***The almost annual Tony Romas dis meet (Menu link added)***

Well after a chat with the missus we have definately decided that we are coming to this - and have also decided to come down on the Friday and stay for 2 nights. :goodvibes
I'm sure we'll find something to do in London village for the Saturday - now we just have to find somewhere to stay.
I see on the map that Heathrow isn't that far away. Would basing ourselves at a hotel here and getting the tube into London be a good idea? And if so has any of you stayed in one of the Heathrow Hotels and can give any opinions. I was looking at the Jurys Inn - which looks OK to me and has the sort of amenities we are after.
Sorry for all the questions but - and this probably sounds daft to some of you - we have never really been to London before so its all going to be a bit new to us :)

Why stay at Heathrow? Kingston is just 30 minutes to London by rail, but mainline it's not on the tube.

Hampton Court is less than 10 minutes drive from Kingston where you could easily spend at least 3 hours if not the whole day - a nice looking hotel there but not stayed myself as I live very close. (Again Hampton Court to London is an easy train trip but not on same line as Kingston so you'd need to drive or get a bus between the two.)

Worry not dear :) DW has been on the case. I have booked us 2 nights accommodation with breakfast. After arriving on the Friday evening you can treat us to a pub meal and a few drinks. Saturday we are going to take the kids to Thorpe Park - you finally get to ride Saw  Saturday evening may even see us back at the pub :lmao:

Lazy Sunday morning before heading to Tony Romas - how does that grab you :lmao:
