Baby ZZUB has arrived!
Although she wasn't due for another few weeks, our baby girl decided she was ready to join the world and begin her life's adventure with our family.
She weighed in at 6 lbs. 5 oz. at birth and was 19.25" long. 10 fingers, 10 toes. Everything working just fine. My wife, my unbelievably strong as all get out wife, labored for 16 hours, without any pain medication! For people who question the strength and fortitude of Southern Women I say, meet Mrs. ZZUB. She'll teach you what a true steel magnolia is.
We're not the kind of people to post our names or pictures of our children on the internet. But I think it's ok for me to tell you our baby daughter's middle name is Faith. And if you've been reading this trip report for very long, you know why.
This has been an amazing year of heartache and blessing, and God has sustained us through dark nights of despair and provided a bright morning of rejoicing. God has used this time, both losing Samuel and receiving our baby girl, to deepen our understanding of who He is.
Many of you have been reading along with me since about a year ago when we lost Samuel. Much of my current Trip Report focuses on our loss and our hope. I know many people who read my Trip Report have suffered similar losses and I know some have suffered far worse. If my Trip Report does anything at all, if it brings any joy, I hope it brings encouragement. God is not done with us. He is in the redemption business.
I try to post updates to my Trip Report every two weeks. By that schedule, the next update is due on Monday. However, we're playing man to man defense in our home right now and I haven't been in my office for a week. It may be a little longer before I post the next update. But I will continue to unfold our story. There's plenty more to come.
