So, it's 11 am and we've been up since 4:30 am :headache:. It seems like a great time to start the annual What was hot/What was not list of Christmas presents.

For DD6, Silly Hair Lalaloopsy was a big hit. She also really liked her new Pet Pals 2 Leapster Explorer game.

For DS9, his new laptop was a huge hit. He also got about 4 new Lego City sets and those are already put together. I don't even think he used the instruction manual on most of them---his brain is just wired that way.

No real misses here. DS9 got a new bike, but can't ride it until the snow melts in about 6 months :rotfl2:.

What were your family's hits and misses this holiday season?

It's 10:30 here. My ds15 just got up & jumped in the shower first.

What's not going to be hot is the Jets jersey he wanted, I bought a kids xl instead of adult xl. Whoops, I think the price should have clued me in.

DD9 = Hot 32gb Ipod Touch and fuzzy socks
Not Hot the cool feather hair clip ins(guess they are not that cool)

DD7 = Hot 32 gb Ipod Touch, Feather hair clip ins, Monster High dolls, and sticker books
Not Hot Tea Cup Piggy & Squinkies

DS6 = Hot LeapPad
Not Hot Matchbox racecars, PaperJamz Guitar, Legos

DD4 = Hot Princess and Me Ariel & LeapPad
Not Hot TeaCup puppy

DD is 17.

Nothing that wasn't hot...a kindle, a vera bradley purse, an origami calendar, breast cancer awareness pencils were the "big" things.

DS16 - hot - tools and more tools (and toolbag) and xbox game
not hot - nothing - he even liked the new coat! :cool1:

DS12 - hot galaxy tablet
not hot - he didn't get much else....

Hope everyone had a spectacular Christmas morning!

Dd 14- Hit- Kindle Fire. She hasn't put it down in hours!

Dd 20- Hit- Oddly enough, the Kat VonD book! She cried, while we all looked at each other like....:confused3. :rotfl:

Dbf of Dd20- The Perplexus!! That was a surprise big hit here! I got two, and they were played with over and over!

The only miss this year was necklaces I had hand made from Etsy, which were cheaply made and the presonalization smudged on them both. Grrr

DD15--can't really say for sure, her camera hasn't come yet so I had to give her a picture of it :headache:

DS14--hits: MWF 3 for wii, tablet, rc helicopter
miss: PS2 game, but only because our PS2 won't work.

DS12--hits: laptop and accessories
miss: nothing really

DS10--hits: Cars squinkies, definitely 3DS and games
miss: r/c Lightning McQueen because it doesn't work well at all

DS8--hits: dentist play-doh, r/c monster truck, finger lights (little lights that strap onto your fingers from Dollar General), ipod touch

No misses from him yet, but he hasn't played with his paper jamz microphone or wappy dog at all.

Oh, I forgot mine. Hits: webcam from MIL that she gave to me early so DH was able to see the kids open presents this morning and a collage picture frame. My Disney Dooney & Burke purse and wireless keyboard and mouse from DH And from my kids a stress ball that plugs into the computer :rotfl2:.

Miss: speech recognition software :confused3 I'm not sure why my MIL's husband thought this would be useful to me, I can't even talk on the phone uninterrupted, my house is very loud and chaotic plus it slows down my computer. But it's probably a good product, he uses it with good results and my teens may use it for school papers and stuff so I will probably uninstall it and see if we can put it on one of their laptops instead.

Everything here was a hit!

DS (18) - loves his new laptop and HP Touchpad. Also really liked all the clothes, especially the gloves.

DD (20) - her favorites were her "cheetah" bedding and the amika hair straightener. I think she'll really like her Blackberry Playbook once she gets going with it. She's not the electronic/techie that her brother is. She'll probably get him to set it up for her and then use it.

for me: My new laptop! I also got the Willow Tree figurine I wanted, and a pretty necklace
For DH: A train trip to Boston and a day at the Museum of Science (his favorite museum) and a Kinex roller coaster. He just finished step 7 of assembly...only 59 steps to go...

not so much a hit: we got 5 calendars from various people. No idea what to do with 5 calendars!

Well, it is ME DH and DD8 here. SO far, the big hit has been Skylanders. We have been playing off and on since about 8am. Nothing really seems to be a miss yet!

Big Hits for me: My Kinect and a few games and a recipe box with some of my grandma's old recipes in it (she passed away in September)

Big Hits for my mom: Her Keurig and all sorts of drinks

No misses!

so far everything has been a hit here too.

DD5 1/2: Kanani American GIrl doll that she has not put down and is in love with :). Also she likes the playskool desk her 1 1/2 year old sister got. OOPS, guess she'll need a new desk now.

