Ok.....so after coming from the other side of the world (Australia) in 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008 (Yes, we are disney addicts!), we decided on just a short trip to Disneyland in November due to CHEAP airfares, plus we have been working really hard!
Then, as usual, the short cheapie trip to DL started to transform.....into a WDW trip...with one extra person.....AUSSIEDAD!!! Aussiedad has not travelled in over 30 years due to having his own business to run, and a family to look after etc. Due to the CHEAP airfares available by the new Aussie airline V-Australia in their Premium Economy class....Aussiedad (with a bit of convincing from Aussiemum) decided to come with his Aussie twins for a trip of a life time!! Aussie Mum is an armchair traveller (she has been to WDW in the 60s...she lived in the USA for 8 years and worked in Brooklyn as a registered nurse). AussieMum prefers not to travel, and so is happily staying home and babysitting the Aussie grand-fur babies.
So then there were three Aussies.....AussieDaisy, Youngaussienurse AND AussieDad!!
Our flight leaves from Melbourne airport (Australia) on Nov 17th and we get into Florida on Nov 17th. We have decided to stay at the Poly, as we want to give AussieDad a great experience, and know it will be nice there as it is close to the parks etc (we have only ever stayed at the Contemporary, which was good too, but had a BAD experience last stay so will try the Poly!).

He is a super cool Dad who loves traveling, flying (I didn't get that gene!), and is very relaxed. He hates seafood, pasta and rice:confused3 but I am certain he'll find something yummy to eat at WDW.

We are both registered nurses who work in recovery room and anaesthetics in the operating suite. We are now clinical nurse specialists after completing our Master of Nursing degree....more $$ for mickey mouse visits hehehe:wizard:
We often confuse the staff at work as we are identical, and therefore have to wear different colored theatre scrubs (note the mickey crocs!).

More to come on the Aussie twins pre trip report....stay tuned for a post by AussieDaisy!

It's Aussiedaisy here!!

As Youngaussienurse said in the above post, we are very excited about our upcoming trip to WDW again....especially seeing as Aussiedad is joining us YAY:cool1: We hope that he will enjoy WDW as much as we do!

Tomorrow we are booking our hotel. The Poly is the hotel of choice this trip, we have been through the lobby many times and have also eaten at Ohanas (which we LOVED and will definately be doing that again). The ambience and theming of this hotel is just great and I really can't wait to stay there this time.

We already have our tickets to MVMCP...had to wake up at 4am to call the USA to book them YAWN:faint:

Here are a few pics of the afore mentioned 'Mickey Room' in our new house.

The Aussietwins at MNSSHP last October.

Anyway, off to do some more research on which gardenview Poly Longhouse to request....it's between Samoa, Fiji and another one starting with T that I can't remember off the top of my head!!!

Stay tuned for more exciting trip details to come!!!:wizard:

Trippie update:

Went to the travel agent today and booked the Poly with a request of the Samoa longhouse with Volcano pool view:yay: Also got in the package a 6 day park hopper and the quick service dining plan which seems to be a good value!

Had a bit of luck today in the shops, we found a really great Mickey Mouse hoodie top reduced to $20!! Finding Disney themed clothes in Australia is really rare so we were very excited about this find!!!:cool1:

So now all there is to do is wait until hopefully the ADRs become available to do online soon and then we can book Ohana's and maybe another sit down meal!!!

As Aussiedaisy said in her last post we saw the travel agent and booked the Poly. We also booked our connecting flights from LAX. We arrive in LAX at around 7am and we were able to get a direct flight to MCO (we didn't want to have to connect again!) The only direct airline that fitted with our travel times was Delta, who fly out at 1040am (giving us 3hrs 40 mins). I am a bit worried as I have read really bad reviews of them!! But as it is a direct flight I don't really care as long as they are on time and safe. On the way back, we were able to get a direct flight from MCO to LAX with american airlines. Any reviews on these airlines would be great!!!
We were also thinking of making dad up a travel pack for fathers day (september, a few months before we leave). We thought we might get him a small carry on back pack and fill it with travel stuff. My ideas are :- a neck pillow, ear planes (ear plug things that help with ear pain whilst flying as he has ear troubles), hand sanitizer, poncho, gastrolyte sachets, stemitil (for motion sickness...not sure what it is called in US), and other stuff......any ideas for other good items to put in it???
I think we will have to start a 'Disney school' for Dad too, as he really has NO idea of things like re-fillable mugs, dining plan credits, fast pass etc.....
It will be interesting taking a 'non' disney person with us!

Love your pre-trip report so far. Your dad is going to have so much fun with you girls.

Thanks Loudisney! I really hope Dad enjoys himself, hopefully he'll come back a Disney convert:thumbsup2

Not much trip stuff happening at the moment. Waiting for the November hours to come out so we can start planning what we are doing. The first day we arrive it will be sometime around 7-8pm so we won't be doing much park wise. I think we will check in, go to Captain Cooks at the Poly and get some food and if the weather is nice sit out on the beach and eat.

Here are some more pics in the mean time :)
