The Avengers movie for a 5 year old - yes or no?

The previews were scarier and more objectionable than the movie. Not just the movie trailers, but the TV show commercials that ran before the trailers. I had to take one of my older children out until the movie started because some of the previews were too much. The actual movie did not bother them at all.

I was going to say the same thing - I thought the trailer for Prometheus was scarier than anything in The Avengers.

(although Prometheus looks great!)

I've seen Avengers twice now and saw lots of little kids there. I think if they enjoy the other Marvel movies (Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk), they should be OK at Avengers.
