~ The Amazing Race ~ Season 16 ~

I'm also rooting for the cowboys and/or cops to win. I really can't stand Brett/Caite or the lesbians. The brothers are growing on me a little. LOL:lmao:

cowboys for me to win.

although there over the top niceness sometimes gets on my nerves (ie "oh my gravy" - who says that gees) it's the fact that they don't talk smack about anyone that i like - well they might but we don't see it.

it shows that you don't have to be a jerk to get ahead.

the models - can't stand them and have wanted them out early on

elimination station is so scripted - it's very much like the jury house on big brother. ok we'll record you for 10 minutes starting NOW - give us something to use.

Love the Cowboys!!!!

What a come back! When it took them awhile to get a cab, we were sure that was going to doom them from the start.

I, too, wish Steve and Allie had made more of a go at the flag challenge. I understand that there's editing involved, but it looked like the cowboys completed it in less than 5 minutes--the one guy got it first shot, the second guy took maybe 2 minutes. Again, I know it's edited, but they really screamed through. They didn't show Allie really trying, and I was so hoping they could gain time! The incense challenge seemed so much more time-consuming.

So happy for the cowboys! Not just that they did so well, but they seemed to have their heads in the game so much better this week. I'm a sucker for the teams that take the race as a big adventure to be savored.

I don't think this was that much time editing for this one. It took all the other teams a long time to do the other challenge. Carol and Brandy weren't the first ones done but they were the team that saw Jet and Cord leave the Roadblock. When you add in the fact that Jet and Cord had to wait for a taxi at the snake temple, drive to the Detour, do it, drive to the roadblock, then drive to the speed bump - which I believe the cab driver said was a 15 minute drive to get there - do the speed bumb, then drive back (that adds a half hour just to travel to the speed bump), do the roadblock, be back in the cab and leaving before Carol and Brandy see them. Yea, I think the flag challenge was done very quickly by them.

It'll be interesting to see what the differences are in the depart times are next week. Although, it didn't seem like it took Carol very long to get thru the roadblock. They could have picked up some time there.

Oh well, sorry to see them go. I want the cowboys or cops now but I am almost rooting against Caite more then for anyone. I really can't stand her. Whatever it is that happens next week the lesbians are right, they are idiots.

Getting out of the cab was a big mistake but even bigger was giving up so quickly at the flag challenge. Unless they were there a long time and the editing made it look like Allie gave up early that really didn't look like a hard challenge.

I'm not so sure about the lesbian team or the brothers. Either they were getting really unfavorable editing in the beginning and are not now or they had a heart to heart between themselves and decided to stop being such whinny teams. Even with the breaks the lesbians kept having to take with the torches they were pretty nice to each other.

They don't seem to be complaining as much--but I am wondering if it is mostly editing. It seems that it is mostly "anonymous" that other teams don't care for them.

Or perhaps they realized and are trying hard to not be the unfavored team.:confused3

On the departure times--I found it very interesting that the cowboys were only 3 minutes behind and that included the run/swim back to get the bottle with the map. Brandy and Carol definitely caught a lucky break last week.

Most teams did well this week. It is unfortunate that the Father/Daughter kept making repeated poor decisions and couldn't catch up.

As for Caite and her model boyfriend--Brandy and Carole in the preview are showing their true disdian. In the model's defense--the girls haven't liked them from the beginning for no other reason than the girl was a beauty queen that they could poke fun of. I'm sure that is why Caite demonstrates some of her demeanor towards them. Who's going to like someone that is mean?

Words are just words--but they do offend people. I'm not so sure Brandy and Carole would have been sweethearts to Caitie if she made some inappropriate comments about their relationship.

I'm curious to see why they felt the need to call the models idiots, next week.

gaud - is Joe going to ask everyone that gets eliminated if "Mike and Louie can't beat a guy with 1 leg and a PTA mom"

if i were his wife i'd tell him to shut the hell up - just because she's a PTA mom didn't mean she couldn't do anything.

he really needs to get over himself and the fact that he got u-turned.

i don't believe for one second that given the chance he (joe) wouldn't have used the u'turn on someone - maybe not louie and mike (thought i bet it would have been) but he would have used it on someone.

it's a game jerk - get over it

::yes:: I don't think the other teams (besides the models) really dislike Carol and Brandy so much. It just seems that way because Caite gets so much screen time saying "those mean lesbians" over and over. :rotfl:

If I remember correctly, several other teams have complained about Carol and Brandy.Their names have come up a few times from other teams when Phil asked them.

I think that their names were brought up last night when they talked about a possible U-turn.

Now that Steve and Allie are out, I really want the brothers to win and the cops to come in second.

Well my kids all want the Cowboys to win. And they were so worried last night and then went into victory dance mode when they won the leg! It was a good show for our family last night!
I was surprised - I thought they would be gonners I was even starting in on the "Hey we really like the cops too!" So for us as long as one of those 2 teams win we'll be good.

Do they normally have more than 1 U turn a season. It seems to me it's just once in the race but I could be mistaken.

I missed the first 40 minutes of the show and tuned in to see the cowboys start on their way to the pit stop. It must have been an amazing day for them!

I watched EL just a minute ago. Joe needs to just let things go but I don't see him doing that. He is such a strong competitor that he takes everything so personally. I'm hoping that tomorrow there will be another EL to watch that shows the father/daughter team arriving. They did that the week that AR left South America and went to Europe.

I am so glad the Cowboys are back on top. :woohoo:

Guess balancing broom sticks on their noses when they were kids came in handy for balancing huge flag poles on there heads, who knew.

It looks like Brent (Cole Hammels look-a-like) and Caite will get a chance to finally do something smart next week to the lesbians to get that kind of reaction. I just can't see the models and the lesbians lasting the next 2 weeks. Hated to see Steve and Allie leave. Wanted to see them make the final 3 because he was the Phillies third base coach when they won the World Series. Always have to root for the home team (even though he is not with them now).

Not sure.

I have noticed that we have not had a FF this season either.

There is another thing you can do to the team--the one that requires a team to sit while an hour glass sifts sand for a set amount of time. Is that the Yield, perhaps?

Maybe that is what it is.

Suffice it to say, if the models use something within the game--I still don't get why it ticks off teams so much to a personal level. It stinks--but I'm not sure it is "idiotic" or "stupid".

We'll have to wait and see what happens.

I was wondering about that - he said he had a World Series Ring. Thanks for the tidbit.

I hadn't thought about the Fast Forward or the Yield this season. It's probably too late in the race to do the FF now though. I guess the U Turn took the Yield's place.

Are you sure it was only 3 minutes, I thought it was a whole hour.

Someone explain how Allie and Steve ended up doing the Flag carrying, when the 3 teams were going to the other place. I know they got out of their vehicles and the cab driver said it was only 5 more minutes. They got back in the cab and they got lost with the brothers. I totally lost what happened there. The cops stayed in the taxi and they went to the Flag Poles challenge.
