Season 10 of "The Biggest Loser" Kicks Off Tuesday, September 21 with a New Theme of "Paying It Forward"

NBC announces 21 contestant hopefuls eager to transform their bodies, their health and their lives in the must-see premiere of "The Biggest Loser" on Tuesday, September 21 (8-10 p.m. ET). The theme for season 10 of the popular series is "paying it forward."

With obesity now one of the leading causes of preventable death in the United States, "The Biggest Loser" wanted to broaden their reach this season, pay it forward and motivate communities - not just contestants - to get healthy.
So trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels and host Alison Sweeney travel to seven cities in the premiere episode, with each trainer leading community fitness challenges like a one-mile race or a 500 step-up competition.
In each of the seven cities - Detroit, Los Angeles, Portland, Atlanta, Phoenix, Oklahoma City and Boston - there will also be three contestant hopefuls competing in the challenges.
The two candidates who complete their fitness challenge first win a spot at the ranch. Those who don't make it will get a chance to vie for a spot on the show in a later episode.

The new contestants hoping to make it on the ranch and compete for the $250,000 grand prize are:

JESSE ATKINS (Law clerk), 28, St. Paul, Minnesota.

MONTINA COOPER (Professional singer/songwriter), 35, Houston, Texas.

I really used to like this show, but I just feel like it has jumped the shark. I also feel like they ask the contestants to do too much and they push them too hard. Marathons? Ride bikes 26 miles on day one? It's overkill.

Momrek....I was wondering where you were today with this thread! Yeah they are over the top amount with marathons etc but I still love it. I love seeing the weekly progress...it's so motivational for me! too bad I didnt do any of my homework today so now I'm going to try and squeeze some reading in and start watching it on DVR at 8:30

(so I watch reality tv, so what!?) :):rotfl:

I'm joining in too. I think that first post about the contestants is confusing. some have not made it already, and they repeat names in both lists?

I whited the first group and moved it to below the contestants names. Anyone can scroll over it with their mouse to see it.

I agree that was confusing. Thanks. :thumbsup2

Ok, but I guess I was kind of confused because I think the first guy in the white out,...didn't he lose? I might not be remembering right, but I thought he was the one that lost the challenge. Of course it will take me awhile to get all the names right. LOL!

Hi guys :wave2:. I'm here!

Who wants to bet that the "losers" come back mid-season?

I have two more hours before I can see it.

I did double check NBC's TBL website and yes, it states that Aaron (Kent, Ohio) makes it through ... :confused3

OK, I went and looked too and he did not make it. So I'm guessing that he must be one that comes in later?

well I think they must post everyones pic, because a couple of the others didn't make it either.

i totally think they'll be coming back. I can't see them teasing them without giving them even a chance to come back

are there usually this many extreme sad sad stories (death of family members etc)? I feel like there are more than usual.

I hope that dreadlock guy comes back and stays through the makeover show :rotfl:.
