Yes, Betina is divorced. We don't know why or who wanted the divorce. She only mentioned that she had been married young and was divorced and was afraid to tell him a few episodes ago.

And why would her parents think her first husband was so great? Even with editing to make them look worse to the viewers, they still DID say those things about Brad. I would have walked out myself. Especially after he spoke to her alone and she reiterated that "he didn't look good on paper" and neither did she. What?? I would have been apologizing all over the place for my Dad's rude remarks, not agreeing with them and including myself.

I'm coming into this late but I'm wondering if he knew deep down that he was not going to choose either Sheena or Bettina so he let Sheena go this time to make an easier choice the next time. He can always quote her family as the reason when he lets her go.

It is a game, after all, and that could be his strategy.

On the other hand, he is a guy and this is a game..... and there are pretty girls that want him. Common sense will not always prevail.

Unfortunately, I think my DH is correct when he said that Brad is into Bettina physically and even after the family fiasco, he said, "he's going to keep her because he wants to have the overnight with her over Sheena."

I couldn't beleive Bettina got a rose either - her family was just horrible and rude.

I don't know who I really like, I liked DeeAnna's family, they were so great to him.

For the overnight visits, are there limitations? I just cannot comprehend 3 women putting themselves in a physical competition like that without feeling like they are selling themselves. Nobody would be worth that to me.

This could be true. I think he had more respect for Sheena, and since he didn't really feel the chemistry with her he decided to let her go earlier to spare her feelings a bit.

Yes, all the past shows had the overnight fantasy room option. Some of them just talked in there and left. Some didn't. I wouldn't go so far with a man who was dating other people seriously, but that is only me.

I do think he's attracted to her physically, loves how Jenni ADORES him and loves the chase with Deanna. The 3 things men NEED.

I loved how he said that he likes Deanna because she doesn't NEED him. Needy... it has an offensive odor...

Bettina's family was the epitome of RUDE. Sure, you can think things but do you have to act on them? I wouldn't be thrilled about my daughter marrying a man who ran bars, either, due to the lifestyle and the hours (did you SEE the website? BOY, the temptation is easy for a single man to get sick of but a Married Man??? )... but to treat him like he was a homeless vagrant with hives that she found on the street was ridiculous. He is a polite, honest guy... the least they could've done was treat him decently for one night.

I liked Deanna and Jenni's families a LOT. Down home, for real people.

What the HECK was up with Sheena's former hippie Mom??? No wonder he was scared off!!!

I have thought that Jenny had the most chemistry with him, but after tonight and her getting picked for the Phoenix Suns squad I am changing my way of thinking. Brad says he wants to get married -- he's ready. He wants someone to fit in his life, and go home with him. He doesn't want a long distance relationship while she's on the squad, and she might make it again next year as well. That is her dream and she must follow it. So I feel he is turning his attentions to the oompa girl -- DeeAnna. she had such a fun, welcoming, normal family.

I agree with you on this. I did think when they showed the previews though when DeeAnna was revealing her "true feelings" that it was so unemotional as if she was reading off a board behind him. I think Jennie is into him more but I think he'll go with DeeAnna because of what you've said above.

We don't know what goes on, whether they left or not, altho I don't ever remember anyone talking and leaving. It seems they've always implied that they've spent the night...makes for better TV. I know there have been times when the guy or the girl have said that they'd like to use that opportunity to talk privately, but what really goes on, either way...

I was shocked that he kept Bettina over Sheena. Sheena's mom was typical for some of the women in Walnut Creek. Kinda looked like she was including herself in with her daughter. What's this "us" stuff? He's dating YOUR daughter, not you! As it turns out, I'm glad he let Sheena go, rather than spend even more time with her (including the "overnight").

Strangely, I liked DeAnna's family the best. Of the girls, I like Jenny the best & her family seemed nice - and normal!

I hesitate to say this because I am a pleasantly plump almost 40 year old mommy. BUt, does anyone think Bettina looks unkept? Her hair is never done and the clothes she wore to meet him looked like workout clothes. Am I wrong? Maybe I am too old . I do know that when she said her date was boring she lost me. She was not joking and if she was, I would hate to listen to her jokes. Selfish maybe??????? YES

He didn't say it himself but I think you're right. There's been more than one bachelor with a heart who said he let a really nice girl go because he knew he feelings we growing and his weren't and he didn't want to keep her longer and make it worse for her. I get that logic. As much as it hurt, I'm sure Sheena gets it too. Brad obviously felt like a total jerk having to to that last night. Same with Hillary. He really liked her but the keep her any longer was unfair to her. And judging by her over the top reaction, smart move there Brad!

Of course they sleep together!! I'm sure not all do, one, I believe during Jesse Palmer's season IIRC even turned him down and was soundly booted the next ceremony for "not opening up. Yeah, opening up her legs but there have been enough contestants that have dropped VERY broad hints that more than talking went on. Trista admitted that she slept with Ryan on their overnight date but went on to say she did NOT sleep with the other two because she already knew who her choice would be. Others I've heard (and this is just gossip, so if you can refute it please do) make the most of their private time: Andy Baldwin admitted to being quite friendly with at least 2 of the women but didn't name names and I haven't seen where anyone has spoken up. I have my guesses

Why would Brad keep Bettina?!!!!! Sheena's mom was a bonafide nut, but still Bettina's family... where's the throwing up smiley? And her dad comparing Brad to Bettina's first husband and saying she'll never find any better is a bad, bad sign. Why would he want to marry into such a rude family and have to deal with that forever?!

I liked DeAnna, then I didn't like DeAnna, and now I like her again. Probably because of her family, though. I LOVED them! They remind me so much of my own family. And I liked how Jenni stuck to her own goals. A lot of bimbos on this show are way too quick to say that they'll give up their own lives and follow the Bachelor around. NEVER a good idea, especially considering the track record of these Bachelor relationships


I don't even know who I hope he picks. They're not a very likable group this year. I guess I like DeAnna, believe it or not!

By this time on the show, I usually can pick who the Bachelor will pick. NOT this time. I was floored when he kept Bettina over Sheena. Bettina' family was just horrible. I felt really bad for Brad when her father dissed him for owning bars. ummm...newsflash to Bettina' parents...those bars have made Brad a millionaire.

I think it's between Deanna and Jenni - I really like Jenni so I'm sure Brad will pick Deanna, LOL!!!
