Hi! Ive read that the attic can be used with an escape package but only for 2 hours! So does the $2500 minimum stay the same or is it cheaper for the reduced hours!? Anyone had a reception at the attic - there will only be 12 of us will the space work for such a small group or is it a waste?

If your reception ends before 5:00pm I think the food and drink minimums are $1,000. However, you will have to meet a $7,500 minimum expenditure for all your wedding celebrations. This includes dessert parties and portrait sessions.

Several other brides have had Escape receptions at the Attic and since the maximum guest count for an Escape is 18 then I'm guessing The Attic fits this sort of guest count nicely :goodvibes

If you want something that lasts longer you could always look into making a private group dining reservation at a Disney restaurant.

HTH!

We had an escape wedding with a lunch served at the Attic. At the time that we had ours though (a little over a year ago) we could add guests for an additional $500 so we had about 21 people.

It was a a perfect size for us, pretty roomy, but it was such a nice day most of our guests sat outside to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather. And the view was great.

My top two pieces of advice- warn people how far they have to walk to get to the attic, and spring for using Disney's speaker system. We used an Ipod and docking station that we brough with us, but the music didn't reach to the outside portion when we had it hooked up inside and vice versa.

Thanks for all that advice!! So how far away in attic in relation to SBP? How do you get to it? Under jellyrolls? Sorry for all the questions but one member of my group has a bad knee so dont want it to be a huge walk!

It's not very far. I'd say 5 minute walk at a slow pace. I have hip and knee problems and I managed it just fine at a stroll :thumbsup2

Below is a map of the Boardwalk the red arrow is SBP and the orange arrow is Jellyrolls. Once you get there however I'm not 100% where the entrance is for The Attic if they only have stairs or if there is a lift available, I'm sure someone else will have those details for you though.

You can also see a satellite map at: http://www.undercovertourist.com/orlando/attractions/disney-s-boardwalk.html

If you zoom right in you can see the layout of The Boardwalk from a birds eye view. At a rough estimate using the key on the map I'd say the walk is around 400 - 500m.

HTH :)

No stairs required—there are elevators. I think Disney greatly exaggerates the length of the walk to the Attic. It's no different than walking to your hotel room from the lobby if you're staying at the BoardWalk Inn, and probably closer than the distance between Beach Club's lobby and the rooms at the far end of the DVC wing or the wing by Epcot.

It just seems long because it's an uninterrupted hotel hallway with door after door, and you go around a corner or two. But it's worth the walk! :goodvibes
