~ The Biggest Loser ~ FINALE ~ We have a winner!!!

I liked the "where are they now" show. I think when they are at the finale they are way under weight (for the most part) I mean Hellen looked awful last year. But once they get back into the real world, they gained a bit of weight and come to what they probably should be. I think most of them looked pretty good. Mike's brother looked really good. Lost just over 100lbs I believe. Good for him.

I have to say, seeing Max down 100 lbs and smiling -- looking like he's truly enjoying life -- made my heart happy!! :goodvibes

Ack...forgot about the show. I did tape half of it and have not seen it yet.

I am glad to hear Max lost weight.:)

So who was the person that gained "all that weight back"? Or was that just a line to get you to watch the show?

It was Erik and he is coming back in Season 9 to weight in then. Not sure if that means he will be back on the show or just there to weigh in to see if he kept his promise to Bob that he is back on track.

Matt is still struggling with his weight too but he just did an ironman thing in Oct. He was only out my 3 mintues of finishing it, it had to be done in 17 hours.

Wow, so these people go back and then gain. Not a good thing.:guilty:

Most looked pretty good. I thought for sure the tonga cousins would gain back but they are still good.

A lot of them teach classes and run marathons. They showed Carla and she ran her first marathon with Helen and a bunch of others. She now weights 247 now( she is the black women who's partner let her down too I believe?)

I wanted to see what Heba looked like but they didn't show her. I am sure there are others out there that put on a lot more.

Erik weighted 193 when he won and was well over 300 lbs when he started. His wife wasn't too please with him. It started with him bring treats in for the kids, I guess fast food and they would all eat it. I thought Bob would really be mad but he just said he understood and just to do something now but not the do the six hour execrise and starving. He said he needed to find something that suited his life. No more power dieting and execrising like the ranch.

That was the best part of the show, IMO.:thumbsup2

Yeah, I just wish they would have told us how much, KWIM? They kept saying 'When I got to the BL ranch I weighed 300 and now I weigh 244.' Well, that's all fine and good, but what did you weigh at the finale? :confused3 How much have you gained? I guess I just wanted to know what percentage they'd kept off.

I didn't think most of them looked good, but I don't think they are underweight at weigh in. I thought the cousins looked like they gained a lot of weight.
Erik weighed 405 when he first arrived and has put on like 150 pounds. I do wonder when they filmed that show and how much time he has to work on it before this seasons' finale. I mean, it's not like he can lose 70 pounds in a month or anything.:confused3

I wanted to see what Heba looked like but they didn't show her. I am sure there are others out there that put on a lot more.

Heba looks great, she has gain a few pounds back. (She was too thin before and now she looks health.) Ed now has a cookbook and has his trainers licenses now. They stay very busy with their healthy kids program with appearances.

PS....seen Rebecca and she looks great...she just may win the at home contest.

I really hope they don't put Erik back on the show next season, or if they do they make him ineligible for the prize since he already won it. It will be good for him to get the weight off, but I think Bob is right, he needs to find a way to do this in the real world. I didn't see that season. Was he a big game player, the kind who is only in it for the money?

As for the article about Kai, again, I didn't see that season, but honestly, it sounds like she had no common sense. All the things she whined about should be transparently obvious to anyone who has ever watched the show. Complaining about people being lined up on treadmills? Did she even watch the show? It sounds like she already had the mentality that could lead to an eating disorder and it did push her over the edge, but that is not the Biggest Loser's fault. It's not for everyone, and it certainly is an extreme way of losing weight, but for some people it is exaclty what you need. If you have seen the show, you know what you are getting into.

My opinion of Erik was that he was a very nice guy, very humble, and I don't remember him being a game player and only in it for the money. As I recall, Bob took a liking to him and really took him under his wing. I think Erik surprised even himself by doing so well, and maybe his brain/emotions didn't quite keep up with his physical self. :confused3

Thanks for the update. :thumbsup2

I think they all look healthy. Except Gerry....he looks so old for 64 and frail but he can still go on the machines.

If you have struggled with weight you know how hard it is to maintain. Like Bob told Erik you know how to lose it. It is to maintain it is a problem. Suzy said on Oprah I think that she loved being pregnant because she could eat. :lmao:

So true.:sad2: I'm not going to try to lose weight or maintain today, though.

Yes Thanksgiving food has no calories....:lmao:

Mind you I can't use that as an excuse today because I already had my Thanksgiving in October.

Happy Thanksgivng to all of you though!!!

Aw, I saw that and it made me so sad :( I hope he keeps on track to try it again next year.

I agree Gerry is too thin but he's retired and has the time to work out all the time. Most people has an 8-hour job.

I was sad to see Allen go. He is a nice guy and I really wanted him to get into the finals. He lives locally. His family has a lot of restaurants and catering businesses and most suffer from weight problems. I have asked them about making one into a healthy food option.

Allen is not only a firefighter but is also our county coroner. I do not think they mentioned that on the show.

I was amazed at how many had kept the weight off. It is much harder to maintain than lose. I know.

Off to my Happy Place on Saturday! See you there!

Slightly Goofy

He gained some of the weight back he was not as big as he was when he started. His wife said he brings all this unhealthy food into the house & binges. She compared him to an alcoholic.

I believe that. You have to make daily choices not to get the unhealthy foods. That is hard. He has to decide he wants to maintain.

I can't believe no one has posted a comment on seeing Vicky in the "Where Are They Now?" show...

C'mom guys, let 'er rip!:rotfl:

She was ok! LOL She admitted she acted like a jerk, and she even said that if SHE were at home watching somone like HER, she'd have said and thought the same things that all of America was! She seemed to be a good sport about the fact that was "America's Most Hated Woman" for a short while. :happytv:
