The best thing I ever ate @ wdw?

I can't narrow it down to one, but my top three would be the Maple Custard at the Canada kiosk during Food & Wine (last served in 2009), the Grand Marnier Souffle from Victoria and Alberts (I crave this hard core!!!) and the marinated Flank steak that used to be served at Boma. Thankfully my husband is a chef and we have the recipes for all three.

I tend not to take pictures of my food (I know, what is wrong with me), but...

Best appetizer: Smoked salmon and peas (can't remember what this was really called) at Rose & Crown a few years ago. It was incredible. My mouth is still watering just thinking about it. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and what it was actually called? This would be around 2006-ish?

Best entree: Grilled Marinated Lamb Loin at Jiko. My partner got this as his entree on our last trip (I got the duck) and I ended up eating off his plate. It was amazing. So incredibly juicy and tender and full of flavor. I wished I'd ordered it.

Best dessert: Ger's Bread & Butter Pudding at Raglan Road. No other dessert has ever come close. This was perfect.

That show is on the food network, hence the FN stars hosting it.....
DEFINITELY MUSHROOM FILET WOOT WOOT :woohoo:

My number one would have to be the Teriyaki Steak at Kona. This steak is the reason why DH and I make it a MUST on every trip. (first 3 photos taken with phone; sorry about the bad quality)

Second is at the Brown Derby. This was on the menu in April of '10. Alaskin Salmon & a crepe filled with white and black barley and asparagus. :cloud9: OMG it was amazing!! Unfortunately, it's no longer on the menu :confused3

This dessert was also at the Brown Derby in '09 & '10. I have not seen it on the menu yet this year. Strawberry Cheesecake:

Last, but not least.. Dole Whip Float :lovestruc

1)Mushroom Filet at Le Cellier;
far and away my favorite entree at WDW. I don't care about the breadsticks, the soups, the desserts, I need nothing else but this dish. I've never been big on steak but I'm a mushroom fanatic and I love risotto...the first time I had this dish I was floored by how delicious the risotto was, how tender the meat was, and how strong the mushroom flavor was. And while so many people seem to think it's not as good as it once was, for me it's been just as delicious every time!

2)Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes at Kona Cafe; I bought into the hype of tonga toast and while I enjoyed it, I wasn't blown over. Then on a next trip, I tried these pancakes. Greatest. breakfast food. EVER! Fluffy, nutty, fruity, filling, flavorful, fabulous!

3)Butternut squash soup at Boma/The Mara; I'm a big fan of squash and 'fall' flavors. When I had this soup at Boma, I fell in love. It had a much stronger nutmeg taste and creamier taste than any other butternut squash soup I've tried. Then I found it at The Mara, and lo and behold it was the exact same recipe! Too much deliciousness for a QS location!

4)School bread from Kringla in Norway; while it's not at all as amazing as it used to be, I still enjoy it. I adore all things coconut, and I've never been a fan of cream fillings, yet the cream here is so light and sweet and doesn't have that thick fake pudding taste. I also love the texture of the bread and how unusual it is for a pastry. I only wish they still were as big and as stuffed as they were a few years ago!

5)Fried plantains at San Angel Inn in Mexico; this is a strange one, but I love plaintains and bananas, so I ordered this side dish as an appetizer with our meal. The server (who was great!) told me back home he eats them with sour cream and sugar. It sounded a little odd to me, but he brought out a bowls of them and instructed me to dip the plantain in the cream and then the sugar...WOW! I don't know what it was about that combination but I could have happily eaten plantains for dinner and dessert too. Still one of my biggest disney food surprises ever!

The best thing I ever ate at WDW and the best thing I ever ate period are one in the same:

The potato wrapped snapper in leek fondue at the Flying Fish. Oh, to have it again. It was delicious and huge!

I still think about the pineapple and macadamia nut pancakes at Kona also. I wasn't even the one who ordered them, but I stole several bites! Mmmm.

Can't forget the gnocchi!

On the lunch menu at Tutto Italia:

And the ribs on the dinner menu at Sassagoula Floatworks:
(Better than Flame Tree, better than Cosmic Ray's, and dare I say better than many I've tried at TS restaurants too!)

I have many favorites, but my latest craving is the Chewy Caramel Squares from the new Caramel Shop at the German Pavilion. Shortbread crust (so tender) with a delicious soft caramel filling. So, so good...their Caramel Apples are also great, and I'm normally not a fan of them...no pictures though, it gets devoured too fast each time!

I also loved the Halibut with risotto and blood orange sauce at Artist Point last year, as well as the amazing hazelnut-sweet potato gratin side!

Mine has to be the Banana White Chocolate Toffee Tower dessert from Brown Derby! I am really keeping my fingers crossed that it will still be on the menu come Oct. It is the only "must" have dessert on my list!

macadamia nut crusted chicken with papaya marmalade and mashed potatoes with sho yu cream sauce from wolfgang pucks

the crab grateau and sauteed shrimp appetizers from citricos

don't remember the name they used but basically it was a mushroom en croute appetizer offered at the main building club level lounge with the evening snacks at grand floridian.

the little crab tostadas at la cava (with a pomegranate margarita of course lol).

the goat cheese used at la chefs de france on the cheese plate. i could make that my lunch and be perfectly happy.

scallops and the oak grilled swordfish from flying fish...ok now my mouth is watering.

ok, i have to add pixie sticks from the confectionery on main st. it's a nostalgia thing for us nothing more...great fun memories for my family tho so i had to add it.

One of my favorites used to be at Artist Point where you could get beef tenderloin over tillamook mac n' cheese. Unfortunately its been off the menu for many years now. Same for our once favorite desert there, coffee three ways.

Mine would have to be the BBQ Pork Ribs and the Pineapple-Coconut Bread at Spirit of Aloha. Those ribs are the reason we are willing to sit through that show over and over!

I agree with you Colleen27, my all time favorite is the spicy Kazan roll at CG. You can't beat the view! I also like a glass on Conundrum to go with it!

I'm not sure what my favorite is, but an earlier post reminded me about the wild boar at Jiko, which was just amazing. I had no idea what it would taste like, but it was nothing like what I would have guessed.

One dish I love that I never seem to hear about is the filet mignon at Teppan Edo. It's always extremely tender, and the preparation is very simple, which is what I like for steak. Another one is the calamari at Wolfgang Puck. It's my favorite calamari in the world.

In general, I've had lots of great fish at WDW. The famous Flying Fish potato-wrapped snapper is great. The "today's sustainable fish" at The Wave and Sanaa both come in really delicious broths. It often seems as if no one likes Coral Reef, but I really enjoyed the seared tuna I had there.

I have a hard time remembering desserts, but I know that my favorites were dessert trios (again, see Wave and Sanaa). Why have one dessert when you can have 3 :thumbsup2

I know this is best thing i ever ate but this is worthy of ate/drink
Grey goose and gran marnier slushi at epcot france.

YUM!
