The best laid plans... the good, the bad and the REALLY ugly * 7 nights in May 09

Tim did the same thing that carlos did. He knows best and those silly disbuddies don't know a thing. That lasted a day. :rotfl:

We haven't heard from the PF....do we?
At first I was like - "He ate chocolate ice cream with gummies too?" :rotfl2::lmao:

Oh yes, he knows it all. :rolleyes1

We too fell in love with CSR in March (don't know if I already said that or not!). We hadn't planned on it but ended up eating quite a few times at the PM because it was really good and usually empty. However you probably take the cake on the number of times eating at Maya Grill and PM in one trip! Did they give you anything for free on your last day??

The daddy juice made me laugh! My DS is currently obsessed with getting Daddy his 'juice' from the fridge. I'm always telling people "he really doesn't drink it he just likes to help out!" :rolleyes1

Can't wait for more!
It is a beautiful place. I just wished we had gotten the Cabanas like I requested - anything but where we were. It was sooooo far from the front. I actually wouldn't mind staying there again, but after those walks - I think I would like to try somewhere else.

And definately would like to try somewhere else to eat. Funny thing - as much as we ate there, I don't think we ever saw the same person twice. I thought that was seriously strange!

Yes, I am now the queen of eating at PM & MG. DH heard about that too.

Oh, Nicolas can top that. If Carlos is grumpy, he'll go get him one without being asked. I think the record was 11:38 am! :rotfl2::lmao:

Lorrie Mia is just theeeee cutest .. i loove the look on her face on the Safari and how cute does she look with her little cheeks painted, so so scrumptious :cutie:
And man Nicolas has really grown up in that yr .. it's crazy hey and a little scary!!
Loving the TR
Thanks Erin! She is a mess! But a cute, funny mess! :goodvibes Nicolas is really grown too. It is so funny how they grow over a year. I told you last time I saw CJ I was like... :scared1:! She had grown so much from the last pic.

I went to to Disney the same time. May 1-10th. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. I have heard a lot of people say good things about CSR. I am trying to decide on whether to do a TR or not. I will probably start one in a few more days. Maybe we will see each other in our pictures. :lmao:

I have a Mia also. She turned two on May 2nd. Her hair is a lot like your Mia's. I love your TR. My husband complained the whole time about money. I always have to make everything as smooth as possible so that he will want to spend the money again next year.

We did the Stitch ride last year, and I will never do that again!!! I took my then 6 and 5 year old on it. They screamed and cried the whole time and I couldn't even hold their hands to comfort them because they have these big heavy shoulder rests on you. I kept waiting for it to turn into a ride or something since there was a height restriction, but all it was was a dark, stinky horrible show. My five year old was ruined the rest of our trip that year as well. He was also scared on everything we went on.

You are doing such a good job at keeping the updates coming. :cool1: I feel like I am right there with you.
Wasn't the weather lovely? :scared:

And another one with Mia's hair. It can look cute at times, but mostly it is a big mess! And she rips the bows out faster than I can put them in. :headache:

Mental note - future visits, find out when I'm going and stay the heck away! We went last year - record lows. The day we were at DHS it was 45 IN MID APRIL! Now record highs. I got to the panhandle and all is fine, I go to Orlando and the weather just likes to mess with me! :confused3

Well, I thought the TR would be fun. I have read so many trying to get tips and learn - so I thought I would give back for what it is worth. It is actually kinda fun. :)

I wanted to experience Stitch before we left just to see what the heck had happened. I'm sure Carlos glossed over a few parts. :rolleyes1 We just never got to do it.

Really enjoying your TR! Your kids are adorable!
Thank you! Glad you could join us here! :goodvibes

I was quoted in the TR!!!! :rotfl2: All I have to say is, MEN, silly, silly MEN! :sad2: They day they learn to listen to us, will be the day we achieve world peace..... :rolleyes1
Oh just wait, at a point I threatened to call you! :rotfl2::lmao:

Well, upon arrival I noticed this cute little clock shapped paper laying there on the table. It was a bounceback offer. :cool1:

Originally I had planned to do a surprise 10th anniversary trip next year, because after 10 years of doing nothing, I'm taking control of our anniversary activities. :thumbsup2

Well, turns out the offer is just on selected dates through 2009 - :headache:

But wait - it is for 30% off, and it appears that one of the weekends is very close to my birthday.

