With the dining plan we want to visit a reastaurant at each of these parks..MK, MGM, AK, and epcot, and Downtown disney.

Which restaurant on the meal plan at each park is worth going to with kids ages 4 and 6?

We were thinking Planet Hollywood at downtown
Flame tree Barbque at AK
Hollywood and Vine at MGM
Princess Storybook Dining at Epcot
and Fairytale lunch at Cinderella Royal Table At MK

Your Opinions???

Okay, I'll go first-(I have a DD6)
Unfortunately there is no table service at AK. I do like Flame Tree and Tuskers. Both about the same, maybe Tuskers a little bit more. I've heard good things about Pizzafari-the kids might like this too!
MGM-I've read some pretty bad reviews of HV. :sad2: We like Brown Derby but it may be hard to get small ones to sit still for that long. We like (and some disagree) Toy Story Pizza Planet (counter service). Plus the kids will love the added distraction of the arcade games.
Epcot-we liked the Storybook Princess-we've done breakfast twice and lunch once. But our favorite Princess meal is Park Faire 1900 for dinner. And it's just a short hop on the monorail from MK. We also like Le Cellier and Teppanyaki. We also like Cantina de San Angel for counter service Mexican.
MK-We haven't done Cinderella's. We like Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch (menu) or dinner (all you can eat-character) We also like Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bills for counter service.
Downtown-don't have a rec. there. We ate at Cooke's at Dublin (fish and chips) it was just okay.

Another favorite of ours is Kona Cafe at Poly. :cool1: Also short hop on monorail from MK. My DD6 loves the sticky wing appetizers-she makes a meal out of them and there's still a few left for me. :goodvibes

Happy Dining!

I'll restrict my choices to 1TS restaurants:

Magic Kingdom - Liberty Tree Tavern (dinner) - It was a good meal in a great atmosphere, great service, and wonderful character interaction.

Epcot - Chefs de France (dinner) - Not really for the kiddies, but still they'll enjoy it and it'll be a special treat for the adults.

Disney-MGM Studios - 50s Prime Time Cafe - Really good food, and the most fun at a theme park restaurant anywhere.

Animal Kingdom - There are no good TS options there. Save your TS credits for meals at the resorts. I recommend Boma, at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

thanks for the ideas....The opinions i read say it is best to forego the Cinderella meal at the castle. I can find another character meal for 1 credit. What Characters are at the Liberty tree tavern? How is Chef Mickeys at Disneys Contemporary Resort? Or Ohana Best Friends Breakfast?

Anyone gone to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique at Downtown Disney? I am sure my girls would love. Just not sure the best package to get?

What Characters are at the Liberty tree tavern?
At least these:

I'm pretty sure I remember Goofy too.

When we were at LTT, we saw Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, and Chip & Dale. I went over the character interaction we had with them in my dining review. The characters are only there at dinner and we thought the character interaction was outstanding.

Eating inside the castle is really neat, but I don't think it's worth 2 credits. I would pay OOP for that before using 2 TS credits. I've heard that one of the dining rooms at Akershus(Princess Storybook) is very similar to the castle, so that may be a bette option.

Ok the best for kids 4-6 wouldn't necessarily be my favorite or the best overall. Here goes.

MK Crystal Palace if you like Pooh. If you want Mickey, go to Chef Mickey's via monorail. If you want Cinderella, go to 1900 Park Faire at Dinner via monorail. 'Ohana would also be a good option via monorail.

Epcot. Teppenyaki or Princess Story Book.

MGM. Hollywood and Vine.

AK. None. Boma is nearby at AKL, or use it on a character meal elsewhere.

My kids were the same ages as yours when we went last time, and they loved Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, and Whispering Canyon, all for dinner.

This time, we're returning to those plus adding Princess Storybook at Epcot for DD who is now 4 and aware of those princesses. Plus we're also doing Boma and the Mama Melorse Fantasmic package as well as 'Ohana and Kona (we're staying at the Polynesian). I have not eaten at the last five spots yet, so I can't comment on the food personally. The first three, however, we liked enough to return this time.

IMO, Planet Hollywood is not worth it when you've got little kids like yours and when you've also got so many really good genuine Disney experiences in resorts and parks.

Okay whats th best to use onthe ddp. Looking for Characters, Mac & Cheese DGSand moneys worth on ddp. First time ever in2007. Help from you pros is badly needed

Well my favorite Character meals are
Chef Mickey's for the Mickey set, Crystal Palace for the Pooh set, and 1900 Park Faire for Cinderella all are pretty good. I saw Mac N cheese and kids stuff at all 3 dinners. Plus some good stuff for the adults. Keep in mind at buffets, menus can change.
Now if Princesses other than Cinderella are desired, Akershus has em. I've never been there. CRT has cindy and the other princesses at breakfast and lunch only. But I don't think that is worth 2 credits. Note the rest of the character meals are all one credit.

Hello. Our fav's were:
MK: Crystal Palace the breakfast was really good.
Epcot: Toss between Coral Reef/ and San Angel inn: Lunch or dinner is equally great.
AK: Donalds Restrauntosaurus we did breakfast and it was real good.
MGM: Hollywood and Vine we ate breakfast here and it was great.
These were all equally entertaining for my DS7.

Last May, our DD was 5, and our DS was 3 (almost 4). We tried the following character meals:

Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern - Characters are Goofy, Minnie, Chip, Dale, & Pluto. Character interaction was wonderful! Food is served family-style - roast beef, turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, mac & cheese, dressing, declaration salad w/ strawberry vinaigrette (yummy!), rolls, & apple cobbler. Everything except the mac & cheese was really good. The atmosphere of the restuarant is nice too - cool & relaxing. We had a great server as well.

