The Amazing Race - Season 34

do none of them watch previous seasons to prepare? I can't drive a stick shift, but you can be sure if I was going on this show I would learn
My wife and I say that every season, lol. But to be fair it's not even that easy to get access to a manual car these days, plus someone who knows how that can teach you. But you'd have months of lead time, seems like they could do it.

I can technically drive a stick, but haven't in many years. And if I had to do it "backwards" in a right hand drive car it wouldn't be pretty.

She was behaving like a spoiled brat. You shouldn't have applied to be on the show if you didn't want to work hard. I'm sure she has seen the show before to know what some of the challenges entail. "I want to go home because my arms hurt", give me a break. And the rainbow girl with wanting to take the time penalty before she even started the challenge. Good Lord, at least try!
imagine how bad she's gonna be if they last long enough that she has to do something really difficult or scary.

I'm good with who got eliminated too. I guess a team is going to have to leave because of COVID, that really stinks, unless it ends up being a camera person and they are making it look like it's a team member.

Yeah thought it was weird that Phil had the cameraman in the background. You my be right.

I was so thankful the daughter wasn't doing the metal detector challenge.

It would suck to get eliminated because you caught covid. :( If it is a team, hopefully not one I like. :rotfl:

Anyone else sad when they showed the puppy? ughhhhhhhhh

I'm wondering if it is a team that has COVID, will the father and daughter that just got eliminated get put back into the race.

I didn't mind who went home either although she was better this time than last episode.

It was so cool for them to be surrounded by those sites at Petra.

I too thought it was interesting for the camera man to be in the shot talking about covid.

I wonder if it’s one of the teams who were in the car without masks. It seems that most wore masks but a couple of teams did not.

I think the fair thing to do would be allow all the eliminated teams to compete for that spot. Amazing Race Canada did that.

She was still complaining about how her dad was doing the challenge, something she had no place in doing after she's acted.

Too bad the team that has Covid and had to leave was one of my favorites. Glad they did not bring anyone back. Sad to see the newlyweds in last they are ones I really like along with the twins and Claire & Derek.

Felt bad for the team that had to leave because of Covid. I'm glad they did a non-elimination and Glenda and Lumumba can now still race. They focus on the 45 minutes between the first teams, but how much behind are they than the teams right in front of them I wonder

Groups will leave every 15 minutes, so not too far behind. I don't like this staggered release at the pit start, preferred when their start was related to the timing of their finish of the previous leg.

Okay, so 15 minutes isn't bad. Not sure why they are so focused on the first teams being 45 ahead. You are still at the part of the race that you just don't want to come in last.

Welp that was a bummer about the covid test. I am actually glad they didn't bring someone back, they did have to turn the leg into a non-elimination (well at least that was what I assumed they did as I don't think it was planned this way) but will the 45 mins be enough of a detriment or not will be one to see.

That alphabet challenge whew that was hard, not sure how I would have done in learning dance moves but memorizing even just 14 (if splitting it up between the two) with getting the sounds just right would be a challenge for me.

I did think the dancer team was a tad overconfident in their ability to do the dance challenge. Yes you're a dancer so you can learn moves quickly but not all dance styles are the same. I used to see this a lot when watching Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Making the Team. When they would do hip hop lessons for example you would always see how that different style affected people differently in how their bodies move. When you do a certain style for so long your body may not naturally move with a different one. In any case glad they were able to finish the challenge without too much fuss, they kept the positivity up there.

I did sorta have to think back to the earlier conversation about learning skills, how do you not know how to hammer something. I mean I like a smaller lighter hammer myself but I do know how to use one.

The letter challenge....I immediately said to my husband you would learn half and I would learn half. I don't know why teams wasted time making all of them learn the whole thing. I feel like a genius sitting on the couch. I'm absolutely certain we would lose in the first leg if were ever on the show.:-) I also know if there was a dance challenge I would be there while the sun was setting and Phil was checking his watch.

I do love the married couple who came in last so I hope they make progress next week. They are super likable in my opinion.

I kept thinking it would be easier to hammer downwards instead of sideways/crouching down. Not sure if I'm explaining that correctly :rotfl:

I loved how supportive Lumumba was.

Felt bad about the eliminated team, especially because they had potential.

I'm an arm chair spectator when I watch too. ;);)

The alphabet challenge seemed really hard to me, but they all seemed to get it quickly. It must have been so hot dancing in the sun with two sets of clothes on. Yikes

Dang, the COVID team was one of my top 3 picks.

I feel like this season is once again boring. I know it's because of the COVID precautions, it just makes for a boring show. I like when they had to worry about getting good flight times, leaving based on the time you finished, bring back when you could hold a team up for a time.

I don't think most of the teams doing the alphabet challenge read the clue correctly. The brothers reread the clue and that's when they realized they could split it up. If the couple who was having trouble with the "R" would have noticed that, he wouldn't have had to spend so much time practicing rolling the "r".
