The Bar Across From Margaritaville

I always liked this bar, you know, the one with the plane. They have afternoon drink specials on Margaritas and their beer is not expensive. They also have good hot dogs.

The last time we were there, people were playing Guitar Hero there and they really had the volume cranked up. It’s a fun place to hang out.

It’s also fun to watch people come up to the to-go counter and order multiple drinks to start their day off at the parks. They walk over the bridge and to the entrance of Islands of Adventure only to be told they can not bring those drinks inside.

It happened to me once and I just guzzled my beer. The Team Member was apologetic saying he doesn’t understand why they sell drinks on the way into the park that are not allowed to be taken into the park.

If you sit at the bar for ten minutes, you will see person after person walking up to the counter, getting their drinks, and continuing on over to the park. It’s quite entertaining. There must be a lot of guzzling going on over there.

It’s called the Lone Palm; it’s a tiki hut looking place. I too attempted to go into IOA with a red colored margarita and my party waited until I finished. The only bad part was in my quest to hurry up; ended up spilling it on my white t-shirt… not a good day!

Looked at it yesterday, they have a sign by the register that says 1 drink per ID per purchase limit so I guess they received feedback about the guzzlers from the people at the IOA gate.
