The best Character Meal/restaraunt for a first timer.

We are bringing my son's GF with us, they are both 18. She was on a small trip in Feb for the pin event but we did no meals or extras.

I would love to show her the "real" disney spirit. So what would your pick for a character meal be?

What would be your best disney restaraunt also?

Before you decide, find out if there are certain characters that she absolutely loves.

If she is Pooh fan, then I would suggest Crystal Palace for breakfast.

If she is a Princess Fan, there is nothing like eating in Cinderella's castle... however those PS are very had to get, but the Storybook Princess Breakfast is a great alternative. Or she could have dinner with Cinderella and her friends at 1900 Park Faire.

If she likes Donald, then Donald's Breakfastosaurus at AK.

If she likes Minnie, Goofy and the Gang, then go to lunch at Hollywood and Vine. This is a huge favorite of ours!

And if Mickey's her man (err Mouse) then Chef Mickey's.

However, if you want the best breakfast, a combination of characters that you don't ordinarily see and great service, go to our favorite... 1900 Park Faire for breakfast! The characters there can include Mary Poppins, Bert, Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter, Pooh, Eeyore or Tigger. There are usually 5 of the characters there, 1 or 2 greeting in the lobby and the rest circulating throughout the restaurant.

We love Chef Mickey, we find this to be pure Disney. A fun meal any time.

Another of our favorites his past trip was the Princess Storybook Breakfast in Norway.


I also would recommend Dinner in the Castle we love this meal. Even better if you can get a window seat overlooking Fantasyland. Very Magical.

We also love "50" Prime Time Cafe. Lots of fun.

This past trip we visited Mexico for the first time. I have always avoided this restaurant because of the reviews. We requested a water seat. Made our meal around the appetizers. It was a hit with everyone. Great Margaritas.

Whatever your choices are have a wonderful trip.

Two recommendations...one for breakfast, one for dinner.
Breakfast: Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. Nothing quite like it. Great character interaction (Goofy in a chef outfit greets you)...tremendous choice of food...all while a monorail occasionally streams thru the lobby!
Dinner: Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom. You feel like you're in an old colonial restaurant, or Martha Washinton's house, surrounded by Disney characters in early American garb. Very good turkey and stuffing and ham..similar to a Thanksgiving meal.
There may be better meals at Disney, but for the specific purpose of a "pure Disney experience", I don't think anything tops either one of those.

Chef Mickey's is great, but what girl wouldn't want to meet the princesses of Disney? Cinderella's Breakfast is by far the most magical character meal. Whether you are a young D-girl or and adult D-girl, you will not be dissappointed. Remember, every girl is a princess!

Way before dd was born, dh and I did many weekend getaway trips to WDW. Our favorite breakfast was Cape May Cafe. And, it wasn't just because the food was good, the characters were fun! They had Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale and now Minnie greets you in front. I thought this was a good one even for the "older" kids

I agree with cd&kids, but you really do need to see what her favorite characters are. We loved Chef Mickey's, Liberty Tree Tavern and Cinderella's Royal Tabel. Good Luck!!

I would have to vote for Cinderalla's Royal Table breakfast. I am 30 years old and I still feel like a princess myself when I go there!! The little girl in me that used to love reading about all the princesses and their Prince Charmings comes out as soon as I set foot in the door. I even get excited when the characters come over to talk to us. The first time we went I thought I would feel a bit silly but the characters do such a great job of staying in character even when they are talking with adults that it didn't seem weird at all. My DH thinks it's hysterical that I get so excited when Prince Charming comes over!!

Another vote for breakfast at Crystal Palace. It is our favorite meal in all of WDW. We go there at least twice during our week long stay. The food is great, atmosphere is beautiful and character interaction is the best around.

I vote for CRT and crystal palace for breakfast. Great interaction. I recommend late reservations you get the best interaction as the restaurant empties out
