~ The Amazing Race ~ Season 16 ~

I like the cowboys first, the models second, and the brothers third.

The brothers annoy me with their "bro" this and "bro" that! Plus they're kinda whiny.

it's the "good gravy" that drives me batty

I'm surprised that Jeff didn't pay one of those Mexican wrestlers to come rough him up. :rotfl2:

He should had :lmao: Jeff was only asking him when they were in the pool and Joe was crying and whining, jeff asked him do you thing it was personal? Maybe you did something? And then Joe got all angry elf at Jeff for telling him that, he went and told Heidi and she said maybe they were mad at YOU :rotfl2: but not to me HELLO!! Get the message Joe? You are a dirt bag but you don't like to hear the truth.
THe grandma was happy that the cops were gone, she gave Joe high 5, whatever. I don't know how they lived in that house with him all those days

Never mind, I get it now..you are talking about elimination station

You're right. If my sister was ever a contestant, she'd have an advantage almost everywhere. She speaks 6 languages fluently and is working hard to master Thai. She also dabbles in about a dozen or so other languages and could probably hold her own in most countries. She is just amazing with languages.

I don't think that is any more fair or unfair than having specific characteristics to make the teams interesting. What she has in languages, she lacks in other things like physical strength and math. Each team has their own niche of advantages.

Edited to add: should AR not allow beautiful people to compete since they tend to have an advantage with people wanting to help them?

This is what I think. It is an advantage but not an unfair one. Some people have an advantage because they are good with languages, others because they are good with math (the money exchange challenge from last year), some will have an advantage because they are strong or fast or have high endurance.

Throughout the course of the race there will be things that favor you and things that have you at a disadvantage. It is up to you to take advantage of the former and limit the damage of the later. Life is much like that and just like the race there are those that just complain and those that deal and overcome.

I agree that knowing multiple languages is an advantage but not an unfair one. Come on-everyone who watches TAR should know that if you get a chance to compete, you need to do three things.

1) Get in shape
2) Learn to drive a stick shift car
3) Learn key phrases in a variety of languages

I find it so funny when contestants are in a foreign country and can't understand why they don't speak english. :rotfl:

I watched Elimination Station last night and Joe is just being unreasonable. He's not going to get the answer he wants. The more stink he raises about the U-turn, the more he shows what a jerk he is. I would really hate to be married to him. Always having to pacify and mediate.

I just caught up with the show online. I am sad that the cops are gone and Brent and Caite are left. I will be bummed if they win.

No special dinner on Sunday. We went to Milwaukee for a swim meet and ended up at the Safe House for dinner.

The finish line is in San Francisco. Crab and sourdough?

OT-I didn't know the Safe House had food. My older kids usually take friends from out of town. They say they usually have one drink and leave, drinks are too expensive. I personally have never been there, and would like to go.

The food was OK, but overpriced just like the drinks.

So ... my DH will be gone on business (on Mother's day :headache:) and one of my friends will be at her mom's house. It's just me and another friend. Not quite as much fun as I wanted it to be. At least I'll save money on crab. Maybe I'll spring for a dungeness crab for us instead of Alaskan crab legs.

I'm watching and it's good. :goodvibes

I have to say that as much as I love this show, season after season I'm so upset at how badly some of the teams treat people. Brent and Caite deserve to lose based on how mean they were to their poor cab driver. :headache:

Well, that certainly sucked. Not the result I was hoping for. (Not a spoiler, I've never posted my preference for who I wanted to win.)

I was hoping Karma would kick in...darn.

The cowboys are too nice.

Can't believe the lesbians are still made at Catie. :sad2:

A bit disappointing after the airport stunt but the lesbians are very bad people. They need to check their attitudes at the door. The slow clap and the no clap were pathetic.
