I consider these to be the biggest 5 bands in classic rock... Of these bands, which is your favorite? ( funny how they are all English bands )....

The Beatles by far. I like some songs by the other groups but also can't stand some of their songs. But I like most songs by the Beatles.

LOVE The Stones. My favorite band, ever. Can't stand The Who.

You need another option...none.

My favorite Classic Rock band is The Moody Blues.

That's a hard one.

The Beatles, followed very closely by Floyd, followed closely by Zeppelin, followed closely by The Who with Stones bringing up the dead last (talk about overrated! :rolleyes1

Out of just those 5 listed, I would say it would be the Beatles.

But none of those would be in my top 5.

How about:
AC/DC
Aerosmith
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Def Leppard
ZZ Top

I voted Beatles BUT I don't consider them in the same group as the other 4 your listed. Not sure why, I just don't think of them when I think of classic rock and roll - I think of the Eagles, the Moody Blues

I never considered the Beatles to be Rock, more like Rock and Roll.

So based on that I picked Led Zepplin. They seem to be a real classic rock band.

I chose Pink Floyd but considered choosing The Who. Pink Floyd music brings back such high school memories for me, though. So I went with them.

I don't really consider the Beatles to be classic rock. I always envision classic rock as 1968 - 1979 more or less. I would consider the Beatles to be classic 60s music, same with the Stones and the Who, like Elvis more or less, different era. Also, the Beatles are more classic pop IMO.

Classic Rock bands are Led Zep #1, you hit that one. :thumbsup2 Boston, Queen, Lynyrd Skynrd (although this may have their own category as southern rock), Black Sabbath, Van Halen (came out 1978),and Aerosmith (although they are still putting out hits, but their early work is considered classic rock from the 70s.)

Of the 5 listed: The Beatles

But, Aerosmith is actually the greatest rock band!!!

I would say DL would have to fall into the 80s hair bands. I put a cut off point at 1980 to begin the 80s rock movement, some call it 80s hair bands. The satellite radio stations break it up into pretty good categories IMO. ZZ Top is classic rock or could be like Lynyrd Skynrd more southern rock, AC/DC is probably classic rock, about like Aerosmith that began in the 70s and went into the 80s and beyond, but still classic rock. All just my opinions you can take them or leave them. :lmao:

Yes forgot about the Eagles, you would have to throw them in the mix, considering I think they're greatest hits album is one of if not the top selling classic rock album of all time.

Of those choices, I'd pick the Beatles; however, I don't really consider them classic rock.

For classic rock I'd choose Aerosmith or Queen.
