I'm subscribing! I love your PTR and your family is very adorable! I am also eager to hear about your off-site stay. My dh and I don't really desire to stay off-site with our immediate fam. but we are playing a big family trip for late 2011 and I wonder if the off-site condo may be a better idea?? The pics look nice and pool looks fun! I'm looking forward to your live TR!

BTW was your DL pics in your PTR the character breakfast at Paradise Pier? I will be taking a couple trips to CA this year and I may do that breakfast. My DD was afraid of all the characters at 2 but she LOVES them now! My DS (7) was still shy of characters last trip and even "hid" behind his little brother (4)-who loved ALL the characters- !! He is going to have to get over it quick because I have 4 character meals planned for our trip in May!!! AND we are doing the STAR WARS weekend which will be FULL of characters!!! but he loves STAR WARS so maybe it will be different!!!!

Hello and welcome!

I of course would rather stay on-site any day, but sometime's it just makes more sense to stay off-site. ( And I can't afford to stay at any of the home away from home resorts at Disney.) We stayed at a place called Lighthouse Key Resort on our last visit back in 2007, and it was AMAZING! It was so nice to have all that extra space for Reya to burn off some energy. She had her own room so when it was time for her to go to bed we didn't have to bed and settle in for the night as well. Having a full kitchen, helped save money for breakfast and some dinners. We didn't have to pack as many clothes as normal because we had a washer and dryer. There was a TON of closet space, so everything could be stowed away. There were just so many reasons to choose a condo. This time around, I'm mostly excited because of the dishwasher. Since I have an infant I go through 8-9 bottles a day. I'm on vacation I don't want to be handwashing those suckers in a bathroom sink everyday. I will make sure to take lots of pictures of our accomdations for you. The particular place we're staying at have 2-4 bedroom condos. ((same with Lighthouse key))

Yes, that breakfast was from Paradise Pier. My Nephew and Niece had the best time EVER. I just wish Reya wasn't so terriefed. The food was pretty good, but the character interaction was AMAZING! It wasn't very busy and that might have been why, but the characters spent a LOT of one on one time with the kids. Minnie came over and sat at our table with the kids on her lap for about 10-15 minutes. And Max became best pals with my nephew, he came over to visit 3 or 4 times to give Logan some one and one time.

I'm here finally! Can't wait to read your TR Live!!!

Reya just woke up, came running downstairs saying “”I wanna take off a sticker, I wanna take off a sticker””!! She went over to the DISNEYWORLD COUNTDOWN calendar and tore off Mickey head #3!! Wooo-Hooo only 2 days left!!! In 48 hours we’ll be on a plane!!

I’m also currently watching the local news and the weather IS going to cooperate! NO SNOW!!!! YAY!!!

And the weather in Orlando looks AMAZING for the week.

Doesn’t get any better then that!!! Anything above 60 and below 80 is Perfect weather in my opinion! Every other time we’ve been to Orlando it’s been so unbelievably hot and humid! That’s the only thing I’ve hated about our previous trips. We got married at the POLY in the month of June and I thought I was going to DIE in my wedding dress. So this is going to be a great new experience, dealing with cooler temperatures.



I’ve got 2 suitcases completely packed, the 3rd is half-way there. Reya’s carry-on is also all packed up! Her princess backpack is loaded with pop-tarts, granola bars, twizzlers, and princess gummy snacks for the plane ride. She also has her Leapster 2 with 3 games. (Princess and the Frog, Tinkerbell, and Worlds of Enchantment Princess game) Plus a brand-new Tinkerbell Sippy cup. I think she’s all set for
the 3 hour flight.?!?

Question for those experienced fliers…. Do they count your laptop as a carry-on? Or can you have a laptop as well as a carry-on.? What about a pillow? Does that count as a carry-on?

Holy Cow, March 3rd is tomorrow! That means tomorrow is your last day at home! That's SO EXCITING!!! (have you told Jayden yet? Is he so excited too? )

Your schedule sounds great. I hope to be able to hammer things out like that by September.

I guess I didn't pay attention before. So if you don't have park hoppers, can you just use an extra day to go to a different park? That sounds like a big money saver!

As for carry ons, I would say Pillow doesn't count at all, laptop will be fine if it will fit under your seat with your other stuff (or in the overhead bins, whichever). Think of it this way: You can bring a carry on for each of you (two, maybe? I've only ever brought one.), a diaper bag, and a purse. That's a LOT of stuff! I can't imagine they would try and complain about a laptop or a pillow.

