The Amazing Race 6...Official Thread

Dumb Question here...How does the Fast Forward work?
They get to bypass everything, but yet they still have to do something that noone else does before going directly to the Pit Stop?..
Didn't the couple with the other one have to drink something that resembled blood or something..? :earseek:

Now, there are only 2 FF in the race. I believe at the beginning there was one on every leg. And yes, they have their own little task to do. Otherwise it would be too easy. Last week Lori and Bolo had to drink pig's blood. And they did it without a second thought too. Wow!

Last season there was one where the team would have had to cut off all their hair (completely off) for some sort of local ceremony. The two models went to try the task (they don't know what it is until they get there). And they wouldn't do it, so they came in last because they had to go back and do the other tasks. It was a non-elim round so they were still able to stay in the game, much to the dismay of most of us here.

I notice that sometimes the FF give the team a huge advantage. I think last night the other teams still had two different challenges to do. Last week, Lori and Bolo only skipped one challenge and they were only an hour ahead of the rest of the teams. We'll see how far ahead Rebecca and Adam are next week. I bet it's a lot longer than an hour.

Ugh.....I so wanted Hayden to be eliminated (her whining is getting me big time)....it's between them or Jonathan & Victoria. Durn the non-elimination round last night......would have been one or the other.

.

You know I thought this too, but then after next week's preview, I am convinced she is suffering from stress being around J&V 24-7. When you think about it, these teems are together a lot. I think she would be better if they weren't there. (I still don't like her though !!!)

And excuse all my previous posts...Victoria belongs with Johnathan...they are pathetic!!!

You might be right about Jonathan rubbing off on Hayden. She does seem that she's stressed out all of a sudden. Maybe she was in an abusive relationship and J & V are bringing up bad memories for her. Isn't she the one in next week's episode yelling at Jonathon to go help Victoria?

I'm new to this thread but a huge fan of the Amazing Race. I haven't read the past 40 pages of posts so I'm not sure if this has been discussed already. I just can't get over John and Victoria! I really don't think it's just for show. That guy is downright abusive. He's physically pushed her and you could tell a few times he was raising his hand to hit her. A couple of shows ago I was sure that Phil was going to disqualify them or something for his abusive behavior. I'm really dissapointed that the show is not taking any responsability for this and allowing it to continue without saying anything. They are very borderline on this...allowing psychological abuse to continue for the sake of ratings. I don't know, maybe I'm overreacting. But John is absolutely an abusive person, he fits the profile of someone who's behavior will continue to escalate to physical violence. I think it's horrible that Victoria seems dependant on him and would consider having children with that man. If he treats her that way, he will treat his children that way. And if a parent talked to their child like he talks to Victoria, then that's child abuse. Alright, enough of my rant.

You know, Bolo is no prince either...in last night's episode he was quite rude to Lori during the grape-stomping. At one point he even pretended to back-hand her. I don't think he's anywhere near the level of Jonathan, but he can be very disrespectful as well.
That's just the way those two are. They both can dish it out, but they can both take it too. I think it's part of the whole "pro wrestler" act.The stress and fatigue in AR tends to bring out hidden character flaws, but I told DW early in the show that these two probably act the same way outside of the show. I picture them shopping for groceries, and can see them throwing flying elbow smashes at the meat counter, putting each other in headlocks while checking out, etc. It doesn't seem to bother them, so it doesn't bother me.

J & V are different because it DOES bother them (and me, too).

You might be right. I know the person they showed yelling at Jonathan has brown hair. I wouldn't be surprised though if Jonathan's abusiveness hasn't affected the other players. It looks like sometimes they cringe when he comes over.

At one point he even pretended to back-hand her.

Yeah. And she never flinched. Unlike Victoria. You don't usually flinch unless the threat has actually been carried out in the past.

I think Bolo knows better. Lisa would have decked him in no time.

This is the first season I've watched. Is there some type of reunion show or finale in which all the contestants get to speak openly about their experiences? I would love to hear what they have to say about J & V. Also, when was this race actually completed? So many of the relationships seem to be teetering on destruction...just wondering how many are still together (or even speaking to each other!).

There's no reunion show like with Survivor. But, I think they will all be on "The Early Show" the morning after the last show. Not sure if everyone is on or just the winners. I wish they would do the same thing as Survivor. I would really like to see all the racers (well most of them) talk about the race.

No it was Kendra.

About all of Victoria's whining this week....can I just say I called it?

The unexpected "clips" show we had a couple of weeks ago was so CBS could scramble and re-edit the remaining episodes, to show more of an obnoxious Victoria, than an abusive Jonathan. They may be so good at the editing, we may end ip HOPING Jonathan****s her by the end of the race. (ok, not really, but this is only the 1st week, I am sure we have more Victoria whining to come)

Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!!!!
