Hi sll. been MIA for a while (life got busy). Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving and survived black friday. what did i miss?

the DH and I were the 3rd couple in line outside the Disney store in Branson for black friday.. and wowsers it was like a crazy house! but it was great! got lots of good deals.. (had to add to my toy story collection ) we made it through the mall, to walmart, target and a few other shops in 3 hours and passed out once we made it back to our hotel room... but it was fun (we aren't the crazy gotta be the first one in line type... we love to people watch on black friday... or any day for that matter ) so now the countdown to christmas begins... my coworkers laugh because we've had our countdown for the cruise going down to the day, but when someone asked how many days til' christmas the other week, i had to count it on the calendar lol

black friday we stay as far away as possible from the crazies and put up the tree and other decorations.

We have reservations at hand. How's my planning? Any ideas?

5 Days at Vero Beach with the Saturday morning breakfast with Goofy and Saturday night celebration of my in-laws' 65th wedding anniversary. I'm a bit sad there's no Pirate Party in May as you'll soon see a theme....

4 Days Old Key West. The first day, no parks so I set up the Pirates and Pals voyage at the Seven Seas Lagoon. The other 3 days, PARKS!

5 Days on the Magic where we will have a Pirate Party and enjoy fun with Captain Jack. And rum. There's always rum.

1 last day at Kidani before we head home. No parks again, so I'm open to ideas that don't include purchase of park tickets. DH and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary.

Wow! What an exciting trip you have planned! We love Vero Beach - its so relaxing. OKW has a great pool, and you can take the watercraft boat to downtown disney along the small rivers, which we enjoy doing at least once. At AKL, we enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at Sanaa and had a window table and watched the zebras, giraffes, and the ankole cattle graze while we ate the amazing meal. I'd highly recommend that restaurant.

We always find things to do to fill the day without going to the parks. The resort will have activities for the kids (don't know if you've got kids), the pools at the resorts are always fun and have great water slides for kids of ALL ages, playing mini-golf at one of the two courses, enjoying downtown disney.

Sorry to hear you won't be joining us but I fully understand. I don't remember how many of our vacations had to be scheduled around band and soccer practice. Even this cruise had to be scheduled around my son's Beach Week.

Hi everyone! Since I finally have everything together to surprise our family with the cruise for Christmas, I thought I'd share. We're taking my mother in law, father in law, sister in law, and grandmother in law (that sounds funny) with us. I don't think the reaction will be quite as cute as when you surprise kids with a Disney trip, but as long as nobody has a heart attack I think we'll be ok!

We started with Mickey and Minnie stockings from the Disney Outlet

And I added a letter to open first:

Borrowing from the Creative DISBoards, I made my own surprise letter:


Next I filled the stockings with all kinds of goodies:

And the hubby actually bought all of us D&B wristlets! I got mine for my birthday, but these are going to his mom, sis, and gram:

We got his dad a DCL t-shirt, but I forgot to take a pic of that... it's the red one from the Disney Store online.

I made them all personalized luggage tags:

And each of them got a DLC lanyard and an ornament:

Jason ordered the lanyards through the online store without asking me... we get free lanyards on the ship, but it's the thought that counts!

I also customized a dry erase board for their door:


And I made them a door-full of magnets!



I hope the family enjoys everything! I actually already had to ruin the surprise for my sis-in-law, because she was thinking of getting her parents a cruise for Christmas. She wouldn't listen to me as I tried to think up every reason why that was a bad idea... until I finally had to call her and tell her that everyone already had a cruise coming! She promised to keep her mouth shut though until we surprise everyone else!

I wish you luck and hope everyone appreciates the gift (I wish someone would take me on a cruise!!!)! While DW and I love cruising (especially on Disney), we know people who have absolutely no desire to step aboard a ship.