Princess Storybook Dinner at Akershus (Norway) in Epcot - We saw the following princesses: Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella (not normally at Akershus), & Jasmine. Character interaction was excellent - even better than at Cinderella Royal Table. The inside of the restaurant is lovely too - very "country" castle. However, we did not care for the food at all - DH's fish was lukewarm; my pasta was dried out & "clumpy". However, I think the menu has changed a bit since last May, and we could have been there on an "off" night. This year, we're trying breakfast instead.

Lunch at Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom - Characters are Pooh & Friends. Character interaction was really good - except we had to wait forever to see Pooh. The buffet selections were so yummy - traditional buffet items w/ some not-so-traditional items as well. The mandarin orange vinaigrette salad dressing was delicious! And the corn pudding, spoon bread, frittata, & bread pudding were great as well. The inside of the restaurant is so pretty - w/ some great views of the castle.

Breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table - We saw the following princesses: Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Mary Popins, Snow White, & Wendy from Peter Pan. The Fairy Godmother was in the lobby. (The CRT meals have changed a bit this year, however. Cinderella is in the lobby for all 3 meals, and the other princesses circulate among the tables for breakfast & lunch. The Fairy Godmother & Suzy & Perla are there at dinner.) We enjoyed our meal, and the character interaction was nice as well - though a bit rushed. This year, we're trying lunch at CRT.

Breakfast at Chef Mickey's - To me, this is the quintessential Disney dining experience! The monorail running above the restaurant is very cool & exciting for kids. There are singalongs & napkin-twirling too. The following characters are normally there for breakfast: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy (in the lobby), Pluto, Chip, & Dale. On the day we were there, Mickey was extremely rushed - but all the other characters were really good. The buffet has typical buffet breakfast items.

Last May, we also ate at the following non-character restaurants:

Breakfast at Trail's End at Fort Wilderness - We were staying in a cabin at FW, so we wanted to try Trail's End. Typical buffet items - but fresh & hot. Very good value here as well.

Dinner at Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge - yummy! Perfect ending to our day at Animal Kingdom! There are plenty of selections on the buffet - even for picky eaters & for children. The AKL is gorgeous, & the castmembers are so friendly!

Dinner at Hollywood & Vine at MGM for a Fantasmic Dinner Package - Of all the places at which we ate, this was our least favorite. The hot items on the buffet were cool, and the cold items on the buffet were warm. Many of the selections looked "dried out", & we were there fairly early in the evening (6:00 pm). The tables are extremely close together - you feel like you're sitting w/ the people next to you. And the restaurant is very noisy - but not a fun kind of noisy. This year, we're trying Mama Melrose's for our FDP.

Dinner at 'Ohana at the Poly - yummy! This was our last evening meal - beautiful view of the castle. Cocunut & hula hoop races make it a fun atmosphere for the kids as well.

Our favorite counter service restaurants were Columbia Harbor House in the Magic Kingdom, Sunshine Seasons at Epcot (Future World), Toy Story Pizza Planet at MGM, Flame Tree BBQ at Animal Kingdom, & Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney.

thanks for tips i had picked some of them but will look closer at others. As for
ac and chees he loves it anyway ,boxed homemade whatever; Iplan to have ADR for all table service meals but want options for counter so we can be more flexible in park

Here are our choices:

MK: You can't beat CP for breakfast if you have the first reservation of the day before the park opens. The food is yummy and you will get photos of an empty Main St. and castle. DS told me it was the best bacon he has ever had, and he knows bacon! For lunch we enjoy LTT. We always loved lunch and dinner at CT, but it really isn't worth the 2 credits they are now charging.

EPCOT: Le Cellier and Les Chefs De France both have yummy food. DS loves the steak at Le Cellier and the hamburger at Les Chefs. He also likes the atmosphere at San Angel.

MGM: DH and I prefer 50's PT, and DS likes Sci-Fi for the "drive-in" experience. We had a bad experience in the past at HV and won't return.

AK: The only sit down is Rainforest Cafe, which DS loves. If you don't care for that, Boma is near by and is yummy. ENJOY!!

Finally months later here is my decision on meals. We do not have the DDP. we got separate room reservations, and Annual passes, so we got the Disney Dining Experience card for 20% off meals. We are going from May19th to May 26th. This is our meal plan:

Saturday...we are just winging it, maybe a pizza at the resort.

Sunday... Crystal Palace Breakfast @ 8:25am
(MK) Pinocchio Village Huas for Lunch
Liberty Tree Tavern for Dinner @ 6:05pm

Monday...Breakfast in Room
(AK) Flame Tree BBQ for Lunch
Rainforest cafe for dinner at AK @6pm

Tuesday...Breakfast in Room
(Epcot) Liberty Inn for Lunch
Princess Storybook Dining for dinner @6:05pm

Wednsday...Chef Mickey's for Breakfast @ 9am @ Contemporary
(at resort) Lunch at resort
Order pizza for dinner at resort
Going to FW for Hayride in the evening this night.

Thursday...Breakfast in Room
(MGM) ABC Commissary for Lunch
1900 Park Fare for dinner at the GF for Cinderella @ 6pm

Friday... Breakfast in room
(DT) Lunch in Downtown Disney
Dinner at the magic Kingdom

Taking the kids to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique this morning. Where should we eat lunch in DT and Dinner in MK this day?

We will try to take advantage of the extra magic hours when possible in the evening, depends on the kids and how they hold up I guess. We will try to do one of the firework shows, which should we most definitly try to make?

By the way we are staying at the All Star Movie resort!
