Those guys were WAY cute this time. Based on looks alone I would have had a very difficult time eliminating anyone. The gifts were odd though.

The white rose thing is an interesting twist. Yet another way to get the competition going from the start.

BOY! Most of the guys were better looking than Meredith! I would've been totally confused if I was in her place for the first elimination!

She did let go of a couple of the CUTE ones who where so big headed it made me sick! She seems to me to be a woman who cares more about the inside than the outsdie.

I missed the whole purpose of the white rose. Can some elaborate?

She kept the slipper guy. heck, that was a cute gift to get an extra point but him having his own company wasn't bad either, besides he was cute. How come I can't find someone like that? OK, so I don't look on the inside but neither do guys.

There were some really nice guys there.

The slippers were a nice touch, and smart too. What better way to talk about your business than the gift.

That slipper was the ugliest thing I have ever seen. OMG, she has a lot of class, because I would have busted out laughing. I was expecting a glass or ruby slipper, and he pulls out that ugly thing!

I do agree there are some serious cuties! My fave was Harold, the hockey player. Ooh la la!

I didn't get to see the first 20 minutes so I didn't see all the guys. I'm so glad that she didn't pick Keith. He was the one that said that the didn't need to bring a gift because he was the gift.

Wasn't he full of himself! I was watching his face during the selection ceremony and you could tell he was getting pissed off. He was too pretty for my taste.

I missed the scene when the host instructed the guys. Did he say anything special to them?

One interesting thing I noticed was when they showed previews from the coming season, you didn't see Meredith kissing a million guys. When they showed Bob last season, he was all over half of the girls. It looked more like Meredith was hugging all the guys instead of kissing.

I really think Meredith looked very pretty last night. She is not a classic beauty, but she has a great smile, and what seems to be a very fun personality. It could be a very interesting season.

And Judi, I also thought Harold the hockey player was hot! There was one guy she didn't pick that I really liked. I don't remember his name, but he had blondish/brown hair and a silver tie on. I did notice that she even picked a couple of guys that were shorter than her. Maybe she really is after what is inside and not outside.

What I noticed is how intensely and dominantly the 'slipper guy' was like staring right into Merideth. The gesture was great, but the way he was staring a hole right through her kind of gave me the willies.

I like Meredith too! But I had always wondered about her as the choice as the current Bachelorette. Based on the last series, she just did not seem to have a strong enough personality, and to have become a little weak and emotional.... (Not to diminish her loss or anything...) When she took Bob to her grandmothers grave, I thought, boy, now that's a strong positive woman who knows how to impress a man??????

Well, I had high hopes after the first of last nights show! Meredith was really 'ON'! But, based on the previews upcoming episodes, she reverts to her old shyer, weaker, version. She is alone, in tears, crying "I just don't want to have to choose....." HHhhhmmm!!!!

Should be interesting!

I DID see Meridith kissing several guys! They did not show direct shots.... But looked like more than hello or goodbye hugs to me!

And, the guys this time seem to be handling the situation more like women... It shows some jealousies and tempers.....

Oh, and that Ryan M. guy is going to get on my nerves, I have the feeling. He just annoyed me to no end last night, he just seems sooooooo hyper! And what was that thing at the end where he is saying that he will be so surprised if he and the other guys aren't the only ones standing. The one guy asked what the heck he was talking about??? LOL!

That kind of bugged me, too, cuz. Sounds like he's treating this thing more like an OLYMPIC event! Well, guys and sports....

The guy with the slipper gave me the willies, too. Something about him kind of makes me suspicious. I think he's gonna be that guy everyone loves to hate. Each show has to have ONE!

Should be an interesting season. Just watching the guys will be enough for me!

Different opinion here~I liked the slipper guy! And I thought the slipper was cute, had a rose on it. Of course I'm a fuzzy slipper kind of girl. I think it's smart to give her a gift. Hard to remember all those faces but if you have a gimmick, you'll be remembered.

I saw her on the View yesterday. She said she is in love and that Star Jones would like the guy. We shall see..........

Remember him? I saw him in some rag magazine, smiling for the camera at Trista & Ryan's wedding. He gave me the same willies looking at him in this photo as he did on that show!

Of course, what fun would these shows be if they didn't have at least one loon? Makes it so entertaining. The all time biggest candidate for making bunny stew had to be that crazy blonde from the Aaron season - OMG, she was a NUT! Christie I think her name was???? She even LOOKED like Glen Close from Fatal Attraction!

I wonder if it's the "slipper guy" that ends up throwing a nutty when he is sent home. In the previews there was one guy leaving the house all pissed off saying something like "I was robbed". Then there was that other weird preview with one guy standing outside, almost like a stalker.

Harold is the Hockey player from Rock Island, IL. That is across the Mississippi River from where I grew up. I assumed he played for the Quad-City Mallards. The jersey he brought her looked similar. I looked on the roster list and he is not on there so maybe he got cut.

Snoopy-I agree with you about Ryan M. He is SO annoying!

Cuz, I can't believe you remembered the loony's names!!! Russ, UGH!! He was JUST like him!

Did anyone notice that the Aaron guy, the one with the gelled hair, looked aLOT like Aaron the Bachelor from a couple of years ago???
