the american adventure show

My favorite part is the "One Wore Blue and One Wore Gray" (or is that part of the HoP?) Either way, we're definitely doing these again this year because we started our American History curriculum last spring and this will be a great supplement. My kids have never complained that it's boring in the past (they know better than to complain that they're bored) and I think they'll better appreciate the attraction now that they've learned about it. We also love the Voices of Liberty and always make sure they're singing before we head to the AA.[/Quote)
"One Wore Blue and One Wore Gray" is indeed part of the AA show. We love that part too. Some folks think that the whole show is too "Disneyfied" but what do they expect Disney to show, crack houses and school shootings?? (The attraction was made prior to 9/11 so there is no talk of terrorism.) They do address the horrors of wars, civil and otherwise, but in a family appropriate manner.

I can't wait to see it! Is there any way I might be able to get a schedule before I go to epcot? It's not on the stevesoares website.

In August on our trip it was our 1st time in seeing the American Adventure. We also saw the "preshow" with the CM's dressed in heritage clothes and singing songs. We also saw Hall of Presidents for the 1st time in 10 years. We loved both shows and so did our DS's ages 9 & 7. It great me a new appreciate for the America and what we stand for and everything that we have gone thru and still go thru. My DH and I both thought that the schools should have something like that for the kids so they can have a better appreication for what our forefathers went thru.

Wow, I dont think its too disneyfied at all, in fact looking back on it, some of the scenery in the civil war scenes is not good or happy.

I have always enjoyed AA and there really has never been another attraction like it. The amount of work that went into making it was also massive, there's a LOT that has to go on under the stage to make it all work correctly every time.

I can understand some younger kids not being really involved in it, until you get to learn more about history in class or however do you really appreciate how the story in AA is told

I last saw the Voices of Liberty perform on the 4th of July. It was such an emotional thing seeing the VOL on the 4th that it brings tears to my eyes right now just thinking of it. What made it really special was when I walked out of AA,it was only a couple minutes from Discovery lifting off.

My family loves this show, including my 12 and 17 yo DD's. I get teary-eyed everytime and so does my oldest DD. Not only are there animatronics involved, but real pics are shown of the Civil War era, etc. Very touching. The montage of famous Americans is what really gets to me. They show Ryan White and since I live right in the area he did and saw what he went thru almost first hand, I tear up every time. I get so mad at our government sometimes, but I leave the AA feeling proud of all the wonderful people who've contributed to the part of America that is so great.

This is such a great attraction. It's one of my favorite attractions at EPCOT.
