THE AMAZING RACE 15, Season Starts 09/27/09

My initial impression is I really liked some players but I was very disappointed with all the sexual references. My DD's 10 and 13 watch this w/me and I thought it was odd for the Aspergers couple to say something like "Now can we go make out?". I just did not it even fit in w/ the situation. No clue why they included it. It would have been an odd statement for a hetro couple to make.
The poker players- are the gay? They seemed more than friends and made several little comments regarding their feelings.
I initially liked a few couples. The Globetrotters are a hoot, loved the blonde soccer player and her SO, like the older dating couple. The rest- I am going to wait to see who stands out.

Only one has Aspergers - from the AR Bio's

Zev Glassenberg (26); Justin Kanew (30)
Hometown: Sherman Oaks, Calif. / Los Angeles
Occupation: Unemployed/VP of Production and Development for National Lampoon
Relationship: Friends

Zev and Justin's friendship started six years ago when they were working as camp counselors and the two have been very close ever since. Zev has Asperger's Syndrome, but they don't let it affect their relationship. They share friends and interests, and the friendship is as mutually beneficial as any could be.

Zev is an avid sports fan — especially basketball — and he has an intense competitive spirit. He describes himself as funny, modest, and loyal, and is running the Race to prove to himself that he can do anything.

Justin prides himself on his patience and his ability to problem solve. He admits the biggest difference between he and his partner is that Zev is not great in large groups of people — one of the characteristics of Asperger's — while Justin is very easy-going and can assimilate himself into any group.

Outside of the occasional trip to Vegas ..., neither has traveled extensively, particularly with one another. Their relationship is spontaneous and unedited and resembles one of brothers more than friends.

My first impression is I can do without the lawyer and the poker players and I like the soccer couple and the married couple. As usual though, it takes me a few episodes to figure out who I really want to win.

I felt so bad for the team eliminated right at the get go. Could you imagine doing all the training and planning for AR and not even getting on a plane.

I sure love this show. Can't wait till next week.

I really didn't care for the opening - would have liked for all racers to go on at least one leg - well then again if it would have been the laywer.... well then it would have been a hoot :lmao::lmao::lmao:

So far the lawyer and the poker players (lying about charity work is just wrong on so many levels :headache:) are my least favorites and no stand out favorite at this point.

if you want real spoilers - including a "final 3" for this season - Reality Fan Forum gets incredible information from AROUND the world!! People post vidoes from their towns when TAR comes in - RFF adds google maps for each episode before it airs - its truly an amazing resource!!

is the general board - but for the nitty gritty (including the F-3 spoiler list)

HUGE amount of info, keep working it, they have the list of contestants and their projected times/far they go... just based on information from posters, and they detail and analyze commercials!!

DH thinks the worker at the fruit farm who handed out the next clue looked awfully American. We think his dad must have been a soldier during the war. :)

YUP - we thought the same thing.

HATE the lawyer!

We liked the poker players. I agree - not too cool lying about working for a non-profit, but they're fun.

We also like the father/son and the buddies, with the one with Asperger's.

It'll take time to figure out the other teams.

I watched most of the videos of the teams before the show started and I hated the lawyer before the show, I hated the lawyer during the show, and I still hate him. Ugh, I hope he gets out next.

Other than that, I really don't have any other team that I don't like. Actually, I really like a lot of the teams.

I haven't decided who I like yet since that usually takes a couple of episodes but I don't like the lawyer guy from Boston or the poker players. I hate when people lie about themselves which is why I don't like them and I can't stand that hideous Boston accent. If you can't say your R's you sound like a dolt. If the gay guys lie about themselves, like it seems they are going to, I will quickly start to dislike them as well.

Last year I like the brother sister lawyers from day one but this year no one sticks out yet.

I haven't made my final decision on what teams I like the best.. so far I like the Harlem Globtrotter men..;)

I also dislike the lawyer. I was so hoping that team would be the ones left behind, although I think the **** team would have been on my nerves before long too.

Like a previous poster said, I don't like people who pose and pretend. Those poker playing girls will have some karma bite them.

I really like Zev and Justin, the Globetrotters, and the father and son farmers. The brothers seem a little full of themselves. I wasn't very impressed with Mika in that challenge. She seems to be a bit too helpless.

As for the first challenge in Japan, there is no way in heck I could have done that.

Either of the last two teams could have been eliminated this week as far as I'm concerned. They were just plain not nice to one another. It was funny that the cool headed teams who encouraged instead of screamed are the ones who made it through easily with the ducks.

I like the Globetrotters so far.

I don't like the woman in the older dating couple. I like Zev, but with Aspergers, isn't a symptom of the disease an explosive temper? He seems pretty calm and going with the flow, I am sure he must be on medication.

This whole race is going to be hard for him. he will come up against things that will seem "wrong" to him, and he will need to work through it. From what I understand, there is no medication for adults with Asperger's. It's mainly a social handicap. He was diagnosed when he was 11, so he has had years of behavior modification. My Ds was dx'd when he was 9, and he is 13 now. It is amazing the progress he has made in the 4 years. He is even starting to become "self-aware", which is amazing to me. It is going to be interesting to watch him. He will notice minute little details, and that could be a huge advantage for them.

Of course, I will be rooting for Justin and Zev! I think Justin is great with Zev, and I wish there were more people like him in the world. I can only pray that my son ends up with a BFF like Justin.

My 2nd favorite team is the Globetrotters and then Sam and Dan. Most of the teams are really likable this year, though, the buff lawyer can go next. The size of his arms are gross!

I loved the 1st episode. I really enjoyed the Wasabi challenge. The japanese and their games shows are too funny.

Just an FYI...I always forget to do this each season, then get mad when football runs over, making 60 Minutes run over...then if I don't actually watch the race, I miss the end. Well, I finally did it last night!

If you DVR the Race, go in and set the stop time to an hour later. I have Direct TV, and I went into "manage recordings" I clicked on the Amazing Race and it has a box that says "stop time". You'll have options as to how long you want to record after the show is over. I set mine to 1 1/2 hpurs, because you just never know! LOL Plus, I will be able to watch Cold Case right after the race, without having to go into my list and start it.

He will notice minute little details, and that could be a huge advantage for them.

Did you see when the other teams were calling him the "duck whisperer" because he had such an easy time in the challenge?

As a fellow Christian, I hope that the Christian couple says true to their faith and the editing shows it. Nobody is perfect and I'm sure that I would have at least one melt-down if I were on the race but I'm hoping that they will be good & that the editing will not take a mistake and rerun it or blow it up.

I am a fan already of Justin & Jev, the Globetrotters, and the father/son team. Good players with solid relationships.

I really wanted the poker players to go, especially after they lost 2 in their group and went on. Not cool! Who was is that went back and carried the missing player? THAT was cool.

I don't know what they called that episode but it could be called "The Herding Show". First the people and then the ducks. The ducks were easier.

Subscribing...I still have to watch the episode that I dvr'd but it looks like it will be an interesting season! One of my favorite shows! :)

I am with the rest of the voting party for sending the lawyer home NOW!!

Really liked the teams of Meghan/Cheyne, Gary/Matt, Zev/Justin and the Globetrotters.
It was nice to see how easy going Zev and Matt handled herding the ducks.

Atleast a restroom stop didn't knock a team out this season.

Don't like the lawyer (loud-mouth jerk) or the poker players. I couldn't believe how quickly one of them let her emotions show (upset with her partner when they missed the first tram at the airport). You would think a professional poker player would have more control.
