Thanks! Guess I didn't look carefully! Do you know if the kids club is also open during the day to play or do these activities take the place of the kids club being open? I think I called it the Cub's Den, but that is the Wilderness Lodge...oops....but maybe it is Simba's Clubhouse......Thanks!

I have the June Activities flyer and it states that Simba's opens at 4:30pm. Here's some information which might be useful:

From the Jambo side of the flyer:

Welcome Home! Begin your African adventure by attending our daily activities offered at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Uzima Pool: Enjoy Uzima Pool, our feature zero-depth entry pool which has a gradual slope into the water. Uzima means "clear water" and there's plenty of it to enjoy.
Note: For everyone's safety & enjoyment, diaper-age children are required to wear swim diapers or rubber pants when using any pool at the WDW Resort. Swim diapers are available in Zawadi Marketplace for your convenience. If diaper-age children do not have a swim diaper on, please see a member of our lifeguard team prior to swimming.

Dinner and late snack are included. Open from 4:30pm to 12:00am. $11.25 per hour. For reservations touch "55" on your in-room phone or call 407-WDW-DINE.

Donald is #1....seems like you are a AKL expert. We will be heading to Jambo first time as DVC members. We are requesting a 1 BR Pool, what request should I make so we are close to marketplace, lobby, elevators, anything else we should know :confused3Thanks so much! :goodvibes

Hmmm, I have never booked a pool view room. I believe that most if not all of the pool view rooms are near the central elevators (at least compared to the savanna view rooms). I would request a room near the central (i.e. lobby) elevators. Those elevators are next to everything that you mentioned.

Got a question. DH and I don't drink coffee but 2 people we are going with do and will want to have some every morning. I think I remember that you get one pack when you check in. Is that correct? Also I guess they need to purchase a can or whatever of coffee for the week. Do they sell it like that in the shop at Kidani? Any idea of the price? Sorry for my coffee ignorance and thanks in advance for the help!

We are staying at AKV for the first time 2br, Savannah View.

I saw a pick with bunkbeds, how do you get those?

Is the Pool heated, we're going in October.

Coffee & tea (with sugar/creamer) comes with the coffeeemaker in your room, and housekeeping replinishes it each day. But beware... it's Nescafe and it's horrid. That's pretty much all that you can find on premises...I'm sure the same is true for Kidani. I've finally learned my lesson and I plan to bring my own coffee and basket filters this trip. My favorite thing to do in the AM is relax on the balcony with a cup of coffee, but drinking sewer sludge can really ruin the mood!

Actually, this depends on how you're booked. If you've booked through CRO then it will get replaced daily. If you've booked through DVC then you will get a starter pack only. (You can request more and they'll tell you the price of additional kits, but, I think it's cheaper to buy at Zawadi.)

Unfortunately, the AKV rooms don't have bunk beds. Only the AKL rooms can be booked with bunkbeds.

Does anyone know where I can look at a map of the resort?

a map of Jambo House can be found here. Unfortunately there isn't a Kidani map to be found online, yet.

The pool will be heated, but I think in October there is a good chance for it being still so warm that it does not really matter wether the pool is heated or not!

Thank You! We are booked through DVC so only a starter packet for us! I appreciate the info and will let our coffee drinkers know!

We have a 3 bedroom at Jambo booked for January, but we're thinking of switching to Kidani to get the additional sofabed. Are all of the 3 bedrooms at Kidani safari view?

We have found that the coffee pre-filled pods like what you would get in a hotel are available at most grocery stores in your own favorite coffee variety works best for us. We just pop them in and brew real coffee.
