ohhhhh you were dreamed!!!! :cool1:

I cant wait until I hear the details. I love those Mickey Pirate Ears!

Both me and dh lived in cali for a while. (Not together) Traffic is one thing we don't miss, and is the one thing hubby uses to stay out of Cali. I however am using family that still lives out there to get my trip in. Can't wait to hear your little updates, will billed up the suspence for your full tr when you get back. Have a magical time

That's a nice way of looking at it..... I am building up everybodys suspence for my full TR! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I couldn't imagine dealing with California traffic on a daily basis. I thought Denver traffic was bad, but it's NOTHING compared to L.A. Thank goodness.

i can't wait for the rest of your trip report. :) Enojy your vacation!

Thank you!!! Today was our last day in Disney. I wanna cry!

Those are cute huh! They look adorable on Logan. Reya got a cute princess one, but she doesn't seem to like wearing them.

September 25th

Favorite Memory of the day: Only waiting 10 mins to ride Toy Story Mania. I prepared myself ahead of time that I wouldn't get to ride it during my trip, because I'd heard the horror stories of how long people were waiting to ride
Least Favorite Memory of the day: Saying goodbye to my Dad!
Something I learned today: Don't ride Indy with a full bladder.

September 26th

Favorite Memory of the day: Seeing Teri Hatcher at Disneyland ((I'm a huge Desperate Housewives fan!))

Least Favorite Memory of the day: Getting Sick

Something I learned today: The Lilo and Stitch breakfast was worth the expense.

September 20th

We were going to Fairytale Town and Funderland this day and really wanted to get out early and enjoy our day, but unfortunately we had to wait for someone to come to my dad’s house and repair my windshield first. We were told someone would arrive between 9:00am-Noon.:sad2:

Once it was fixed we were out the door around 12:30 and headed towards Fairytale Town!!:yay:

Roadtrip059.jpg

Fairytale Town is an outdoor nursery rhyme themed play area for small children. Reya enjoyed sliding down many slides, petting farm animals, checking out a princess castle princess: , pirate shippirate: , pumpkin coach, and meeting new friends:hug:

Roadtrip052.jpg

DD and DH went sliding down the Old Ladies Shoe, poor DH almost got stuck coming down.

Roadtrip062-2.jpg

Roadtrip061-1.jpg

Next we checked out the castle where my Dad and DD sat on their Royal Throne!

Roadtrip069.jpg

After pretending to be a princess princess: it was time for some pirate playtime fun!pirate:

Roadtrip073-1.jpg

Roadtrip075-1.jpg

Everything in Fairytale Town is sized for small children including the snack bar and bathrooms. I thought the outside of the restroom was so cute, I had to take a picture. Looks like a gingerbread house.

Roadtrip082-1.jpg

After a small snack we went to visit Peter Rabbit, and then my Dad and DD went to play on the Choo-Choo Train. My father used to be a Railroad Engineer for Burlington Northern, ((as did his father before him)) so he loves anything that has to do with trains. He got to share that love with Reya a couple of times on this specific day and it was so much fun to see.:cloud9:

To be continued ............ pumpkin coach, sherwood forest, barnyard friends and much more!

Great update. Love the cherry sundress. I'm originally from Traverse City MI and cherries are big out there. :thumbsup2

Great update. Sorry about your window giving you a late start.

I love that little Fairytale Land..we have something like that here that is pretty darn cute called "Enchanted Village." I took my DD's there a couple years ago but they're too old for it now :sad1:

Where is Fairytale Land located?

I just read through the whole thing! Your DD is adorable. I love that first pic of her asleep with her arms above her head, LOL. :lovestruc

There were so many things I wanted to comment on, but of course now can't remember. But it sounds like you had a fantastic trip. I'm impressed that you did a 'live' TR! I tried something similar on our first trip, in that my intent was to journal on the computer every night the events from that day. But we were so tired at the end of the long days in the parks that I think I journaled the first few days, and the last day, and had to fill in the blanks once we got home. :rotfl:

Oh, and I also was wondering where Fairytale Land is. It reminds me so much of a place in Oakland we used to go to called Fairyland. It was near Lake Merritt.

Travelmel, I grew up not far from Enchanted Village, but it opened when I was in HS so I never went. I can't believe I've never taken my kids there! (They are 8 and 4yo, and we live about an hour away now.) Will have to put that on the To Do list...

Thanks for sharing the fun! :cool1:

Is that the Fairytale Land in Sacramento?????? My sisters and I would go there with my grandmother when we'd visit in the summers---------------in the 1970s!

Thank you! I love that dress too. My favorite fruit is cherries so I couldn't pass it up when I saw it.

Ohhhh well. We're just happy that they were able to fix it, we were thinking that they would need to replace it and we would have to subtract $200.00 from our trip to pay for the deductible.

Thank you! And your welcome, it's been my pleasure!

I'm so glad that you've decided to join in the fun, I'm happy to have you here. Doing a LIVE TR did not go like I had expected.. I usually suffer from insomnia, so I thought it would be cake to update my TR everynight before bed. But I've been so exhausted after we get home each night that it's been near impossible.

Can't say I didn't try. LOL!!

Yeppers, it's in Sacramento. LOL!! It was perfect for my DD and it was really cheap to get in.

I do have to admit however that it doesn't look likes it's been updated much or at all since you went in the 70's. It was a nice way to ease her into the craziness of Disneyland.

Next my Dad and DD took a look at the Cinderella Pumpkin Coach

Roadtrip094.jpg

Roadtrip095-1.jpg

Reya got a little hungry and decided she wanted to snack on some cheese!:rotfl:

Roadtrip091-1.jpg

Then it was onto the Sherwood Forest area where Dad and DD played around on the playground for a little while pretending to be Robin Hood.

