This is the kids FIRST trip to the World. We spent a week in San Diego last year and debated doing Disneyland but decided to wait until this year to let them have the World as a vacation by itself. They have no idea what we are planning.
Our 100th day out, (which is June 8th) I'm having a box (a HUGE box) delivered to the house addressed to the kids. Inside I'll have:

An invitation from Mickey inviting the kids (Ashlyn 8, Carter 6, and Braden 3) to join him at WDW in Sept. (my girlfriend who owns her own printing co. is doing this for us)
I'll have three Disney baloons
their autograph books( my scrapper addicted friend is doing this)
one Disney shirt for each kid (I'm making these)
a countdown calendar (half way done and so stinkin adorable)
Their Mickey jar (to save their souvenir money which will have some to start with)

So my questions are:
I can't find Mickey baloons!
What on earth should I put on the invitation? Our dates are Sept 16-23rd and we are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. We are flying and are doing Park Hopper. We are doing MNSSHP on the 22nd (our last night there). ADR's won't be set by this date so I can't include those on the invite. Come on creative minds! Thanks!

This sounds like an awesome surprise! I've seen Mickey balloons at the Dollar Stores and Party City has the big Mickey and Minnie heads. You could always order them off a website too like balloonmaniacs, Birthday Direct, or Celebrate express. Good luck!

I actually wouldn't put too much on there anyway. With kids your kid's ages, you are going to want to stay flexible. They won't know what Port Orleans Riverside is, nor will they care. Nor will they care about their ADRs (and they might have some suggestions on where to eat).

You might just want to say "Mickey Mouse cordially invites you to visit him at Walt Disney World from September 16 - 23rd."

You could do it wedding invitation style:

Mickey Mouse
and
Minnie Mouse
cordially invite you
to vacation
at
Walt Disney World
September 16 -23, 2009

RSVP to Mom and Dad

I would throw in the Birnbaums Disney for Kids book.

Keep it simple!
MICKEY MOUSE AND FRIENDS INVITE YOU FOR A WEEK OF FUN AT DISNEYWORLD!

OR

YOU COULD GIVE THEM DIRECTIONS ON WHAT TO DO AFTER THEY COUNTDOWN.
1. PACK SUITCASE WITH ITEMS ON A LIST.
2. GO TO AIRPORT AND GET TICKETS.
3. FLY TO ORLANDO
4. FIND A MAGIC EXPRESS BUS
5. GO TO HOTEL
6. ETC,
KIDS LOVE TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS ON LISTS LIKE THAT. IT KEEPS THEM GOING TO NEXT STEP AND LOOKING FORWARD TO WHAT THEY ARE DOING FROM MOMENT TO MOMENT. THERE COULD BE INCLUDED A MAP TO GET THEM FROM STEP TO STEP TOO. YOU WOULD HAVE TO MAKE IT UP.

AS FOR THE BALLOON, THEY HAVE MICKEY BALLOONS AT PARTY CITY OR EVEN OUR GROCERY STORES HAVE EM. GOOD LUCK!

I agree with keeping it simple. I suprised DD last September, but I didn't tell her until we got to the airport. ( She thought we were flying to NYC)

Make sure you have a camera ready.
