The "Besties" Trip - Part Two - December 2-7, 2008 (up.Aug.19th!)

Welcome to Adventureland! "Land of mystery, of enchantment..." And land of the Jungle Cruise! That's exactly where Lauren and I were headed. There was a 15 minute standby wait so we popped into the line and waited. I, of course, took pictures of the queue area because we all know it's a hoot!

After our short wait we were welcomed aboard our boat! Now, I have to say in all honesty that this was not the best skipper I've ever had. I don't remember his name but he was just kinda bland, didn't give up all the corny jokes we love! I'm pretty sure he was just having an off day since he seemed as though he was thinking about something else. But we still enjoyed our trip through the jungles!

123_123.jpg

And of course we saw "the backside of water"!

126_126.jpg

128_128.jpg

and we met this lovely man who "always comes out ahead"

Continued in next post :)

After we returned safely from our cruise (with our heads still on our shoulders!), we headed over to the Enchanted Tiki Room!

132_132.jpg

Oh I do love the Tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki room! I do wish the "old" management would come back, but I still enjoy it the way it is now.

135_135.jpg

Well, that's all for today! Take care everyone! :)

Thanks for the virtual trip on the Jungle Cruise! I so love the queue area and the ride yourself although you're right-- a good skipper makes it great!

:rotfl: to myself as I think about all the corny jokes. Back side of water, come out ahead... :lmao:

Hey Stace! I can't believe I missed this! You're certainly flying right along now!
I wish we would have been there at the same time! I would have loved to do a meet! Awesome pics though! I never did see the old management at the Tiki room, we saw it for the 1st time ever last year and it was really cute. Blake and I have a special place for the Lion King and Aladdin! Love the Jungle Cruise, it seems like the CM's are getting much funnier now adays on that ride!:thumbsup2

I'm so sad to have missed Jungle Cruise last year. For some reason, I couldn't convince the boys it would be fun :confused3

Tiki room? REally? I can't bring myself to even want to do this. I have heard rotten things about it but it seems like the minority of Disers who enjoy it REALLY like it. wierd!

My kids don't care for the JC. I like it and always laugh at the corny jokes.

I thought you were a good tour guide too! ;)

I will confess...I love the Tiki Birds (it was a childhood favorite) :rotfl:

love all the pics Stace!! The signs in the JC queue are a hoot!! The last 2 times i rode it was via fastpass... you miss a lot of that cool stuff!!

I like the tiki birds too!! It's a nice toe tapping respite...and there is NEVER a wait to get in! :thumbsup2

Well you're welcome my darling! It should be another good one for us all to do during Gnomefest! The skipper should get a hoot out of our group! Maybe Nobby could help steer the boat!:lmao:

Oh you're not far behind Jess, no worries! And you and Blake have great taste! Lion King and Aladdin are both great! I wish that Aladdin had been given a better, more featured ride since they could have done some amazing things with it! Way better than the flying carpets....Did you ever get to see Legend of The Lion King?

Looks like we have some more dates then Katie! :) You and me on the Jungle Cruise and you're going in the Tiki Room! It's true it is by no means as good as it used to be, but it is still cute and fun! You might like it, and if not, it's pretty short really!

My kids don't care for the JC. I like it and always laugh at the corny jokes.

Thanks Lana! Really you're kids don't like the Jungle Cruise? I've always enjoyed it! Great minds dearie, great minds! ;)

Thanks Paula! You know, I don't think I've ever used FastPass for the Jungle Cruise! And you're right about the Tiki Room! It's nice and cool and pretty inside, and I think there were about 3 other people in there with us!

Hey guys! Sorry it's been so long since the last updates but my life has this habit of swirling around me like a cyclone! My boss was gone to a conference so I was working a lot and my some family has been here to visit from Arizona! But, I am sick and there's only so much TV you can watch so I figured I would take this time to put out an update! Just don't get too close to the screen - I don't want you to get my germs!

SO, we left adventureland and headed up the ramps to the monorail to make our way over to Epcot. I, of course, took it as a photo opportunity!

Once we entered the park we took another ride on Spaceship Earth

Continued in next post

From Spaceship Earth we walked over to The Universe of Energy to experience Ellen's Energy Adventure! Now, I know most people find this ride pretty boring and a great place to take a nap, but I love it! DBFF Lauren doesn't care for it but I make her go on it! That's what friends are for! ;) We both enjoyed the pre-show with "Stupid Judy" and Bill Nye, and then Lauren settled in for her snooze while I enjoyed the dinos and such!

152_152.jpg

After we helped Ellen learn about energy and beat Stupid Judy, we decided we could use some lunch. We headed over to the Electric Umbrella! It wasn't very crowded and the food was okay, although they could really use one of the hot cheese dispensers!

153_153.jpg

154_154.jpg

Well, that's all for today. I need to head back to bed! Have a great day everyone!

Well this is a nice treat today! What is it about WDW counter service food that always looks so yummy? I don't mind Universe of Energy either. But I was surprised to see a line outside!

Hope you feel better soon!

