The Amazing Race 7...official Thread

the previews showed Gretchen getting hurt (badly it seems) and a vehicle crash. So maybe with those two events, the editing would not allow for everything to be shown in one hour.

I forgot that there seemed to be a couple of accidents next week. Maybe you're right, they might have needed extra footage to show what happened during these accidents and how everyone turned out. I wonder if anyone gets too hurt to continue. Hopefully not. I believe that would be a first for AR. I know it has happened on Survivor.

I'm glad someone else picked up on this. I thought that was a nice bit of editing showing how two different couples reacted to the same thing. Once appreciated it while the other just saw only the negative.

Patrick said at the pit stop that maybe he ought to stop taking things so seriously. You think?

I think I totally missed this, what was the street performer doing?

I love Rob and Amber. I like that they are calm and work together as a team. They also are focused on the race and not on what the other teams are doing.

What I don't understand is all the people that don't like them and think he is rude but have nothing to say about the teams on the plane that were praying for them not to make the flight. Isn't that also being rude?

Rob is also the only one that I have seen be friendly towards all the locals they encounter. Most of the other teams are complaining about the cab drivers, the people etc.

As far as CBS fixing the show. They can't do that. It's against the law.

He was juggling at a road intersection.

Can anyone else smell an Amazing Race All-Stars coming? ( I have to sit down, I am dizzy at the thought of so much entertainment.)

:worship: :worship: :worship: I would LOVE to see an All-Stars! That's got to be in the works.

There's been a few posts here that AR needed Romber to help with their ratings. I'm surprised, I thought AR was a hit show in the US? I know it's always done really well in Canada.

I never thought i would root for rob and amber, wasn't crazy about either one on survivor, but rob has won me over on amazing race.If they keep going the way there going, unless something really drastic happens i think they will win.

I just had to add Rob's quote to my sig. It just cracked me up!

Ohh Thank you, I somewhat remember it, I think I was posting here...LOL

OMG I love this thread and I am liking this season - second only to the very first.

Romber - I did not like or dislike them on Survivor but was kind of PO'd at the idea of them doing AR - I LOVE them now. They play the game, know the rules, enjoy the race and treat each other respectfully. I liked how Rob - took Ambers statement, "umm we can't do that" when he mentioned taking a car with more gas. It seems like he throws out some ideas and she has the concience - and I like that they both know the rules so well.

Oh and FWIW I live just north of boston and the horseshoe comment is just one of those phrases "some folks" around here say when they feel lucky. Some (definately not all!) of his arrogance are just regional phrases.

Boyfriends - I wish they would just play their own game.

Mom & Son - total lack of respect shown by both of them I was not sorry to see them eliminated.

Ray & Deena - Don't like they way they treat each other and wouldn't mind seeing them go.

The older couple - like them sometimes, not others. Won't mind watching them to see how they handle things when the competition gets more intense.

FWIW - I don't think they held the plane but may have booked a certain # of flights on each aircraft in which case they may have intended to accomodate the first five teams. It seems to depend on the country how much control over the reservations the teams have.

I also read that the length of time on the food challenge through a wrinkle in the producers plans for that leg of the race.

Liking the brothers, Uch and Joyce and of course Romber. My jury is still out on the Boyfriends, I could like them if they start playing their own game.

Humm I read that Rob/Amber asked applied and really showe interest in playing AR. I will check around and see if I can find where I read that.

My thoughts are that CBS will not allow Rob and Amber to win (yes, I think they are "helped" as needed) but that they will make it to the final 3. They are huge for the ratings and CBS won't take the chance of losing viewers by having them be eliminated.

That would be ILLEGAL. No team can be helped/favored by the producers of the show--or any game show/quiz show or whatever.

Making the plane--they didn't say what time they arrived nor how long they took to get to the airport from the challenge. Rob said it was 9am...so if they arrived at 9:29am and the airline opted to let them on--then it was purely luck on their side.

I doubt the plane was held due to spacing/reservations as someone had suggested earlier.

Anyone know why they changed this part of the race? I liked the idea that it was a flight free for all. It was entertaining to see how clever the teams could be to beat each other. Wonder if it was because they were getting multiple bookings?

Perhaps small airport? That is my guess---they have chartered flights before--but it was to very remote places.

Just after winning Survivor All Stars they did alot of interviews and when asked what they were going to do next, they kept saying they wanted to do the Amazing Race. They were big fans of the show and really wanted to be on.
For everyone who is upset that their notoriety got them on the show, I wonder how you think the P.O.W. got on.

I LOVE Rob and Amber. I hope they win. I was jumping up and down when they made the plane last night.

I had never heard that saying before, but it's definitely one of my favorites now!

Just have to echo what everyone else is saying- I am *loving* Romber on AR!! I didn't like them a whole lot on all 3 of their episodes of Survivor (esp thought Amber was a dud in Australia), but they are a GREAT team on AR and incredibly entertaining to watch. Great teamwork, they think things through in the game, treat each other with respect and are funny!!!!! I hope they go very far in the game.

Glad mother and son are gone- they were incredibly annoying. Am hoping Deana and Ray or the boyfriends are next. The boyfriends drive me insane with their cattiness towards Romber. Stupid waste of energy. And I'm sure there's editing involved, but Amber and Rob have shown respect to the other teams, unless they are disrespected first. They play the game well- I don't understand why another team hasn't realized that and tried to buddy up with them a little bit!

My hopes for final three are definitely Rob and Amber, the brothers, and then I guess Joyce and Uchenna.

It has won multiple Emmy's but has never had the ratings of other reality shows.

I never posted here and do not know anyone else's oppinions, but I like the older couple and the boyfriends. I feel like they can keep it going. ::yes::
