Theresa ( Latte Lover) 39(again) Chief organiser and banker
Maddie 16 Firmly believes everything dad says is stupid
Callum 15 would prefer to be playing in his band(but loves cat in the hat)
Sunday 21st August
Were all tired today (not me I slept like a log) apparently I had snored my head off and kept every one else awake.
We arrived at MK by 9.00 and headed straight for Big Thunder Mountain where I sat this one out to get a photo so the ladies would have something to put in their scrapbooks and then we did Splash Mountain where Callum did the photo honours and I got to ride.
This was the first time Theresa had ridden on Splash Mountain since our first trip back in 1997. She is not keen on big drops but we managed to convince her to have a go and Im please to say she said it was OK????
We split up into 2 groups as the ladies wanted to get photos of characters and several other things for their scrapbooking.
Cal & I rode Buzz twice as I had all the tickets and we got 4 fast passes.
We got an ice-cream as it was really hot again and had a look around Mickeys Toontown Fair and then met up with the ladies.
We decided we would get on the monorail and go somewhere for lunch.
We thought we would like to try OHanas at the Polynesian resort but they dont open for lunch so we went to The Kona Café instead.
This was really lovely, we had a great server who brought us loads of delicious coffee which we loved and he even gave us a cup to go.
Theresa had chicken with peanut sauce and I had the Mahi-Mahi both were served with sticky rice and the kids both had burgers, what else????
Theresa and I both had the Chocolate and Macadamia nut tart with coconut ice cream for pudding.
All the puddings and a statue of Lilo and Stitch made out of chocolate were displayed on a counter.
The bill came to $71 plus tip and we gave this a well deserved 9½ /10
The poly is lovely and we will definitely be coming back next year.
After lunch we hopped back on the monorail for Epcot as today was the day of the long planned DIS meet.
We tried to do Soarin again but the wait was 1 hr. and all the fast passes had gone so we got fast passes for test track instead.
We then went around the world so Maddie could get a pressed penny from every country for her scrapbook but some countries didnt have the machines and we had to hunt for them.
We rode test track and despite having fast passes the wait was quite long and we just made it to the Rose and crown pub by 6.30.
We brought some drinks and looked around for some Disers. You would not believe how difficult it is to spot someone you dont know that is also trying to spot someone that they dont know either.LOL
Simon Veness came over and asked if we were Disers as Theresa had a Lime Green bum bag. What a relief it was when Florry and Dimplenose showed up as well.
We had great fun chatting about all things Disney for about an hour, which went by far to fast, and said our goodbyes.
We found out when we got home that Miffy and Floridasun had also been there but had stayed in the garden and completely missed us which was a real shame.
After this we went to the Electric Umbrella for pizza and then watched the Fireworks before heading back to the TTC to collect the car.