Not that I want you to get sick or anything, but I do enjoy the updates. :)

Trent came in when I was looking at the Electric Umbrella menu. After he rolled his eyes because I was DISing, he started looking at the menu. Not surprising, he chose a #5 - the grilled chicken.

I hope you are feeling better. There's a lot of flu going around...I hope I don't get it. That's the last thing I need. :goodvibes

I love the monorail boarding shot with the Contemporary in the back. :thumbsup2

I don't remember Ellen's Energy at all. :confused3

We always eat at Electric Umbrella, good food choices there.

C - that line was long gone by the time we got there! It was the only time I saw a line there....in probably about 3 years!

Love love Love the pics you took from the monorail Stacy!! They are great!

P

Thanks P! I left out the ones that were totally ruined by my reflection!;)

Don't worry MeMom, antibiotics are wonderful things and I am feeling much better! And I will still update! And I would gladly eat with you and Trent at the Electric Umbrella anyday!

:goodvibes HAPPY CANADA DAY GIRL!!! :goodvibes

And Happy Canada Day back to you too! Granted it's nearly over now! Did you guys get the rain today too? Didn't see any fireworks on the way home tonight! I too hope you don't get the flu! Lauren just makes fun of me everytime I cough, whispering "swine flu! Swine flu!!" What a great friend...anyhow, you've never done Ellen's Energy Adventure? Most people hate it but I love it! It takes you through the evolution of the planet's energy sources from prehistoric times through to the present. You should definately check it out in the future!

So, we left off at Spaceship Earth! From there we headed over to the Living Seas pavillion to visit Nemo and Crush and all our Finding Nemo friends!
I love love love the "mine! mine! mine!" seagulls so I had Lauren take my photo with them!

157_157.jpg

And Lauren love love loves Crush so I took her photo with him!

158_158.jpg

While we had been outside in the Finding Nemo garden we had heard some man point at little Pearl (you know the cute little pink octopus , "you guys made me ink!") and go "What the h*ll is this little pig thing?!" This sent Lauren and I into gales of laughter! So when I saw her on the mural, we took this photo!

159_159.jpg

I sat and looked at the Stingrays the rest of the time, the fascinate me! If I were better at Science I would love to have done something marine biology!

160_160.jpg

161_161.jpg

We went in and saw Crush and learned about the Ocean!

162_162.jpg

We headed back up toward Test Track as we had gotten fast passes earlier and it was our time to ride! But I snapped some photos on the way too!

163_163.jpg

164_164.jpg

165_165.jpg

By this time it was starting to get dark and it was time for us to head out! We had places to go and people to see! As we were heading back to the monorail I spotted this! I do not know how people do this! How in the world could you be comfortable?!

166_166.jpg

We were then up the ramps to the monorail and on our way to the Grand Floridian for a Royal dinner! I'll continue in the next post! :)

Dinner was at 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella, Prince Charming (Oooh la la!), Lady Tremaine and her daughters. We checked in and waited for maybe 10 minutes before we were seated.

167_167.jpg

168_168.jpg

First we saw Lady Tremaine, who I have to admit is quite intimidating! I wouldn't want her as my step-mother either! She said to me "I don't see what you're smiling about..."

169_169.jpg

After she took off to dominate another table we hightailed it up to the buffet! I knew I wasn't going to find much that I liked here so I stuck to the kids' stuff mostly. I have to say, this food was not my favourite but Lauren thoroughly enjoyed it! Here is my boring little plate. I didn't get Lauren's for some reason

170_170.jpg

As we ate, Cindy and her fella came around to say hello!

173_173.jpg

For whatever reason, I always look terrible in my pictures with Cinderella! But she did like that she and her Prince were on my shirt!

176_176.jpg

About halfway through our seating all of the characters were given an official announcement and danced with kids! It was really sweet watching all the little girls with Cinderella and Prince Charming! It brought tears to my eyes!

175_175.jpg

But the best part of the experience by far was Drizella and Anastasia! They are simply hilarious and always in character! And they loved Lauren and I since I have dark hair and Lauren has red hair (although we of course were not as beautiful and charming as they are!). They asked if we were sisters and we said no, but that we had been best friends for a long time and were pretty much like sisters! Anastasia was thrilled!!! :rotfl: Oh she was funny! She grabbed Drizella's arm and says, "They're BESTIES!!! How cute are they?!" Drizella just said, "Not as cute as us!" and walked away! :lmao: I expected them to be funny but they were outstanding! They had everyone around us laughing! I highly reccomend seeing them if you're ever able to!

171_171.jpg

172_172.jpg

They came back past our table while we were eating dessert and patted us both on the head! Dessert was really great here! Especially the little chocolate Mousse cups! I tried the bread pudding which was nice and sweet but a little mushy for my taste.

177_177.jpg

Stay tuned for the rest of December 3rd! :)

Great finish to Epcot day :thumbsup2 (and what is up with those shoes :scared1:)

1900 Park Faire sounds like a LOT of fun!! It's on my someday list.

So nice to have a bestie
