November 26, 2004 - Friday (Review)
Upcoming August 2005 trip - (Preview)

The decorations were going up in the parks and it was just beautiful. It had been awhile since my "human family" had been to DW with the Christmas decorations up. It just added a little extra something.

My family decided to take the bus from the Dolphin to the Magic Kingdom today. They only had about a 10 minute wait outside the hotel and soon it arrived at the park. They immediately got a fast pass to Space Mountain. Astro Orbiter was a walk-on so they did that. Buzz Lightyear had a 10 minutes wait - did that. Snow White - 5 minute wait, walked on the Carousel (somehow it reminded my Mom of riding the Dumbo ride), and made their way to Pirates. Today, the line seemed shorter so they took the "right side" line and walked straight to the boat and got in. The 3 of them had their own boat! Big Thunder was next with a 4 minute wait (the teenager likes to time the waiting time), then they walked on Haunted Mansion, then got a FP for Pooh. The Barnstormer was a 15 minute wait but they always enjoy it. They decided to use their fast passes for Space Mountain, and it was still a 15 minute wait! The Peoplemover was next and the lights were on in Space Mountain! (My family has also ridden Space Mountain with the lights on one time, and it's even scarier then!) Back to Pooh to do fast passes; then out of the park to the Ferryboat for a nice, relaxing ride back to the Ticket & Trans. Ctr. About 1,000 people got off the ferryboat to go into the Magic Kingdom, and there about 8 of us to get on.

They boarded the monorail to Epcot and saw more turkeys milling around below. Thank goodness they were still around the day After Thanksgiving! They arrived at Epcot looked at the Leave A Legacy display. My Mom had gotten some Disney dollars for her birthday and she wanted to do the Leave A Legacy. However, because there were 3 of them you could only have 2 people on 1 tile. Even with a 2nd tile, which 2 would be on the first, and which 2 would be on the 2nd, or would there only be 1 on the 2nd, etc. It just got too confusing. They decided to think about it. The Christmas decorations at Epcot were beautiful. You walk under a long arbor with twinkling lights and holiday music. They headed over to Test Track for fast passes but they were all gone for the day. They did the Land boat ride (5 minute wait) but it was way too crowded to eat lunch there. So they walked back to the Dolphin and ate at the Dolphin Soda Fountain - (tuna salad sandwich - $7.50, NY hot dog - $5.95, Patty Melt - $8.50, Chips & Salsa - $2.95, soft drink - $2.00). Oh, by the way, we just found the receipt for the pizza from Wednesday night at MGMs Catalina Eddies (as we ate in the monsoon) - Chicken Pizza - $6.19, milk - $1.99, Pepperoni pizza - $5.79, sprite - $1.99.

After lunch, they took the boat to MGM (a new first - they haven't used the car yet) and went to the Millionaire show. The teenager actually got his Seat # on the big t.v. board for fastest finger! They did the Indy Stunt Show then got a seat for Fantasmic. The weather held up this time and they saw the entire thing. Although they didn't care for the show the first time they saw it, it was better the 2nd time around. Fast Passes for Tower of Terror were gone, so they headed over to the SOL (Osbourne) lights again. Absolutely spectacular - a definite must-see. Mom and the teenager took the boat back to the hotel, while for some reason, Dad power walked from MGM. (I guess he missed giving me my nightly walk.) The boat captain was really funny, telling everybody to sing, "Hey, hey, hey, goodbye!" Also, he would toot the horn and say, "Let's see if those people will wave!"

Dinner was at the Dolphin again - this time in Tubbi Cafeteria. (They're going to have to work on meal planning again. It seems to be one of their weaknesses.) They ordered 2 fettucini alfredo plates - $9.25/each, and chicken wing platter - $7.95. Fantasia Gardens mini golf was next since they had 3 tickets left over from a previous trip. Got there at about 10 p.m. and decided on the Fantasia Fairways. It has traditional golf obstacles such as hills, sandtraps and doglegs (I would have liked that hole!) It was fun, but long. If you have anybody in front of you, it takes forever. Dad enjoyed it since he's a golfing afficionado.

A total day using Disney transportation! So it can be done, even though we had our doubts.

Tomorrow: FIVE parks in one day!!