DD1 1/2: Rapunzel baby doll, Figit (she screams "tell a joke" as loud as she can at this thing LOL) and her desk.

DD4 - HOT: Princess squinkies, Hearts for Hearts doll, coloring stuff (markers/paper/etc), stuffed Hello Kitty, and her sister's doll house RV

DD3 - HOT: Singing & Story telling Belle doll, stuffed Tigger her aunt got her from DisneyWorld, coloring stuff,

DS 4months - HOT: Everything that lights up, makes noise, or he can chew on!

Not HOT: Nothing yet, they didnt really get a whole lot of stuff this year.

All hits here ~ no real misses (I define "misses" as being something I'd have to take back to the store, LOL)

DS16 ~ Xbox & 3DS games

DS14 ~ 32gb Ipod Touch, Xbox games, Hoodie

DS10 ~ Laptop, Skylanders

DS5 ~ Everything! Gotta love 5 yr olds! Biggest hit so far has got to be the Scrabble Alphabet Scoop game. We have played it multiple times today.

DS9 .. so far so good... Gagadar balls and racetrack , Skylanders all super hot, chemistry set all good too . Not so hot, but still seemed happy , new tennis shoes like all the kids wearing at school , black low nike socks , he promptly told me he couldn't wear to school ,but said he still likes.
He was pleased with Santa gift of Nintendo 3DS.. he didn't ask for it

Legos , he didn't open, but he has a million and he will get around to opening i know . No need to get it all out today.

We really overdid it , so much I didn't name here , but I don't buy much during year, so I tend to go nuts .

DH seemed happy , he got several new LSU shirts , two hats, one beanie skull cap. All of the Tool CD's .

I loved my new Tervis LSU polka dot cup and a Gel pro kitchen mat for in front of kitchen stove.. DH wanted to make sure I liked it as they are pretty pricey , since I do , he is going to get me one for in front of sink this week.
Books , new LSU ornament for my LSU tree and new Pjs from Soma all please me too.. he did a great job !

We plan on shopping this week too, we need new skillets for the kitchen , all sizes . I am counting that as my Christmas too lol.

It was a good day here, dd16 is happy, iPhone 4s has not left her hand since Dad let her activate it on Friday. She also scored a lucky handbag and a Kate Spade one (lucked up on both at TJ Maxx), more Justin Bieber perfume (Free with ULTA points), Michael Kors watch and wristlet (Also TJM), Rainbow flip flops (here in the south we wear then year round) and of course, clothes. Dd14 scored a Nook tablet, afghan, journal, baby g watch, Dooney and Bourke handbag and clothes. Again, some items came from TJM and Tuesday Morning. One of her favorite items is a Tiffany & Co. Silver key pendant that I got at a consignment store for $60 (retail around $200). Hubby got me a John medeiros necklace and perfume by Tocca. I'm proud of my consignment finds of two Silpada necklaces for <$25 each!

DS10 got a laptop, HUGE hit. Other then that he didn't get a whole lot.

DS5 got a DSi XL, Huge hit, and a Scooby game, Huge hit.

DS3 got a bunch of misc. toys. His biggest hit was DS5's old DS he inherited.

DW got a camcorder and an Under Armour sweatshirt, so was happy.

I got a Cubs Shirt, a One Hour massage GC, a new wallet, so I was happy.

Our biggest shock was last night at my in-laws. DW's grandmother handed us and her brothers family a check with a comma in it. That was A HUGE HIT!

All huge hits! :santa:

DN7 Monster High dolls
DN9 Abercrombie Kids outfit
DN11 Abercrombie Kids outfit

No losers yet except that DD11's pjs are too small.

DD17 - laptop, huge hit but having issues with internet connections. She is also thrilled with her new purple camera from gma/gpa

DD11 - ipod touch - big surprise so her face was great, she has also already played w/Pictionary Man, a crochet kit, and beading kit. Holiday Bakery legos not opened yet but sure that will be played with this week. She loves food toys.

DS9 - biggest hits are Skylander & Zelda wii games. Nook Color a somewhat hit -I think he will love it but we're having some issues getting started & finding the Need for Speed game he loves. He loves to read too so hopefully this will be a good gift since he didn't want to exchange it for a touch. We thought the bigger screen would be better for games & books.

Klutz activity books have not been opened yet but those are more secondary gifts that will be used once the big exciting gifts have gotten played first.

Love my Tervis tumbler - DH picked one w/my hometown state flowers on it.

DH may return his touch - doesn't think he'll use it but he's been on DS's Nook playing Angry Birds all afternoon! :lmao:
