Hi We are soon to return to WDW after 2 years and was just wondering what toy/souvenir your child bought/was given has stood the test of time? For my DS (then 4) it would be Rajah as he LOVES animals, for my DS (then 2.5) without a shadow of a doubt the plush doll Jasmine. It has not left her bed since we got home... I wonder what it will be this time... would love to know what your children have treasured!:wizard:

My kids LOVE the spinning light up toys. They are wonderful for them to use on dark rides that might otherwise be a little scary for them. I actually just bought a couple on clearance at the Disney Store to take with us on our fall trip - much cheaper than at WDW!
DD(almost 5) also loves the stuffed animals and we let her pick one each time. I always love getting them a few new shirts, too, b/c every time they wear them, we think of our trip! HAVE FUN!

I second both of these. - DS still loves the spinners he got, and took them to our 4th of July celebration. And T-shirts are MY favorite, too.

With out a doubt, it was Mr. Potato head and a Captain Hook hat with his name on it. We got the Potato head just last January at DL when he was 29 months old, but he's seen so much action:love:, I'm gonna have to get another box full for spares & replacements when we go to WDW in September! I'm also going to get another captain's hat because he can't decide if he wants to wear it, or watch me wear it!

DS5 bought one of the cheap hook hands. He walked around wearing it the entire trip. He even tried to use the hook for his fingerprint when entering the park. pirate:

Both of my boys bought one of the glow-in-the-dark string toys. (Sorry, I have no idea what they are called. :confused3 ) Those have been great! They took them to the fireworks on the 4th and had kids from all around us asking to play with it. It is really fun. :thumbsup2

My DD3 has a stuffed Minnie Mouse that I bought her almost 2 years ago. She still carries it with her everywhere, watches tv with it, and sleeps with it every night. Minnie has been in the bathtub, through the washer, and lost twice. Best $12 I ever spent!

DD8 loves her light-up Mickey ears but she won't turn them on because she's afraid of wasting the batteries. She wore those things every single day of our last trip and plans to bring them next time too.

my son's favorite he got 4 yrs ago and it is a buzzlight year transformer toy. it goes from buzz normal to a flying buzz. it is not a major change, it just changes like his transformers do and he loves it.

DS's favorite souvenir by far was the monorail. For a few years it was always set up in his room. Now that he is older we take it out at Christmas and put it under our Disney tree. He's had it for over 10 years and I can already see that it will be used for years and years to come.

This is a great and very helpful thread! Can someone post a picture of the light-up, spinning toys?

The boys love buying a pin for their lanyards and a mickey antenna topper for our cars. This way when we get in our car we are always reminded of disney.

We got the Magic Kingdom DVD last year. My 22 month old Ds LOVES it, in fact we are watching it right his second. Ds is moving his little hands up and down like the dolls in small world. :goodvibes

We also got Mr. Potato Head pieces but, I think mommy likes that. lol

DS9's favorites:

*Stitch plushes (has over a dozen of them)
* toy dinosaurs (the big ones they sell in Animal Kingdom...they feel kind of like rubber & the cast members tell you they are NOT to be submerged). They cost, I think, $16.00 each. DS has 5 of them now & loves them.

My dd loves the Ariel layered nightgown she got at a Magic Kingdom shop.

My ds enjoyed the Disney World Railroad Train that he got.. but it only worked for about three days or so, so I consider it a HUGE waste of $60. I still have the receipt but I doubt I can get my money back.

What is the Magic Kingdom DVD?

My DS got a big mickey on his first trip at 9 months. He is now 4 and he sleeps with him EVERY night.

My DD got a big minnie on her first trip at 11 monts. She is now 18 months and sleeps with her EVERY night...she also steals DS's Mickey and TRIES to sleep with both of them.

On our next trip...she will get a mickey of her own!

:dance3:
Great posts! I am now feeling a little guilty as DS asked for one of those spinning/light things and I said no...BUT it would so have helped him on the dark rides...will definitely get him one this time.

T-shirts, yes absolutely!

Isn't it funny what children latch onto, and sometimes which toys get discarded for months then all of a sudden are in favour again. My DD has that little plastic Aladdin character set that NOW (after months of being disowned) she's now playing with.princess:

Klineyqueen - I know what you mean about the kudos of bedtime toys...my DD & DS make me laugh as they now trade to each other their Disney cuddlies...on a loan basis only!!

My son loves books and he fell in love with the Winnie the Pooh ride too. So after riding it for the twentieth time, his Grandpa bought him the big Disney Storybook Collection Winnie the Pooh Storybook in Pooh's gift shop. My son looks through that book everyday and always tell us how Grandpa bought it for him at Pooh's house in Disney World.
