not much. just attempting to study for my religion test tommorow. xD
my softball coach asked today if anybody wanted to help out with the special olympics for new jersey so me and my friend said we would so we're helping out and stuff! gosh I'm so excited. I'm waiting for my email with all the stuff haha

I was in them for a few years (actually, more like 6) here, then school/finals/etc. got in the way and I couldn't go.

Wow, yours is thick! It reminds me of the Beatles, hehe.
really?!
i always thought i had a really mild accent that you couldn't even tell where i'm from ahah
although, one time this welsh person said that she couldn't tell where my parents were from (they messed up their accents by living in scandinavia and south africa) but they could really tell i was a scouser >.<

Speaking of scouse accents, Jim Sturgess' fake one in Across the Universe sounded pretty authentic to me. I thought he was Irish or something at first though.

So... First part of the experiment was 45 students were split into 5 groups of 9. They watched videos of car crashes and were asked questions on them, including how fast the cars were going at the time of impact. At this question, the verb used to describe the impact (contacted, hit, bumped, smashed, and collided) were changed for each. It showed that the perception of speed changed as the verb changed. This shows that people's memories can be changed by leading questions.

The second part of the study was done on 150 students, split into 3 groups of 50. They were again shown videos of car crashes and asked questions, including a speed question where one group had smashed, one had contacted, and one not asked (control group). Then a week later, they are asked questions again. One of the questions was whether they saw glass (there wasn't any). The smashed group has a significantly higher amount of yes (I think 16?) compared to the collided and control group (which were 8-9, I think)

I forgot to mention, because all the participants were students, you can't generalise the results to adults as memory gets worse over time so the results might be different.

You guys have just learnt a study on memory by Loftus & Palmer which has stopped the use of leading questions in court.

Hmm... Two ways to change the study... Use a wider range of ages to participate (but this would need a larger amount of participants to take full advantage of it) and they could use a re-enactment (but the participants would need to be unaware of what was going on, and could be traumatic which is unethical)

I really hope the Loftus & Palmer study comes up as a choice.

LOL I have been told that I have a heavy Jersey accent.
My friends who live with me in Jersey even have trouble understanding me.
My friend Taylor gets mad because I can't say her name right. It comes out more like "Teeeeeaaaal-lor"

lmaoo xD
so i sound the same as that?
'cause that seems a lot stronger than my accent..

Yours is a bit less thick. But it's still noticeable. To me at least. I wanna see if you guys can notice my accent now...but I don't have a camera.
