July 1 - $6 for ice cream for me and DD, $10 lunch Chick Fil A

July 2 - 98.45 at Walmart - that includes groceries for the week, cat stuff, paper products and toiletries. If I can keep this under $500 total for the month, that would be great!

I would like to jump in here on this thread. 15 no spend days is my goal.

Tinkarooni, what is the difference between allowance and fun money?

DH and I are now empty nesting and considering that the new budget should have money each of us can have to spend on whatever we want for ourselves. But, that we should also plan in an amount for us to enjoy life together.

Wondering what you do.
 
07-01 $9.00 sandwich for dinner. Work ran WAY later than I thought.
07-02 $11.65 lunch (actually it will be lunch and dinner - so it's really not that bad price-wise)
07-03 $0! The first no spend day of July! Woo Hoo! Its been a rainy day spent indoors - no need to go out in this weather!

This should be a good month for spending. I'm working so many days there wouldn't be a chance to spend anything anyways....

Any secrets? Tips?

I'm assuming you work the CVS specials and match coupons to sales. Is there more to it?
 
Lunch at Changs today, but had the coupon for a free lettuce wrap and a gc with about $13 left on it. :-) Also grabbed a 5 dollar t shirt at Old Navy- you can always use a plain white tee.

I track 0 spend days, total discretionary spending, grocery budget and coupon/sale savings.
