In a nutshell, when I left him last year, we discussed leaving her with him for 2 weeks while I got set up in an apartment since she had EVERYTHING there with him, and I had only $300 to my name. When I came back for her (I had been seeing her during the 2 weeks, but when I came to take her full time) he said I couldn't have her. He's threatened to call the police if I take her any longer. He's a bully, and has threatened all sorts of things, so I'm still pretty scared of him.

The temporary custody hearing is May 27th, and I hope and pray that I get her. She needs to be with me, in a more stable enviroment. Thank you to everyone keeping us in your thoughts...I really appreciate it.

Yep, and you better make sure your lawyer doesn't get stuck with the bill for your depo because his lawyer should have hired his own court reporter. He's legally required to send you a notice either directly to you or through your lawyer. And if I were you, if you get itemized bills from your lawyer, you better make sure you're not charged for your own depo.

Apart from that, custody battles are always hard. It's good that your lawyer caught him in a lie though.

My lawyer caught him in several lies and pointed them all out. I really want to read the transcripts from the depo since I'm still in shock that he lied so much.

I didn't know that his lawyer had to hire his own court reporter. I'll have to contact my lawyer and ask about that. Thanks!!

Steph, I was actually thinking about you today because I remembered that you said your court date was yesterday. I'm praying so hard that it will all go your way. I don't think his issues have any ground at all. I have a friend that was in a similiar situation a few years ago with her daughter and the fact that you have only one bedroom didn't matter to her judge because the little girl still had her own space (her own bed, own drawers for her clothes, space for her toys), and the thing about her cutting her own hair, well, if that was child neglect or whatever, I can't tell you how many people would be considered unfit! I would be one of them because 2 out of my 3 have given themselves a hair cut before!
Just keep yourself together and it will work out in yours and Maddy's favor. You are a strong person to put up with all of this. I don't know if I could stay so stronge. Good Luck!
