We just got back from our trip, and what a blast it was!!! I got some of the cutest things at DL this trip and was so excited to be given a discount. Thanks to Mary Jo, one of our awesome mods, I read that there was one but had forgotten about it until I went to make my first purchase. It's supposed to be 10% off for DAP and 20% for PAP but it had just begun when we got there and I guess the CMs were confused about it because we got 20% off sometimes and 10% off others which we thought depended on the store. Didn't figure out it was the CMs not knowing which discount to give us until later :confused3. They seemed to have it figured out by the 3rd day :rotfl:.

Anyway, food from the candy shops and merchandise from the stores/hotels qualifies!

I also saw more novelty items than I have in the recent past. I got a red metal MM cookie cutter, some cute flannel-square MM jammie bottoms, a top that has the Mad Hatter and says "We're all mad here" (very appropriate at my house), some salt and pepper shakers that have a pic from the tea party when you put them together. I also got this cool Alice in Wonderland mug--when you pour hot liquid into it, the Cheshire cat in the tree disappears except for his smile!

My sis got one of those GCH tiles that has a redwood tree on it and is going to incorporate it in her new kitchen. She got 20% off on that one :goodvibes

Thanks for posting this! I'll be in the Park in a little over a week & had no idea that they're offering discounts on merchandise for AP'ers! The Cheshire Cat mug sounds super-cute! Did they by any chance have an Alice tea set (with a teapot & cups)?

We saved a LOT of money with that discount last week. Everything in Disneyland, California Adventure, Downtown Disney and the hotels were discounted, even the character meals.

Dizme, I have a DAP, and I know you get 10% off of food, but is this a new thing are DAP actually getting 10% off merchandise now, and is it only for this weekend, or is it there for good? I know poohs corner said they don't take the pass unless you spend a certain amount so is this something new? Thanks

It's a special thing for the holidays, now through Jan. 3rd!!! All AP's that normally get no merch. discount is 10%, and PAP's that normally get 10% are 20%!!

it's just for the holiday season. 10% off merchandise through Jan 3.

I thought that didn't start just yet......woo hooooooooo I'm excited, we will be getting 20% off!!! YAY!

Wow, I never knew this! I have to say, for all the many emails I get about a bunch of Disney stuff I am never going to spend money on, Disney is not that great at say...marketing AP benefits to AP holders so the AP holders will come more and spend more money. What's up with that??

I didn't know about it either...it was a nice little bonus on our trip last week. :goodvibes

Of course, it's also a brilliant marketing plan. There is supposed to be a $10 minimum purchase to qualify, which some CMs hold to and others do not. I had to add a few more Mickey truffles to my bag to get my discount. So let's see, I was going to buy 4 ($5) but by buying 8 and spending $10 I saved $1 :confused3 :rotfl:

When I got 20% off, I added some $38 flannels, a $20 pair of Mickey boxers for dh and $25 worth of trinkets for my girls. But hey, I saved 20% on those items I wasn't going to buy

I also succumbed to the spend-$40-and-get-a-holiday-throw-for-$17 thing. Three times. Good gifts, right ;)? I still can't believe I didn't end up with a MM watch.

I am a tiny microcosm of the CA state budget fiasco

You had me laughing out loud! New meaning for "snowball" up there. Here's hoping I don't have as much fun in the shops as you did; my credit card bill is going to be grim enough, I'm afraid. :)

*gets out trip list to add new cheshire mug...* Thanks for posting this! I had no idea...even a 10% discount for the deluxe is awesome!

You guys came up with the perfect rationale for me spending money I don't have...it's a service to my country and I'm not one to shirk my duty :rotfl:

I can't take a picture of the mug until I get back home after Thanksgiving, but it's really cute. It's white with pictures like the drawings from the original book in black showing a tree with the Cheshire Cat sitting in it.

I *think* they had a tea set as well, but I can't for the life of me remember for sure. There were dessert plates with 2 different pictures, salt and pepper shakers, the mug, and I'm not sure what else.

Regarding the Alice/Chesire tea set... I know there (used to be, at least) was a teapot and matching fancy teacup and saucer that were kinda Alice themed. Mostly white, but with drawings on them.

Another bonus using the PAP when we bought dinner in DCA at the Paradise Pier Sourdough place with the Sourdough soupbowls, I ordered a medium soda and right now when using your PAP you get a free upgrade to a large soda. My DS and I shared a soda by just getting an extra cup of ice. Our bill for two corn chowders in bread bowls and a large soda and a cup of ice which included the free upgrade and the PAP discount was $18.00 and change. Not very often can two people eat a good meal at DLR for under $20.;)

I just saw on the website that AP appreciation week is December 5-12th, with a bunch of great deals on the 5th including a special early entry to the WoD store in DTD. It seems that a lot of the deals go through the week, with the best being on the 5th. Can't quite figure out all the deals from the website, but it looks like it's select stores in DTD, a few restaurants, and the Disney property hotel gift shops.

Anyone know what other deals they are giving PAP on food, other than the 15% and the large soda upgrade?