So I just file that in my mind and go on. That will come in handy at just the right moment.

See, Carlos' plan is this Disney trip and one more when the kids are much older. Disney, checked off, done - and back to our beach vacations each year.

And then there is me...

:stir:

I'm hopelessly hooked.

So an hour after dosing off, we are woken by Nicolas crying.

I smack Carlos on the leg at this point. I know what this is about.

Nicolas "Bad Stitch is going to get me".

I lay there and think of 100000 things to call Carlos, none nice. :rolleyes1

So we settle him down.

Carlos then smartly tells him : "You know buddy, that is just a puppet. Nothing is real - all puppets. People were controlling it, the harnesses were what was making it feel like he was on your shoulders, the noise was controlled by the people, nothing in that ride - nor the other rides are real.

Me - boy this sure is a bright one here I married.

Thirty minutes later - same thing

One hour later - same thing

All night, every so often - same thing.

So about 4 am, I look at Carlos and say "man, that was a great move there."

After almost 12 years, you'd think he would have learned by now - but nooooooooooooooooo! :rolleyes1

I forgot to put this in there.

Remember the pool slide at CSR? I think I read somewhere it is the longest on Disney property. It is cool - but I felt like Mia was way too young for this.

Guess who she goes to?

"Daddy, I wanna water slide".

Me - :scared1::sad2::scared1: :sad2: :scared1:

So they - two men- tell me it is tame to try it out. So I ride it with her once to see how it is.

:scared1: It moved pretty quick and was pretty long to put a 2 year old on.

Well - she LOVED it! LOVED IT LOVED IT!

I about had a heart attack for the 5 times she did it. Each time being down at the bottom to catch her - hating Carlos for making me do it, and worried sick she was going to be scared.

The lifeguard was great. He said kids as young as 17 months had done it.

17 months? :confused3:scared1:

Maybe I'm just overprotective, but that was definately a very bad portion of my trip. I honestly think I kept her napping longer than I would have in the room to avoid them at the pool and that stupid slide!

Oh lord. Can you imagine if we got Mia and katie together. They would be unstoppable. Heavan bless the cm that would tell them no. LOL!!!

Well, the CM might just be okay if there were walls around that looked like they needed licking! :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

She actually told one "not nice" when they told her no the second time she tried to get on Barnstormer.

I have a feeling that this one is going to be more than a handful. :rolleyes1

So we stopped at Pepper Market (imagine that) to have lunch. Nicolas had really enjoyed the oreo cake we had gotten before so he asked for some. I was mentioning during ordering it was for my son's birthday - the nice CM says he'll take care of it.

About 5 minutes later, most of the staff came out singing to him with this piece of cake. He LOVED it! He is so not shy and really enjoys the attention! So we all sung and he had a blast. It was the best thing next to being home and having a cake here!

Next on his list? Swimming and the slide of course. He loved that slide!

We opened a few gifts in the room -

Mia and I rest, the boys hit the pool - we join them for a bit. Then it is time for dinner. We have ADRs for CM that night.

Nicolas: " I WILL NOT go to CM's. Mickey is for girls and babies. I am not a girl or a baby. I am 5. I want to eat here!"
Me: to myself - goodness, two of them?

So I call and switch our ADR from CM's to Maya Grill. :headache::rolleyes1

We go there and have a good dinner. Everyone is happy to be there rather than CM's, that is for sure. Just see for yourself!

And then I noticed the "Daddy Juice" and moved it out of the way so people don't think he is celebrating his 21st. :rolleyes1
IMG_0634.jpg

Now, spent 2 hours there. Dinner was perhaps one of the better ones. I had Snapper. The Empanadas were to die for! They had a great chocolate tres leches cake too. The entree was just okay. The salad I had was not my thing, and I love most salads. Very bitter. I'm not down with bitter.

So we headed back to the room to get some rest.
:lmao: That's the exact same face I make when there is some ice cold "daddy juice" in front of me:rotfl2:

Quick all of you call my husband and tell him while we are at Disney he has to follow my every command:rotfl2:
I actually made him read about your DHs dissention and told him - see If you don't do as I say you'll mess everything up:rotfl:
He's decided this is a cult:lmao:

Well it only took me forever to get here. I am so glad I did I am loving all of the pictures. Mia and Nicolas are growing so fast. I hate stitch and don't blame Nicolas for not liking it. I would have been up all night too!

Checking in....loving the TR.

Lorrie, you get the DIS award for Most Patient Wife. ;)

Your babies are adorable! I'm sorry Nicholas had such a hard time with his buddy Stitch's ride. I'm wondering if the enormous plush Stitch made up for it?

I'm concerned that my 22 m/o Emmie is going to be a daredevil, too. She is definitely showing signs of it - she can already put her 3 1/2 y/o brother in his place.

Well I learned my lesson. Last night I asked him "do you want to go to AK on our trip". He said "No" I said "okay, just in fairness that is the only input you will have on this trip!" :lmao::rotfl2:

Hi there Jillian! Thanks for the loving of the pics! Maybe it is good I don't know what he saw in Stitch. I would have probably kicked Carlos' butt!

Patient - nah. I get frustrated a lot, but we do have a good relationship. For the most part, he'll do whatever to make me happy so I cut him a lot of slack. And I know if I REALLY were to have put my foot down he would have listened... well - IF he thought I was right. :rotfl2:

It is kinda like the I love Lucy show around here. :lmao:

Emmie will probably want to do everything your DS does. What gets us into trouble is Nicolas is a very BIG 5 year old. 97% in everything - weight = 60 lbs, 47 inches tall. So he can ride most everything. Not that he wants to, but when Mia saw him riding KRR 5000 times and laughing his butt off, she wanted in on that party. She wasn't happy when I had to tell her no. :sad2:

Then we rode TS and she looked at me like - "And you think this is the same?" :rotfl2:

Gimme his number.... QUICK!!!! Just tell your DH to drink the kool-aid and hush, everything will be fine! :rotfl2:

So I've told you of the love of the Mouse - right? Mia has been instantly hooked on the Mouse. She has loved Princesses since 4 months -

At that age, she grabbed a rag doll Snow White off the Disney Store shelf and been all about them ever since. So we were floored when they were upstaged by "Mouse". She likes the others, but Mickey is her guy.

So we were in the gift shop, buying more "Daddy Juice" :rolleyes1 and she saw him and screamed with glee... "BABY MOUSE"!

And the rest is history. Her baby doll Gigi, has been replaced by Baby Mouse. We go no where without him.

:lmao: You girls are cracking me up. My husband kept calling our vacation the Rebecca Smith production since I planned everything. Finally on our last Epcot day he said he really wanted to get a hot dog at the lunch place in Germany, and since he didn't get to plan or pick anything out on the trip I should make this possible. Well, I felt bad and told him that I really wanted to go to Sunshine seasons for our counter service because I had heard it was one of the best counter services, but we would go get him that hot dog in Germany since that was the one and only thing he really had his heart set upon. Well, we get to Germany and he orders the bratwurst. Needless to say, when he took his first bite I could see the disappointment on his face. He sets it down and says, " I can not eat that. It is the most disgusting thing I have ever eaten in my life." :rolleyes:Then I decide to just rub it in a little bit that I am always right and that is why I planned all of our meals. I have not gone wrong yet.:dance3: I can now bring this moment up every time he wants to do something that I don't want too. I do not like hot dogs and all they had were hot dogs and bratwurst's at this place.

You gals are cracking me up today!

I so needed that - seriously. Today is Nicolas' last day of preschool, and I didn't think I would take it as rough as I am. I'm just not ready for him to grow up. It seems like he has aged a year or two over the past couple of weeks.:sad1:

I'm toying around with starting a pretrip too. After all, I'm at the 180 mark, and even though I have BEEN there three times, I still feel like such a novice. :headache:

Hope everyone is having a great day! :flower3:
