The Bachelor - Ben??? No spoilers

Was glad to see that Olivia was sent home. Kind of interesting that Emily makes it to Ben's hometown dates as she says she meets his family in the previews for "on this season."

They're sending girls home at an alarming rate, most likely because they don't want us to realize how boring Ben actually is!

Ben's hometowns are this coming week. The next week is the women's home town dates. Then on to the "final" location for "overnights" and final winnowing down. We are getting close. Thank God. Boring season. I believe his final choice is clear, unless something dramatic happens in the next few dates.

So the lengthy preview has me thinking that Ben is torn between Caila and Lauren B. Since they show him on the phone calling someone, we are to think it is prob someone he sent home, but maybe it isn't. Editing makes it look like it is happening during the final 2 but it might not be. I think he is calling Amanda (she's the one with 2 little girls, right?) telling her not to head back form the hometowns, to stay with her girls , perhaps? THEN the final 2 happens. Or maybe he is just ordering pizza I just hope he doesn't pull a
Jason Mesnick or Brad Womack

I am pumped to see Wrigley next week though!

I just saw this on a Cubs Group on FB and had to share!

For those of you who don't follow the Cubs like @FINFAN and me, the "lovely young ladies" are the Cubs rookies from last season. They had to dress up like Princesses , LOL. The princess at the far left is Kris Bryant who was the ML Rookie of the Year and the one on the far right is Kyle Schwarber who belted a home run in the NLDS that landed on the right field scoreboard .

I think his best choice is to just choose the Cubs Jersey and find his future wife in the Bleachers! The "right" girl in this process bleeds Cubbie blue, lol. Kris Bryant got engaged last month...wonder if he used the same jeweler as the Bachelor....

Happy Valentine's Day gang! Anyone plan on watching tonight's "surprise" wedding? I know who it is from watching Bachelor in Paradise, but won't say unless you guys want me to. I may DVR it as I think there will be a lot of useless commentary, flashbacks, interviews with past contestants and I will be SHOCKED if Prince Farming didn't fanagle an invite so he can have more face time on tv lol.

So, Ben had *another* jerky goodbye. Why even bring a girl to meet your parents when you're really not into her? And her horrible and terrible fault as far as they were concerned? She had a freaking mind of her own and had plans for her life! She should be happy she's not with someone who is raised by people like that. God forbid that someone should want something other than an MRS degree.

I think what killed her was her own nervousness.
I wasn't an Emily fan anyway, but she (editing... I know, so who knows for sure) seemed to just talk non-stop without letting the parents get a word in edgewise. That's going to come off as immature. And it may well have been. Or it was nerves. Or both.

Was sad to see Becca go home, but if he's not into her, he's not into her.

Inside the scoreboard was the best! We were all excited here, lol~ you could tell JoJo was like, really? I've never seen Chicago and all I get is the inside of a baseball field? Where's the city? Where's the excitement? Ben, however, was NOT leaving the field for anything. We were hoping they had hot dogs for dinner, lol

What got me (again, editing) was his Mom saying how Emily just talked about HER plans, well lady, you asked her about herself, directed your questions to her, not to you and my son As far as her being immature? She had one of the best /mature exits of 20 seasons of the Bachelor.
I guess we saw Chris/Whitney 2.0 with the Ben/Lauren home date, going to the townie bar meeting his friends etc.
His third questionable move was putting Becca thought the rose ceremony falling back on the "I didn't know until the last second " crap. I would like to believe that is what he was discussing with Chris, saying he wanted to talk to Becca alone,but the producers said nope~ do it during the rose ceremony. Ben has sent a lot home prior to the rose ceremony so it really looked crummy to not give Becca the same. DS said they will prob have Becca be the Bachelorette but I don't think so. she's comes off as a little too boring to hold down all the camera time. At this point I am speculating the final 2 are Lauren B. and Caila, and Caila is the next Bachelorette? She said how she can land/live anywhere, I thought that was a clue. The home dates look quite interesting lol...Ben appears preeeeetttttyyy stressed out on his family date with Amanda

It won't be #2 as the next Bachlorette, there isn't enough time in between the airing of the Final Rose and the start of filming the next season. *at least this is how it's been in the more recent past*

It's too odd to have them "sobbing" one minute about losing and then on to being the Bachelorette literally within days (filming for the Bachelorette starts RIGHT AFTER the ATFR for Bachelor). So, within the last 7-9 cycles, Bachelorette has always been number 3 or 4. With the producer saying recently (and publicly) that we might get a Bachelorette of who is not Caucasian I'd give the nod to Caila of the 4 left (assuming she doesn't win). She is 1/2 Filipino, which is as close to "not Caucasian" as you get with what's left. If Caila wins, all bets are off as to which of them goes as Bachelorette...maybe Amanda, as the "mom with kids" seeking daddy and husband is a good story line and has worked in the past.

Becca would never get the nod, even if she were final 4. She's a VIRGIN and we all know she probably wouldn't kiss enough guys, and certainly isn't prepared to go into the "Fantasy Suite" with multiple guys. Make no mistake, they LOVED Kaitlyn Bristow last time. That's the kind they go for. Not the sweet little virginal type.

I think Ben cuts Amanda loose after the hometown date (the look on his mom's face when he said she has 2 little girl's was not one of joy) based on your thought's Caila going #3, leaving JoJo and Lauren as FT. I guess I am going to go with Lauren as the winner based on comments the girls have been saying, and she seems to be the least complicated / confusing. She is a flight attendant and we have all seen that Ben loves his air travel lol~as far as Becca, that's what I was hinting at with the "boring" for tv...not enough physical action for the show/ratings.

But, there just has to be some middle ground between BORING with no-physical-sparks, and the last SKANK.

That's different. The shooting schedule for Bachelorette has them starting literally as soon as the ATFR airs. There is a couple month break between the end of Bachelorette and shooting of the Bachelor. Makes it easier to do. They always announce Bachelorette at the ATFR for Bachelor, and they CAN'T have someone boohooing being in second place and then say "now you are Bachelorette"....optics all wrong. OTOH, they do NOT announce Bachelor at Bachelorette finale, so they can do it more gracefully...although in the last few cycles, even that has tended to be F3 or F4 (e.g., Ben was Kaitlyn's F3), Chris was F3 for Andi, etc.

I'm also callous enough, in this case, to believe the producers deliberately have the lead "keep" people they otherwise wouldn't in order to have a good F3 and F4....I'll bet that's why Becca got the boot at F5. She was NEVER on the producers radar as a possible lead, and therefore they can cut her loose with no concerns at all. However, any of the remaining 4 could be a lead for Bachelorette. For example, last season, I thought Ben was a very odd choice for F3 for Kaitlyn. Very different from her F1 and F2. But, he's a great lead (well, at least decent...LOL), and she was probably "encouraged" to keep him to help build audience sympathy for him being the next lead.

As further proof, if you watched Sunday night, Ben says he was "in love" with two women (not four). I think he has had a "final 2" for quite a while in his mind, and the others are just baggage, being brought along mostly as the producers dictate in order to keep their options open for Bachelorette. I also think his "final 2" are pretty obvious based on the interactions he's had on his dates and the conversations. Even more so than usual, this one seems easy to figure out. LOL. (Or at least I think so....)

how do we know that's out of character for Ben? Maybe that's the real Ben and the "actor" Ben is who we see saying "tell me what's going on?" ~" I WANT to understand" ~"I think you are incredible, strong, beautiful, and I want to get to see who you really are"....
