowding, and my Lightning Lane is definitely getting some use when I’m down there.

I will be in Disney Springs on June 21, EPCOT on June 23, and Animal Kingdom on June 25. Prior to all that, I’ll be down in Charleston, SC from June 19-21. Still a wild card from June 27-29.

Still contemplating for the lead out market. Myrtle Beach or Jekyll Island? Haven’t been to either but I’m leaning Myrtle Beach.

Now, the trump card. Trying to figure out a Tuesday non-theme park window. Perhaps Blizzard Beach and/or one of the mini golf courses?

And it’s now settled. I’ll be in Jekyll Island just north of Jacksonville after Disney.

Ok, I think I’m ready to move this thread over to the main board now! I’ll try to release some highlights of each day that I’m here at least once every month.

Word of caution: if your hotel contracts with a bus company called “Fabulous Buses”, you minus well not use that bus and use rideshare apps or Disney Transport instead. Leaving guests stranded in the heat for over 1 hour is NOT fabulous at all. Not to mention, the other bus clearly had space to add more space to other hotels.

Ok… it’s been a while but now I’m ready to report on this most recent visit with my party of 5. Now, unlike my previous and FIRST EVER visit to the Mouse where I flew and layed over in Atlanta, I actually stayed on the ground by car to get there.

Day 1 (6/19) was largely on the road and getting there. A couple hours into the pilgrimage to Disney, I stopped over in Wilson, NC to snag my first ever Krystal hamburger! It was tucked away in a gas station so everyone else in my party was giving me the suspicious look. I was on the tail end of breakfast so I did snag a Sunriser, but they started serving regular hamburgers just as 11am rolled.

With my Sunriser and iced tea downed, off we went to SC, and yet another stopover. This time, it was at the newly opened Buc-ee’s in Florence. I actually stopped over there when I had a more intimate rendezvous to Atlanta with my brother the previous month, so it wasn’t really new to me. A cold slushy and chicken tenders later, and off I went again!

Charleston was where all of us called it a night. This was the first of 3 days I would be in this charming port city in SC. Yours truly snagged some BBQ from Melvin’s. My mom really loved the collard greens, and their wings were so smoky and tasty. Now you probably thought at this point, all rainbows and pixie dust, right?

Wrong. I was going to head off to the swimming pool outside shortly after, but then… a summer fever briefly cast a spell on me. It would spell the doom of my time in SC. I had to take medicine and I was grumpy for the rest of the night. I did find out it was due to some pool water from before I left that was stuck in me from jumping so hard chee hooing and not covering my nose… and so from now on I instituted a swimming ban for at least 1 week prior to heading out of town, just so that I don’t end up like this again.
