The Apprentice- Martha Stewart

and is it me, or all the MEN on the show much more cattier than any of the women??

It seems the men are suffering from PMS..the witchiness and mental breakdowns....in the MEN!

Shawn Killinger is a tough cookie! Successful newswoman in Orlando. I just cannot picture her doing that at all.

SPOILER...

Poor Dawn (is that her name)--Wonder if she shared the part about the "hooker" marketing campaign. Why make it soo obvious that she doesn't deserve to be raked over the coals. It's serving Jim up on a silver platter. I feel bad for her as this would reflect later on down the road that she cannot get along with others. But as Shawn said, it just takes one opposing word and you are on his list. That isn't simple getting along...that is someone out for blood.

Spoiler below!

I wish they would have gotten rid of Jim instead of Chuck.

Who's going to want to be project manager next week??

I wish they would have gotten rid of Jim instead of Chuck.

Ugh, I soooo agree with you here! Not that Chuck did a great job, but Jim just makes me want to smack him upside the head!

What I don't understand is why Dawn or any other member of the "creative team" does not confront Jim about his hidden agenda? My goodness, if I would have been in that same situation Dawn was at, sitting at the computer listening to most of her team members belittle her I would have stood up for myself! What about Jim's actions in the board room, why did NO one say anything about all his little remarks?! I just don't understand

Across the face with a flounder! :p Smack, pow, biff!

I hope he didn't quit his day job. Wow, what a co-worker (or boss ACK!) from hell he would be.

UGH, just finished watching the tape. That Jim needs to go.
I do agree that Chuck is not qualified for the job either.

I guess she really doesn't have an exit sloggan yet, since she didn't say "you just don't fit in" tonight.

So Chuck was booted?

I just watched it on tape, and for some reason missed the last 5 minutes!!

Thanks for the updates.

I was really hoping to come on here and read that Jim was booted!

Is it just me, or is Martha's sidekick guy (can't remember his name) really annoying with that cigar? What's with that?

I agree - he drives me nuts with that. I don't think he'd make it with Donald Trump after all the lectures he gave Chris about chewing last year.

I was really hoping that Jim was booted, but I think he has already sealed his fate. He won't make it to the end.

As Shawn said earlier--whomever speaks up is next on the list.

After last night I do know two things...Martha doesn't like quitters and if a woman so much as sheds a tear, they'll probably get booted.

I'm enjoying this show too. That darn Jim gotta go. He is so anal! He really has it out for Dawn. I actually felt bad for Chuck. I think he blew it when he wanted to quit. Martha doesn't like quitters. My thought is they may keep Jim around a little longer for some action/drama. They know the viewers like some controversy.

He's a total George (Trump Apprentice) wannabe. And, Alexis is a total Carolyn Keptcher wannabe.

The one who really bothers me is Alexis. I'd take cigar guy ove her. Why does Alexis make me cringe every time I see her? Is it me or does she seem to have this smug "I'm better than ALL of you" look on her face all the time? I don't know what her background is (aside from being Martha's daughter) ... but I do have to say that the nepotism is what angers me. Trump didn't use any nepotism on his show -- you don't see Ivanka or Melania up there passing down judgements. Carolyn and George are two people who work for him. Why did Martha have to do this on her show? Oh yeaaaahhhh ... she prob. doesn't want to trust any other woman so she put her daughter in there. Silly me.

We tuned in last week and this week, I love it, but DH fell asleep both episodes! I like Martha and her daughter. I thought it was nice that they have a working relationship, I guess it's because we have a family business that brings in both sides of the family. It's quite a chore to keep business separate sometimes, so I admire both of them for doing a successful job!

The Cigar BOTHERS me though, I don't know why, but sucking on an unlit cigar just doesn't seem business-like. I'm surprised it doesn't bother Martha!

She's actually quite successful. Learned from her mom and did her own thing.
I see it no different than helping with the family business.

