Our Favorite: The Tusker House in Animal Kingdom.

Thanks to the lovely French lady in guest relations in DHS who recommended it! We loved it. Why:

1) It was not crowded at all (couldn't even get reservations in Tony's; Le Cellier; ok could not get reservations ANYWHERE), and it is awesome.
2) Awesome selection and Buffet means eat as much as you want.
3) The best and most diverse of the food I've seen at any restaurant.
4) Incredibly friendly staff (probably due to #1 above)

The only down side was there were so many good foods, that the buffet style makes you want to eat EVERYTHING and then you either spend too long there or you are too stuffed to do anything afterwards.

SO, I would love to hear some other people's opinions as to the best and/or most overlooked Disney Restaurant - as I've never been to so many!

Le Cellier best we've had by far. Trails End doesn't always get mentioned but is a great value buffet

I think my best overall meal has been at California Grille..I dream about that sushi:cloud9:

Another vote for Tusker House and Sanaa! There are other's I love, like Jiko's...but they are not overlooked....

hmmm i'ma go another way and say i think the most overlooked restaurant is H&V at dhs. I went there with low expectations after reading many reviews here. Our main reason for even going to this one was for my 2yo ds who loves handy manny and little Einstein’s. But as it turned out it was probably the 2nd best buffet (after tuskar house)and 3rd best meal the whole week we were there (dxdp so there were alot of meals) And the characters were sooo fun much better imo then CP or 1900park fair (Love those characters but they just weren’t as fun)

I have to agree with the poster who mentioned Trail's End at Ft. Wilderness. They have a great BBQ buffet at one of the best prices on property. The downside is the bus ride to get from the parking lot to the restaurant. But it is well worth the trip. I also am a big fan of lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern. It is a quiet, calming break from the chaos of the park and the Pilgim's Feast (turkey platter) is one of my favorite meals.

Hard to say that any restaurant is "overlooked" at WDW. That said, (and perhaps because they are not on the dining plan), I think Blue Zoo and Il Mulino are underappreciated. Blue Zoo is better than Flying Fish and is right up there with the best that Disney has to offer. Yet you can get an ADR on a moment's notice most nights. Il Mulino is definitely the best Italian restaurant on the property, but it too sees nowhere near the traffic of lesser places.

Overlooked, I would have to say Olivia's, we had a wonderful meal here last year while staying @ OKW.

I agree. Although I was surprised at how busy both of these places were last week. We ate at Il Mulino on a Sunday and bluezoo on a Friday and they were both packed, something I've never experienced at either place before.

Maybe the best kept secret is out now?

BOMA! i suggest it to all my disney friends and they have never heard of it!!! (its hard to get them to venture out and try something they dont normally go to) but i have gotten my family to LOVE boma!!!

Totally agree! I didn't even CONSIDER this restaurant, but we were on DxDDP, so instead of QS for lunch at AK we tried Tusker House, I loved it. Such a great variety instead of the boring typical buffet food!

I would have to say the Captain's Grille at the YC - had no expectations (especially when it was empty) - but the food was awesome and relatively reasonable by Disney standards!

One of my favorites (certainly not the *best*;)) but is often overlooked, is The Plaza. Folks on the Dining Plan tend to shy away from it because they don't think it is the best *value* on the Plan...but I think it is a fabulous use of a Dining Credit as well as a reasonable OOP meal.
The sandwiches (love the reuben and the cheesesteak) are excellent, and the fries alone are worth a visit...thick cut steak fries :lovestruc, and the desserts are crazy:upsidedow yummy.
