The Berkshires

then maybe you need to stop playing your little card games(Dungeons and Dragons)and get out more!! because I see them EVERYWHERE!

D&D is not a card game. If you are actually interested in what it is, I'd suggest you check out www.enworld.org or PM me. Sorry but I just couldn't let that go. ;)

Back to your regularly scheduled thread! (sorry for the semi hijack Diana, I hope you find the advice you are seeking!)

Geez. It's another let's beat up DWhittles thread because my life is so much better than hers.
:sad2:
Do what you want with your hair. I wouldn't worry about what people on the DIS think. You live in NYC. I see a lot of different hair styles here.
LOL, for the record I'm not seeing it like that at all. These folks are trying to help and I appreciate it more than anyone knows...

LOL,
it's okay! You have to defend yourself too! D&D is a very complicated intricate game and like chess, I'm fascinated by it.

I know what it is hon....I managed a toy store, I thought little kids played it! I know no mature adults who play it!

oh, but chess is MY game! never been beat! :wizard:

oh this is the store I used to manage ...not to mention my best friend is a VIP with Hasboro....I have, seen, touched, sold just about any game that has come out!!!

Why can't you get this done in NYC? I would think there would be a million places that would be able to do what you want?

Really? I find that very surprising since most of the books are written for people with at the very least 12th grade reading skills, but most of them are actually even higher than that. :confused3 Check out www.enworld.org. My group consists of an elementary schoolteacher, 2 engineers, a manager of a tech companies' help desk and myself. My old group, we actually had a priest who played with us. :) I've been to conventions for gaming where I haven't actually even seen any children. Didn't even start playing myself until I was in my latter years of college. I'd think most kids would find it rather boring... :confused3 You have to be thinking of something else, maybe Pokemon or something.

I don't mean to be rude again, but my SO works for Wizards of the Coast and they have not had a store in this area in a long, long time. If ever. :confused3 I know they have stores, but I can't recall the last one that was here. So I'm a bit befuddled. But again, we should really start a new thread for this and quit hijacking Diana's...

I find it odd that you worked for an official Wizards' store and did not know what D&D even was. You said in an earlier post that it was a card game. :confused3 I'm not going to continue to hijack Diana's thread any more. If you'd like to discuss via PM or start a new thread, that's fine, but this has nothing really to do with what she's asking.

Not sure how much maintenance you will need since I am a natural platnuim blonde :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: but won't you need touchups every few weeks? Will you have time with your 2 little sweet ones? I think if I was you and I was wanting somethig different I would at least go for something easy to maintain.

Chess huh? My DH is actually going to play in the World Open in Philly. He's leaving tomorrow night and won't be back till Tuesday. He's so excited and nervous. Do you play in any tournaments or online anywhere?

I was going to get it done in the Berkshires beacuse my mother and sister will both be with me and can watch the kids together. It's just easier on my mommy is all...

Diana,

Just another suggestion...maybe what you really need is a Diana Day. Have your mom and sis watch the boys for one day, and treat yourself to a day at a spa, and maybe a haircut at a nicer salon; chestnut brown dye job optional ;) . We all need to relieve some stress sometimes, and if you can afford it, you should go for it.

Natural platnium? I hate you!!!
I actually spent about 10 years in my youth with huge rocker chick platnium blonde hair.
I think actually going to the salon will FORCE me to take some me time away from the kids for a few hours every 6 weeks or so. My mom has agreed to watch the two of them whenever I need to go provided it works around her schedule.

oh, wish him luck!! no, I play local people around my area....I am pretty new, I started playing 1 1/2 ago. it came very natural to me! my next trip to disneyI wanted to get the Aliceinwonderland set... in England!

I have seen people in their 20's dye their hair all kinds of colors but they were usually artistic types or maybe hairdressers. And I live in the conservative area of north Texas. Dwhittles, if it makes you happy I say go for it!

I've also known of older D&D players (even a few who were *gasp* middle-aged) but I did notice that most were men. The same with online play unfortunately. I can't imagine little kids being able to make sense of D&D manuals!