Though I also don't see how she or the cigar smoker is adding anything of interest to the show. And since the Mr. Trump is involved.--who's to say that he didn't express his opinion that the show should be a similar format. It's not the regular copycat show as both are produced by the same company in the same way.

Alexis Stewart was a natural choice to sit beside Martha as a colleague and confidant in the Conference Room.

Born in New York City and raised both in New York and Westport, Connecticut, Alexis began helping her mother in business at a young age. Her first job was assisting Martha in her catering business, a business that would be the basis for the rest of Martha's career. It was here that Alexis learned first hand the ways to employ creativity and turn a passion into a profitable business. She gained a tremendous amount of experience cooking, entertaining, working with a large group of employees and managing a home and a business at the same time. These lessons learned during these early years, combined with her proficiency at multitasking, have served her well throughout her career.

Alexis attended Greens Farms Academy in Westport, and graduated from the Putney School in Vermont. She then returned to New York City to attend Barnard College.

After graduating from Barnard, Alexis explored several entrepreneurial ventures. She designed, built and operated the upscale Bridgehampton Motel property in Bridgehampton, Long Island.

With a passion for exercise and yoga, Alexis had the foresight to recognize the Hamptons' growing need for fitness centers that were as high quality as the best in New York City. First she took over the only large facility in East Hampton, owning, building and running the East Hampton Gym before selling it in April 2000 to fitness trainer Bruce Cotter. She then partnered with Cotter, and together they purchased the Sag Harbor Gym in Sag Harbor, New York. Completely redesigned and rebuilt, the Sag Harbor Gym is a modern, attractive facility, incorporating professional instruction, the most modern equipment, a spin studio, pilates studio, and yoga and aerobic classes.

Both the East Hampton Gym and the Sag Harbor Gym provide the Hamptons communities with the style, quality, and service expected by its residents. Just as Martha has done time and again, Alexis discovered a market, a niche, understood the customers and catered to their needs with businesses that are of the highest caliber.

Three years ago Alexis partnered to create the Karma Yoga Studio in New York City. This was a large facility which offered many types of multi-level yoga and the studio has since been sold to Yoga Works.

While forging her own career path, Alexis has managed to remain very involved with the MSLO empire. She is continuing to work closely with her mother and the company while still participating in her own business endeavors and pursuits. Like Martha, Alexis is creative, strong, intelligent and extremely interested in business. Her drive and her passion for her work have resulted in profound success.

At present, in addition to her duties on "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart" and her consulting duties for the company, Alexis is developing a radio program for the Martha Stewart Living Sirius Radio Channel.

I REALLY, REALLY DON'T LIKE JIM :scared1: However, I told my husband before Martha made her decision, that I didn't think Jim would go yet, because he makes for good television. He's the guy everyone loves to hate and she will keep him around for a while. I don't think he will go far, but I think we'll see him for a couple more weeks or so.

He got on my last nerve. I would have told him off so fast it would make your head spin.

I love Shawn. She was a great anchor on the news here in Orlando.

She looked for familar, I must have seen her on the news at some point while being in Orlando.
I like her and Marcelo. I think Martha likes them as well.

I was thinking the same thing. Alexis evens gives the same kind of looks that Caroline gives. @@

I wonder, when it comes down to Betthany being in the board room if knowing "George" will be a "good thing"? or not.

I agree, I can't believe it doesn't bother Martha! It seems strange. Can't he go without it during the TV show?

Jim is driving me crazy, but I agree that he's good for drama. Isn't reality TV all about the drama? :teeth:

I don't really like Bethenny. I'm not sure why, but she bugs me. Anyone else?

I'm absolutely an Apprentice addiction - Martha, Donald....don't care....but what's interesting for me this season, is that I *know* who one of the final two are for Martha - my company is one of the final tasks - and I also now *know* how orchestrated it all is....and I still don't care! I'm still addicted.

I am carefully watching the "Under the Radar" phenomenon.....