Oh, and you're a genius. I'm just going to bring DS food for the plane! That's BRILLIANT. He would be more than happy to just much on snacks for 3 hours.

I know you're leaving for a trip in a day, so your "chatting" time is pretty limited, but how is the leapster? I have a didj put away in storage for later, but I'm thinking about getting DS a leapster. All those disney games call to me!

AND, finally, I think eating pizza and watching Disney movies sounds like a splendid way to spend a "too excited to sleep" night! It sounds like so much fun!

This has got to be one of the longest days ever. It just keeps dragging on. Tomorrow I have a bunch of stuff to do so hopefully it will just fly by.

I think it's so stupid that they don't serve food on airlines anymore, unless you pay so it just makes sense to pack up snacks for the kids. We'll probably have breakfast in the airport before our flight too.

I LOVE the leapster and so does DD. I bought it for her for Christmas and it's been a great investment. It keeps her busy and it's very educational. They have a LOT of cute games to choose from too. ((tons of Disney especially))

I think pizza and movies sound good too.... I think tomorrow after 5:00pm vacation officially starts for everyone over here. Even though we won't be in florida yet, we're officially starting since we'll be together as a family.

I was just browsing United Airlines website to see if I could find out any information on carry-on luggage. Unfortunately, it doesn’t mention anything about laptops. However they did mention that any checked luggage over 44 lbs is considered overweight. Grrrrrrr!!!! ( I always thought 50 lbs was the overweight limit) Now I have to repack some items because I KNOW at least one of my bags is way past the 44 lb limit.

I also have to figure out a way to make room for Jayden’s playmat and the base to his carseat?!? I Have NO idea how I’m going to do that.

We have SOOOOOOOOO much stuff to take with us. Definitely can’t pack light with a preschooler and infant. I can’t wait to see how much luggage my in-laws are bringing as well. Between our 2 families it’ll be a scary sight. United will definitely be making a LOT of money off of us, with luggage alone.


On the plus side, my mail carrier came to the door today to drop off a package so I was able to fill out a form to have all my mail held while we’re gone. Now I don’t have to go to the post office tomorrow, which leaves one less thing for me to do.

Oh my goodness..... I wish!!!! Jayden is not a happy camper today!! Crying and screaming, crying and screaming!! If I didn't know better I'd think he was teething. I've got a killer headache right now. Nothing I do is making him happy. I'm hoping he get's over it before our 3 1/2 hour flight tomorrow.

Oh no! Ashlyn just caught a cold and she's getting molars so she hasn't been very happy, either. Ever since she learned to walk (just over a month ago) she's hated to even be in the shopping cart for any amount of time so our flight will be interesting! I hope he does okay for you tomorrow!

It’s really strange, I don’t feel like I’m going to Disney tomorrow?!? It might be from the stress of the screaming baby I’ve been dealing with all morning, the major housework that needs to be accomplished before company arrives tonight, the massive headache I have, or the sick feeling I have in my stomach of knowing I have to fly on a plane tomorrow?

Sorry, if I sound negative?! Don’t mean to be. I’m hoping once everyone arrives tonight after school and work things will feel more “real”, and I can relax a little.

I DO know however that once I see Cinderella's Caste ….. All my troubles, anxiety, and stress will disappear for 10 glorious days!

On the plus side, I’m ALL packed up!! ((Except for the things I need in the morning)) And I still need to add the laptop, pillow, and stroller to that pile.

I also took the dogs to my Grandma’s house.

Reya was sad when she realized they weren’t coming with us. But I’m actually glad to have them out of my way for 10 days… Reya was also able to take off the #2 Mickey Head on her calendar!!

Woo-hoo!! Our last day!!

On the flip-side, I’m upset because I just found our there is something wrong with my memory card that fit’s in my SLR camera. It’s saying it’s not formatted for the camera. ((And I know it is)) So it won’t take any pictures. I don’t know if the card is just fried out or what is going on? So now we have to buy a brand new card tonight. Those suckers are NOT cheap. I wouldn’t be so upset if I didn’t spend over $40.00 on a new battery for my small digital camera yesterday.

Well, I have some cleaning to do now… I’ll post once more tonight before we go to bed.

Jayden isn't teething, just grouchy for some reason. As of right now he's finally sleeping in his swing. ((He just wants to be held alllll the time, all of a sudden)) I can't get anything done. I can totally relate to what you're going through with the walking thing. I remember when Reya learned to walk and it took forever to get any shopping done because she wanted to walk. I just hoping that Jayden sleeps most of the trip tomorrow. When he gets bored he gets really fussy.
