Okay, I wasn't talking about 1 lb of muscle vs 1 lb of fat, I'm talking about mass and the weight of the mass. I agree, a pound is a pound.
I guess this is one thing I don't like about this show, but since they are dealing with people who obviously don't have a lot of muscle (at the beginning), it hasn't been an issue, until now. The people that are working out are building muscle and that's putting them at a disadvantage, now. Pretend Danny and Tracy weigh the same. If Danny loses 11 lbs of fat, but gains 2 lbs of muscle, he's going to show a loss of 9 lbs, but he's getting healthier. If Tracy loses 11 lbs of fat, but gains no muscle, she's going to have a bigger percentage of weight loss, but she's not healthier.
Now when she plateaus and the others are burning more calories because they have more muscle, it will hurt her, but right now I'm not sure that's an issue and it stinks because someone who deserves to stay will have to go home because they have more muscle. That's what I was trying to get at in my earlier post.
So if you and your WW leader were in the competition and next week you lost 1 lb and she didn't, she would be sent home and you would stay, yet she's (probably) healthier.