Roadtrip103-2.jpg

Roadtrip117.jpg

Reya met a new friend named Breya . Her and her grandma played around on the tetter totter with my Dad and DD for a little while. It was so cute to watch.

Roadtrip113.jpg

My poor DAD was being such a good sport playing and running around with DD. He was sweating like a pig, trying to keep up with her while the rest of us just laid back in the shade watching them. :rolleyes1

Roadtrip104.jpg

Next we went to visit some barn animals and slide down yet another slide.

Roadtrip118.jpg

Roadtrip097-1.jpg

Roadtrip096.jpg

Dad and Reya went to pet and visit this sweet cow, he came right up to the fence when Dad whistled . It was really neat until we realized that he just came over to pee an insane amount of urine that splattered all over and nearly drenched DD. :rotfl2:

Roadtrip121.jpg

To be continued……..

:scared1: After we had a close call with a very BAD cow we headed onto our last slide of the day. This was the best one in my opinion, it was themed as a tree house belonging to Owl from Winnie the Pooh.

Roadtrip129-1.jpg

Roadtrip131-1.jpg

After we were through visiting Owls house, we headed over to the crooked mile to take a quick stroll.

Roadtrip137.jpg

Once we were done with that, Chelsea ((Linda’s daughter)) showed up to visit for a few minutes before she had to rush off to work. Reya wanted to take her for another walk down the crooked mile, so they did just that.

Roadtrip139.jpg

Roadtrip143.jpg

Next we made a quick visit to the Mother Goose statue to get a picture of Chelsea and Reya together

Roadtrip145.jpg

Our last stop was a visit to see a couple of sheep before saying goodbye to Fairytale Town. One in particular really didn’t like my Dad. He keep following him around giving him the stink eye, and every time my dad would try to pet him he would attempt ram him.:rotfl2:

Roadtrip158.jpg

Reya was pooped when we were leaving, but we had one more stop on the agenda before going to dinner.

Roadtrip153.jpg

We made our way over to Funderland which was located right next door to Fairytale Town. Chelsea needed to leave us to go to work, but we would be seeing her in a couple of hours to have dinner at the restaurant that she works at.

Roadtrip162.jpg

Funderland is a fun and VERY small amusement park for young children. Each ride requires 1 ticket per person, per ride which had cost about $1.75 each. ((If I remember correctly)) We bought a book of 10 so each of us could ride 1 ride each with Reya.

Roadtrip221.jpg

My Dad and Reya went to ride the train first. It only takes a lap around the park, but Reya absolutely loved her first train ride.:yay:

I learned the same thing on Indiana Jones. Those seatbelts can be torture.

Least Favorite Memory of the day: Getting Sick

Roadtrip205.jpg

We saw Teri Hatcher at Disneyland once too. She was looking at her on-ride photo from Space Mountain. I think she was with her daughter.

Fun update! I love cute little local gems like that. :goodvibes

Thank you!;)

:lmao: :lmao: I learned the hard way on Dinosoar at WDW too.

LOL!! That's funny that you saw Teri Hatcher too.... I tried to get a good picture of her but I could't and once I got close enough my battery died. :sad2: I started looking like a stalker too.:rolleyes1 Think she got scared of me.

Next my Dad wanted to take DD on the log ride. They waited in line for what seemed like forever! This was due to the fact that they only had 3 boats running at a time and only allowed 2 persons per boat. My Dad thought it was pretty lame but Reya loved it :lovestruc and that’s all that matters.

Roadtrip181.jpg

DD and DH headed towards the Backroad Buggies next!

Roadtrip218.jpg

Reya absolutely loved her little car! :car: She’s obsessed with anything that has to do with cars these days. I guess that’s part of her Tom Boy side coming out. They sped around the back roads of the park and were back within a few minutes. ((Reya's a crazy driver just like her mama)) :lmao:

Roadtrip185.jpg

Roadtrip189-1.jpg

Roadtrip187.jpg

By this time Reya was getting cranky:furious: she was tired and hungry so we needed to get rid of our tickets fast. Linda and I decided to take her on the carousel together so we could use up 3 tickets at once and that way we all would have had our turn riding something with DD. For some reason she is terrified of carousel's?!?! ((we discovered on this trip)) Unfortunately or fortunately for Reya the ride broke down soon after it started so we got off and were given our tickets back.

So now we had 5 tickets left and a VERY crabby baby. Dad, Linda, Reya, and I decided to ride the train again so we could use all but one ticket up.

Roadtrip207.jpg

Roadtrip211.jpg

We decided it was time to leave and we stopped to give the remaining ticket to a lady sitting down eating with her family. She didn’t look like she was thankful at all.. Actually she acted as if we interupted and annoyed her. I know it wasn’t that big of a deal, it was only 1 ticket but still some kind of gratitude would have been nice. I wanted to take it back from her and give it to a little kid standing in line because I know it would have been appreciated so much more.

We bid farewell to Funderland!

Roadtrip220.jpg

It was time to grab a bite for dinner so we headed over to ON THE BORDER. I haven’t eaten there for 14 years, and the only reason I remember that was because I went there for my Jr. Homecoming with all of my friends. I thought it was disgusting and NEVER had the desire to go back. The only reason we went this time was because Chelsea works there and we wanted her to be our waitress.

Roadtrip226.jpg

She came over to our table and made us some guacamole, and I ordered the cheese enchiladas and chicken taco! I have to admit it wasn’t nearly as horrible as I remembered. Still not the best meal I ever had, but the waitress was. :rolleyes1

Roadtrip228.jpg

After dinner we went back to my dad’s where we all did laundry, packed, relaxed, and got ourselves ready for our adventures in Disneyland!

Up next …… Our beautiful drive down to Anaheim
